“REMEMBERING THEN AND RESPONDING NOW” (5/27/19)
“But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me.  He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!  God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him.  When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start.  Now I’m alert to God’s ways; I don’t take God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works; I try not to miss a trick.  I feel put back together, and I’m watching my step. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes. ” (Psalm 18:16-24 MSG)
For you living in the United States of America, today is Memorial Day; a day for remembering and honoring those who have served and died in the Armed Forces of our country.  Certainly, we must take some time out of our day to remember those individuals who are most deserving of honor for the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
For all of us, regardless of our location across the globe, any day or every day is a perfect day to remember the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary’ cross.  He gave His life for you and for me!  On top of that, it is always a good time to remember “then;” the times that the Lord intervened in some incredible way in your life. And after remembering “then,” it is the perfect time for responding “now.”  If you agree, break silence as you read!  Say aloud, “Amen!”
David gives us a pattern to follow as we praise God, remembering “then;” remembering all he has done for us individually.  For surely one day you were falling either deep in sin or in response to some desperate times, or when the world tried to overcome you with a flood of hate.  But remember “then!”  “Then,” when it was the Lord who reached down from heaven and pulled you out!  “Then,” when chaos in your life was crushing you, but elevate your thinking and remember “then,” when it was the Lord who relieved the weight of your anxiety or the heaviness of the circumstances that were trying to hold you down; down in disappointment, down in depression, down in determination, down in defeatism, or even down in a feeling of being deserted!  Whether it is a declared Memorial Day or not in your part of the world, look back with thanksgiving, remember “then,” when life’s happenings hit you so very  hard or even when the emissaries of Satan were pounding  you to the point where you were ready to give in!  But start rejoicing, because at that time, you remember “then,” when the Lord stuck by you!  He did not just stand by you, but like He did for David, He stood you up from a feeling of lowliness.  He saved you! You felt unworthy, but you got a surprise: God still loved you and He was showing you, back “then.”
Can’t you remember “then” or even the multiple “then” times when God made your life complete and as you presented Him all the pieces, and “then” He put you back together again!  Please remember all the times we can refer to as “then,” times when the Lord gave you a new start!  I don’t know about you, but I can remember the multiple times, too many to count, that He did that for me and I’m certainly glad about it!  Take a little time today and when someone else thinks you are being quiet or perhaps momentarily unsociable, just tell them that you are being like David, remembering “then;” reviewing the ways that the Lord works, as evident on how He has worked in your life!
After remembering “then,” spend some time recommitting to responding in this time we call “now.”  Feel how He put you together and demonstrate that togetherness, “now!”  Watch your step, “now!”  Respond “now” to how God changed your story and rewrote the text of your life!  Do so by living a life that you are not ashamed to reveal in an open book before the eyes of the Lord!  Remember “then” and respond “now!”  Enjoy your day!
“Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations, O Lord, and I will sing praises to Your name.” (Psalm 18:49 NASB)

“THE HOLIDAY VS. THE HOLY DAY” (5/26/19)
“Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, “Consider your ways!” (Haggai 1:5 NASB)
You know when it’s holiday time!  Early in the morning, the road lanes are full, the retail lines are flowing, and revered lives of many, even the religious saints of God, respond to the long weekend as it is a time to lose sight of who they are! Now, I’m not talking about the just the church folks.  I’m talk about all folks everywhere; anywhere people exist that get a break from the normal. It just seems like we become different people!  Our focus changes!  We look toward fun and not to the Father above.  Many don’t think about the reason for the day off.  All that some think is that it’s a fringe benefit, a day where sleeping late is acceptable, a day where I get paid for doing nothing. However, when you see the numbers I researched, you might resort to thinking different about the holiday; realizing that the money spent is greater than the pay you received.  Let’s take a quick look at what I found out.
Daniel B. Kline reported on May 23, 2019 that Memorial Day spending on gas last year was 35% higher on the holiday than on an average day.  This was based on data from 50 million credit and debit card expenditures.  He goes on to report that hotel spending on Memorial Day in 2018 was 37% higher than the average day in 2018.  On the Saturday prior to Memorial Day, total transactions at amusement parks/carnivals/circuses came in at more than double (101%) the average day in 2018.  Tourist attraction/exhibit spending was 97% higher than the average day in 2018 with consumers spending an average of $81.  Aquarium spending was 169% higher than on the average day in 2018.  It was also predicted that the average consumer, as will spend over $500 at retailers during the Memorial Day!
Check this out! A report issued by the Union of Concerned Scientists says that Americans will spend an estimated 1.4 billion dollars on gas traveling to their favorite summer destinations.  Have I got your attention yet?
Well, since we have looked at the holiday spending, briefly.  Let’s look at religious giving since 1990.  After we do, you might not throw just a dollar in the offering plate, the one the Trustees have to iron out because it was just balled up and thrown in the plate, as if to hide the denomination being deposited at offering time. In 2016, the New York Times reported, “In fewer than 20 years, religious giving has dropped by half; yes, 50%.  It was also noted by a non-profit source that on average, Christians give 2.5% of their income to churches.  Of course this is lower the tenth.  But what’s even more amazing is a fact that discloses that during the Great Depression, people gave 3.3% versus what we give in this era; a time where reportedly, the economy is getting better.
Enjoy your holiday with friends and family during this Memorial Day weekend.  And please note this was not a lecture, just a lesson; not a plea, just a presentation of facts so you can consider your spending by comparing “The Holiday” versus “The Holy Day” where we bring our offerings to the Lord. Now, if you are reading this in a store checkout line, waiting to pay for your purchases, perhaps you might be ready to tell the clerk, “I changed my mind on this item.  I don’t need it.  I need to prioritize my giving to the One who has blessed me and keeps on blessing me!”
Pray and then compose your own conclusions.  For what you do next will be up to you!  Praise God and smile!
“You have sown much, but harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns, earns wages to put into a purse with holes.”  Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Consider your ways!” (Haggai 1:6-7 NASB)

“BRING ON THE NEXT STORM!” (5/25/19)
“That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”  Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat.  There were also other boats with him.  A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.  Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”  He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!”  Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” (Mark 4: 35-39)
Do you remember the song from the original “Ghostbusters” movie?  Do you recall the words, “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts?”  Well, I’m not dealing with the paranormal or the fictional this morning.  But, I’m dealing with the normal; those various types of storms that we face and the faith we need when they show up on what the songwriter called, “the restless sea of life.”  I want you to go away declaring, “I ain’t afraid of no storms!”
What do I know about storms? Well, let me tell you!  I’ve been through just as many storms as you have; perhaps more! I’ve been unemployed, underemployed, and almost unglued by those unsuspecting and upsetting storms of life that come out of nowhere!  I’ve been in situations where I felt I would be unable to deal with the multi-pressures of life, at least by myself.  I’ve been under-utilized and under conditions where I unashamedly had to take my kids for government cheese lunch handouts and free pancake dinners.  Thank God that Jesus promised to provide food, clothing, and shelter when we seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness!
I’ve been upset in times of unscheduled losses in life; losing loved ones, losing friends, losing jobs, losing composure, losing focus on the upward direction that I should have been traveling; led astray by some unacceptable diversions that tried unsuccessfully to halt my Christian journey.  Oh. I’ve been through some unleashed storms!  And, not unlike you, I have felt sins breakers dashing trying to conquer my soul!  Thank God again, for survival is undeniable when we hold on to God’s unchanging hand!
I’m not done!  Keep reading! It’s a holiday weekend and you have some time! Listen, I have had the unbridled feeling of failure when my dream fulfillment was delayed or redefined, unaware at the time that all things really do work for good for those who love the Lord and are called for His purpose.  I could go on and on, but unless I tell you something else; unless I unseal my battle cry when storms try to unravel my life, my meditation will end up useless and unsuccessful.
Here’s is my battle cry: “Bring on the next storm!”  I’m not being cocky, just being confident!  I’m not playing with words, but I’m putting my faith in the One I worship!  For when the next storm comes, I have a very present Heavenly Father who will help me in times of trouble!  “Bring on the next storm,” for when it arrives, I have an Awesome Savior who will still the winds and the waves!  “Bring on the next storm,” for I have a Holy Helper who will guide me through; counsel me, comfort me, and bring peace in the midst of my predicament!  I’m going to call on the Lord and He will demonstrate that He cares for me and His compassion and concern will be revealed as He responds to my faithful call to rescue me!
The storms of life, at times will keep raging, but stay anchored in the Lord! He will; He will; He will; (A shout goes right here!); He will - see you through!  You think, “I ain’t afraid of no storm! ‘Bring on the next storm!’” You talk your battle cry, knowing that you will be alright: “Bring on the next storm!”  You tell your faith to take over your actions and get ready!  “Bring on the next storm!”  May God bless you even more!  Hope your holiday weekend is a little bit better now!

“THE LORD WILL WORK IT OUT!” (5/24/19)
“I am your God and will take care of you until you are old and your hair is gray.  I made you and will care for you; I will give you help and rescue you.” (Isaiah 46:4 GNT)
I know you know the song that is most notably sang by the Mississippi Mass Choir entitled, “When I Rose This Morning?”  But just in case the title does not ring a bell or cause the words of that song to automatically flood your consciousness about our God, Jehovah-Jireh, here is how it starts, “When I rose this morning, I didn’t have no doubt.  I know the Lord will take care of me.  I know the Lord will provide for me.  In know the Lord will take care of me.  And I know He will lead and guide me all the way; yes He will; yes all the way!”
Yesterday, when I rose from my bed to write the daily meditation, I checked my text messages while the computer was starting up.  There was only one message, left from a person that needed some help.   It was an opportunity to bless someone to the best of my ability even though I had to figure out how I was going to do it.  Hear me out now!  I did not see it as a burden, but instead I saw it as a chance to be a blessing to someone else.  I took a time out to pray about it and then turned my attention to writing before the sun was in full view.  This is a true story y’all!  I didn’t have no doubt that the Lord would work it out.  But let me tell you how.  I go through my normal morning routine.  I drink my coffee, eat a little breakfast, and see my wife off safely.  I’m working on the solution for the other person’s problem. I was sure I had what he needed.  But I could not find it.  After coming up with a “Plan B” in my mind, I was prompted to go look in the same places I had looked before.  Guess what? You’re right!  I found it and I was able to bless the individual without readjusting my budgeted spending.  Oh, I still had to modify my plans and give a couple of hours to resolving the member’s predicament.  But isn’t our time, God’s time?  The Lord had worked it out, but that’s not the end of it!
Before I left, to do a deed of kindness for the person that left the message, a Christian owner of a professional service company called and said some of his technicians were on the way.  The first technician arrives and described the work he was going to perform. All I could see was dollar signs! It was no small project!  Let me tell you I’m glad that the Lord was not concerned about cost or the size of the project!  As they say, we are trying to figure it out while God has already worked it out!  The owner gives me the exact costs and then he goes on to tell me that another Christian brother, a friend, that the contractor performs works for, was going to take care of the costs!  My face was stunned, shocked by such a supreme showing of goodness!  Yet, my faith was strengthened!  The words of the song in the first paragraph went beyond church rhetoric!  They became so very real!  It was all unexpected too!  The Lord, through one of His children took care of me!  The Lord, through one of his people, provided for me!  The Lord, through one of his disciples, lifted me! My face was left with tears of joy, falling as if they had to urgently fulfill an appointment on the top of my barefooted feet.  I thought I had done some great thing to help somebody, but this deed of kindness and the love of Christ revealed through one of His own far exceeded what I did for another!
I called the benefactor, a recipient who lives out of state and who receives these meditations.  I thanked him with all the composure I could muster up!  There is a thing such as unspeakable joy!  He pointed to my early morning messages as a blessing and he was just blessing me in return.  Wow! Look at the closing verse when I finish here.
But first, I just have to say, “Thank you Jesus!  Thank you Lord!  Wait!  I do have to say something else to you!  Whatever comes your way, God can handle it!  Whatever unexpected problem that has wound up in your lap, God is undeniably able to help you, unquestionably able to provide for you, and then He will unequivocally lead you and guide you all the way; yes, all the way!  Sorry for the length of today’s message, but I just had to tell somebody that the Lord will work it out for you too! Now, read the closing verse.
“Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing.  Giving, not getting is the way.  Generosity begets generosity.” (Luke 6:38 MSG)

“STEPPERS, BUT NOT THAT KIND” (5/23/19)
“Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.  If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us—a land which flows with milk and honey.” (Number 14 6-8 NASB)
We are all familiar with the story of the twelve spies sent over to spy on Canaan; the Promised Land that God was leading His people to after delivering them from their long captivity in Egypt.  Only two of the spies were ready to move forward.  The other ten, all leaders of their father’s tribes, were overcome by fear.  As you remember, the ten gave a bad report of the land which they had spied out. Instead of faith, these ten saw fear. That tainted their report!  They did not see confidence in God as something to cherish and hold on to.  I don’t understand. Hadn’t He done many miraculous things and moved many obstacles out of their way in the not too distant past? Yes, instead of seeing confidence in God, the ten saw cowardliness.  Instead of execution filling their sights, they filled their minds with excuses.  They minimized the fact that God, who had proved He was a strong deliverer, was their traveling companion.  Thus their report was ominous.  They saw the inhabitants of the land as giants too big to be conquered, even though no person, no populated place, no problem, or any predicament is too big for our God. The reports of the ten demoralized the congregation of Israel, so much so that they wanted to go backwards to Egypt, instead of forward to the place God had promised them.  As a side note, God’s people move forward, not backwards!
In this story, we see three types of people.  We see the “stoppers,” the “stopped,” and the “steppers.”  The “stoppers” that I am referring to are not the people who already occupied Canaan.  No, they are the ten pessimistic, perturbed, poor examples of leaders of God’s people; the ones who brought back a bad report.  The “stopped” were the people who were so easily influenced to turn around, take up residence in the place they had been released from, as opposed to trusting God.
Now, let me define “steppers,” because I want to make sure you know I am not referring to anything that has to do with dancing.  I’m talking about “steppers,” but not that kind!  “The “steppers” I am talking about are Joshua and Caleb; two men who spoke out to attest to the good of the land and affirm that the Almighty will not only bring them into the land, but that He would give it to them.  You see, just to make it applicable to you, “steppers” are those who walk by faith and not by sight! “Steppers” are those people who put it all in His hands!  “Steppers” are people whose faith is not daunted by the faithless who are in their midst!  “Steppers” are people who don’t see obstacles as just “obstacles,” but they see obstacles as “obstacles to be overcome” with the help of an omnipotent God! “Steppers” have no concerns about getting what God has for them because they are aware that the Lord is the One who will do the giving!  “Steppers” move on, in spite of what things look like at the moment.  They know to keep pleasing God and believe that something good is ahead!
Which type of person will you commit to being as you resume your journey through life today, especially if you face huge problems or heavy-laden predicaments?  Will you be a “stopper,” one of the “stopped,” or a “stepper?”
“For we live by believing and not by seeing.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT)

“ON THIS SPECIAL DAY” (5/22/19)
“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 MEV)
When someone asks about your special days, you think about the day The Lord saved you, your birthday, your graduation day, one of those days where you are honored, your anniversary day; be it a wedding anniversary or an anniversary where you celebrated milestone of making it through the first week of a relationship!  Oh I’m sure that you have some other special days that come to your mind.
When you woke up this morning, was it “just another day?”  Did you see it as merely “one more day?”  Was it “hump day” - Wednesday, the middle of the workweek day?”  Or when you awakened did you realize it was a “special day!”  Did you wake up moving toward a state of rejoicing and celebration for being given another day that the Lord has made?  Did you thank God for this special day, a day that you have never seen before! Did you praise Him for waking you up this morning, realizing that He has blessed you with another special day of living? If you did not answer “yes” to any of those  last four questions, stop reading right now and give thanks to the Lord for yet another special day on top of the hundreds on top of hundreds or thousands of special days that He has blessed you with in your life!  Pause and pray, right now and then, come back to this meditation!
This is the day that the Lord has made.  And, when God makes something, you better believe that it is special!  So, this is your special day…again!  You had one yesterday and if the Lord sees fit to let your days roll on a little bit longer, you will see another special day tomorrow.  But, I have a question.  What are you going to do on this special day!  You will have to come up with the answer to that one all by yourself. Well, that’s not completely true. For I will give you a closing verse to help you on this special day!  Be excited! Be encouraged!  Be energized by the Lord’s presence in your life!  Be evidence to the world that Jesus has made a difference in your life!  When, not if, you go to a midweek service, be enthusiastic from the beginning of the service until the end!  After all, this is a special day!  So - - - -
“Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.  Wake up from your sleep, climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light! So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!” (Ephesians 5:11-14 MSG)

“WHAT CHURCH FOLKS THINK!” (5/21/19)
“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Matthew 11:15 KJV)
Every married couple needs a date night, regardless of their age.  At one time our date night was Thursday night. Fridays were part of the weekend and the weekend was reserved for the children.  The children are all grown, gone, and giving thought to breaking their own routine schedule; whether it is because of their children, their calling, or their commitment to work on achieving their dreams.  So guess what?  Friday night has become our date night.  Last week we watched, “What Men Think.”  Years ago we watched “What Women Want.”  In both movies the star characters suffered an accident where they suffered a temporary traumatic head injury.  The injuries in the latter movie gave the male lead, an advertising executive, an ability to hear what women were thinking.  It benefitted him professionally and personally.  The same benefits were experienced by the female lead, a top sports agent for professional athletes, in the first movie I mentioned.  Only she could hear the thoughts of men.  Both movies were funny, entertaining, and provided a relaxing way to end the work week.  In addition to entertainment though, “What Men Think” prompted me to entertain thoughts of what church folks think when I preach the word on Sunday mornings.
Church folks populate the pews, postured as they are paying attention, and appear positively engaged in taking profitable notes on their phones or the dedicated page in the bulletin.  Eyes are perfectly glued on the pulpit!  Heads are nodding, perceived by me to be in agreement with the sent message being delivered. But what if I had the temporary ability to hear their thoughts and know what church folks think during the time of preaching.
Is somebody thinking, “How much longer will this take?”  Is somebody else thinking, “That must be for somebody else,” therefore I can think about what I’m going to do after the benediction?” Probably someone’s eyes are fooling me. I think they are glazed focusing on the depth of God’s word, but they might be focusing on thoughts about the fun they had Saturday and how that fun will continue in the near future.  Others are focusing on thoughts like, “What made him or her think that outfit was appropriate for church?”  Somebody else may be thinking, “I hope she/he does not leave before I get to talk to them!  She/he is looking so good!”  Oh, I know for sure there are some serious listeners in the congregation too!   There are some church folks who will not only hear the word, but will be eager to put the word into action in their lives.  There are some folks who can tell you the sermon title, chapter and verse, if asked!
After thinking about “What church folks think,” I concluded that I must try to do my best to make folks think about what God has to say on any given day. That’s my role in the dynamics of preaching.  Regardless of the comments that say, “I like today’s message” are real or not, that’s on the folks in the congregation, including you.  You must realize that you have the responsibility for soaking in the specific message sent by God.  You must realize that while the preacher can’t read your mind, there is One who always knows what you are thinking.   Have a good day!  I’ll tell you now!  I’ll be thinking about you managing your thinking throughout the day in a godly way! Be blessed and smile!
“O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.  Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.” (Psalm 139:1-2 KJV)

“STAY ON THE TRAIN!” (5/20/19)
“The Lord will guide you continually.” (Isaiah 58:11a CEB)
I’m sure that at some time in the last 17 months, I have told you about how our family went to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum every Saturday morning years ago.  The museum in Indianapolis is without question, one of the best children museums in the world and well worth the admission fee they charge today.  But in the years that we were regular weekend visitors, there was no charge.  Now, there were not as many exhibits and the technology involved at the stations where the children could play and learn was far less than the technology children are exposed to today.  But we would have a morning filled with fun, fueled by the imagination of young minds! Maybe I have told you about our first stop where there was an old passenger train on the lower level. Well, even if I have, I know I did not highlight what I want to point out today.
As we walked down the elevator to the level where the train was located, the children were already “indicating” what role they would play; passenger, conductor, ticket-taker, bystander, etc.  They raced to get to their positions.  To be fair, “passengers” got off the train over and over again until everyone had played their desired roles.  On the train, off the train, on the train, off the train; energy was expended, exercise demanded, but nevertheless it was time well spent.  But the children were just playing on this train.  They were not expected to stay on the train.  There were other things to do at the museum and the train would have to wait until next week’s visit!
Let me continue by mentioning something else from the past to get to my primary point.  Remember when we used to sing a song entitled, “The Gospel Train Is Coming.” There were some lyrics inserted that invited those who had not accepted Christ and admonished those who had accepted Him, but had not submitted to riding the rails of life with Him.  The lyrics went something like this, “Get on board little children!  Get on Board! For there is room for many a more!”
Here is what I want to point out!  Yesterday, just like my family got aboard the train for an imaginary ride, you got aboard a train at your church where you committed to staying on board a train, a train called for the purpose of this illustration, “The Discipleship Express!”  Whatever you were reminded of yesterday – you were going to commit to doing.  In other words, you were going to stay on the train. If you were advised to adhere to being an active witness for the Lord as you travel through life, you were going to stay on the train!  If you had to do better in showing love and kindness, you were going to stay on the train! The challenge was made to love everybody and treat everybody right and while in the church, riding the “Discipleship Express,” you were heard saying “Amen,” a verbal sign that you were going to stay on the train!  If you were led to make some corrections in your lifestyle or reorganize your priorities so the Lord was really the head of your life, seated in the sanctuary section, you made up your mind to stay on the train!  Whatever specific message God sent you for a specific purpose, you were in agreement to fulfill that purpose.  In other words, you were going to stay on the train!  There was not going to be any getting off the train to focus on other things until the next weekend like our family did at the children’s museum.  No sir! No maam!  You were going to stay on the train!  Well good for you!
So regardless if you hit a few bumps on the track this week; in spite of delays you might experience on your journey this week; and even when you have to come to your senses that God is The Conductor and He is in charge of the train and in control of all aboard, you make sure you stay on the train!  Don’t get off and wait until next Sunday to get back on! Enjoy your ride my friend!  Keep holding on!  I know I will!  God bless you!
“Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise.” (Hebrews 10:23 GNT)

“TELL THEM YOUR TESTIMONY! (5/19/19)
“As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was imploring Him that he might accompany Him.  And He did not let him, but He said to him, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.” (Mark 5:18-20 NASB)
Today, many services will start out with the praise team leading worship.  In days past, the Deacons would lead a devotional period.  In some churches, this is still the prelude to the printed order of service in the bulletins.  In the former, worshipers are exhorted to praise God, realizing we all have something to praise Him for; really more than we can name.  In the latter, the Deacons would open the floor for testimonies.  It seemed at times that they had to beg believers to come and tell what the Lord had done.  On other occasions, as the saying goes, people were popping up like popcorn to acknowledge aloud how God had blessed them, made a way for them, delivered them, and set their feet on higher ground.
In addition to the two examples above, church members are permitted to freely come to the front of the church to give their testimony or report on how God has moved in their lives and/or make special prayer requests.  As fellowship happens before and after the service, many share their testimony; testify to others about how God intervened in their situation.  This type of testimony continues by believers during the week, in their normal circles of interaction.   That’s good to hear, isn’t it?  You are probably one of those people and, I thank God for you!  I thank Him for you taking opportunities to tell them your testimony.
Keep these five things in mind as you continue to tell them your testimony: (1) It is not about you, but how the Lord loves those who trust Him enough to intervene in their lives!  (2) It is not a time to show off, but rather to share the great things that the Lord has done for you!  (3) It is an awesome opportunity to amaze someone who needs Jesus in their lives! (4) Your testimony is to be reported in the hope that your experience will entice others to put their trust in the Lord for whatever they are going through!  Yes, it is important for you to want them to know what He has done for others, He can do for them.  (5) Even more importantly, you want the person(s) you share your testimony with to know that the Lord, He is God!
Testimonies are not to be kept to yourself and used for self motivation. Transparency may be required, but so what!  Your testimony is to be shared with others!  Don’t waste time this Sunday!  Go tell them your testimony!
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:  Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.  Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.  Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.  Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 124 KJV)

“WHAT IT IS…AND…WHAT IT’S NOT!” (5/18/19)
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.  And all who believed were together and had all things in common” (Acts 2:42-44 ESV)
Yes, it’s Saturday morning and I have been sent to you to clarify what “church” is and what “church” is not!  My objective, as usual on this day, a day which precedes the first of the week, Sunday, is to equip you to help others see the importance of coming to the place where the saints of God assemble together.  Notice that I wrote, “to equip you.”  I did that intentionally because I just know you are already intending to enter His gates with immense thanksgiving and his courts with increased praise.  Let me be brief, at least try.  Consider the following:
ü  The church house is not just a building, but it is a place where we can be built-up; constructed to be more like Christ.
ü  The church building is not a venue for entertainment, but it is avenue on which edification is offered.
ü  The church, your local church, is not only a place for praise and worship, but it is a place for fellowship with others.
ü  The church, what it is and what it is not, is referred to by Grant Skeldon in his book, “The Passion Generation (2018).”  He writes, “Church should be less of an event and more of a launching pad.”
ü  The church is not a place where you come in only to see what you can get, but it is a place where you can give; provide encouragement to one another.
ü  The church is not a fishing ground for a mate or a date, but it is a place where you can learn from the Lord how to be fishers of men, women, boys and girls.
ü  The church is not optional for those who are hungry for a living word.  It is voluntarily, yet compulsory for those who need to be fed continually from God’s word.
ü  The church, again your local church, it is not a place in competition with talented televangelists, skilled storytellers, or inventive illustrators who are blessed with dynamic presentation skills!  It is a place where you can open your Bible, follow along and see for yourself that the preaching of the word of God is profitable!  The church, it is a place where God’s messengers do as they were called, to preach the word, ready in season and out of season!
ü  The church is not a place to please your future spouse or that church man or woman you are trying to win over.  It is a place where you will please God and win His approval.
ü  The church is not just for saved people, but it where people can be saved from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and the presence of sin!
I could go on, but I have already gone beyond my expressed hope to be brief! I tried!  Listen!  You who have been faithful, your habits have been reinforced.  For any who read this and their habit is to forsake the assembly of the saints, your habit has been rebuked in love.  Yet, in either case it is a blessing because God wants what is best for you!  Enjoy service tomorrow – at the church!
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:16 NIV)

“YOUR PARKING PERMIT IS EXPIRED!” (5/17/19)
“Then he came there to a cave and lodged there; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  He said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts; for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”  So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.  After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.  When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” Then he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts; for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”  The Lord said to him, “Go, return on your way…” (I Kings 19:9-15a NASB)
Elijah, weary, worn out, wandering in a dry place, and wrestling with despondency, dejection, depression or just a downtime at this point in his life is lodging in a cave.  He is in a state of self-pity, scared for his life, and saw himself as a standout in doing right while others were doing wrong.  It seems to me that he thinks his efforts are unnoticed, unappreciated, or possibly unrewarded.  Think of Elijah’s disposition as a parking space.  See the inner working in his being that characterizes his parking space. He had been permitted to lodge there only so long.  His parking permit had expired!  God confronts Elijah with a question, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  Elijah reports on what has caused him to remain parked in his space, the cave.  The Lord patiently listens to Elijah, surely knowing how we are made and thus allows the prophet to release some of his anxiety.  God allows him to vent.  In so many words, after Elijah’s venting, He tells Him, “Go forth and stand on the mountain (Horeb) before the Lord.”   In other words, God lets Him know, and I paraphrase, “Your parking permit is expired!” Elijah still did not move until after the Lord gave a demonstration of His power and capabilities, as well as His sure presence.  Finally, Elijah comes to the entrance of the cave.  God asks Elijah again, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  Elijah tries to justify his reasons for being in the cave with the same reasons or rationale.  The Lord tells Him, once again letting Elijah know his parking permit has expired, “Go, return on your way to…”
Some of us or somebody you know perhaps, he/she needs to be told that their parking permit has expired and they need to arise!  They need to go and do what God wants them to do.  Oh, God is not just using sublimation from a psychological perspective; just trying to have Elijah do something useful work to release his anxiety.  No, God has left Elijah on the earth for a positive purpose that will benefit others as well as him.  However, the first step was to “Go forth;” “Go;” move and get out of the space where he was parked.
If you or somebody you know is parked in a dry place, a place of despondency, a space of dejection, a place of depression, a place where he/she is experiencing down time; parked in a place of self-pity, parked in a place where rejection has one reeling and feeling unappreciated, or has one in a state where he/she remains unmoved, or is enduring any other condition that has them down in the dumps, God wants you and/or that person to know this morning, your parking permit has expired.  Leave that space where you are at and go where the Lord wants you to go!  He loves you!  He cares for you!  He has purpose for you!  He has plans that are unfolding for you!  Start your journey to where God wants you to go!  Be not dismayed, whatever betide, God will take care of you!  But remember two things: Your parking permit has expired and you must go, move forward to a better disposition or position; move to a better emotional state, a new space where the Lord can use you!  Be blessed!
“God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do even more for you! Why do you have such little faith?” (Matthew 6:30 CEV)

"I JUST HAVE QUESTIONS THIS MORNING” (5/16/19)
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. “ (Hebrews 13:2 NASB)
What if an angel, let’s say Gabriel, approaches you in disguise today at the corner bus stop, the carousel where you are waiting patiently for your luggage, the coffee shop where anybody who is “somebody” goes daily for their complex concocted cup of coffee, the cubical where you are focusing on your things to do list, or he just crosses your path in the hallway?  Are none of these applicable to you or descriptive of where you will find yourself today?
Well, what if this disguised angel greets you at a retail store or better yet at the return desk where the habit of some is to give that proverbial piece of mind to the representative on duty?  What if you are the receptionist and he needs answers or directions?
What will Gabriel experience?  Will he get a smile or a stone face?  Will he be granted a brief interaction, or just a big bag of irritation?  Will he be pleased with your reception or reaction, or will he feel like he just received a really big serving of rejection, accompanied with two heaping teaspoons of agitation?  Will he have that feeling that makes one say, “Sorry I asked?” or “What’s up with you?”
Did this meditation, “I Just Have Questions This Morning,” make you think about your day that is just starting to unfold?
“So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of] the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets." (Matthew 7:12 AMP)

“THE ALL-TIME BEST TIME MANAGEMENT TIP” (5/15/19)
“Ahab went home, depressed and angry over what Naboth had said to him. He lay down on his bed, facing the wall, and would not eat.  His wife Jezebel went to him and asked, “Why are you so depressed? Why won't you eat?”  He answered, “Because of what Naboth said to me.  I offered to buy his vineyard or, if he preferred, to give him another one for it, but he told me that I couldn't have it!”  “Well, are you the king or aren't you?” Jezebel replied. “Get out of bed, cheer up, and eat. I will get you Naboth's vineyard!”  Then she wrote some letters, signed Ahab's name to them, sealed them with his seal, and sent them to the officials and leading citizens of Jezreel. The letters said: “Proclaim a day of fasting, call the people together, and give Naboth the place of honor.  Get a couple of scoundrels to accuse him to his face of cursing God and the king. Then take him out of the city and stone him to death.”  The officials and leading citizens of Jezreel did what Jezebel had commanded.  They proclaimed a day of fasting, called the people together, and gave Naboth the place of honor.  The two scoundrels publicly accused him of cursing God and the king, and so he was taken outside the city and stoned to death.  The message was sent to Jezebel: “Naboth has been put to death.”  (I Kings 21:4-14 GNT)  “And concerning Jezebel, the Lord says that dogs will eat her in the city of Jezreel. “ (I Kings 21:23 GNT)
I don’t know if you have any issues with time management.  I’m not aware if you are always early and thus really on time. Nobody has shared anything with me about your time management efficiencies or deficiencies, if any of the latter exists.  It really doesn’t matter.  I just want to share with you something that I was reminded of in Sunday School; the all-time best time management tip!  Since it has been said that news travels fast, I would not be doing right if I withheld some good news and prevent it from traveling fast.  Good news is better that just news!  The tip is taken from the text above.
Here it is! “Remember that sin takes too much effort and the time you devote to it does not pay off in a good way.” Look at Jezebel’s sinful actions above! Look at the effort required!  See all the time robbers!  She makes a commitment to get Naboth’s vineyard and she should not have.  Next, she comes up with a scheme to accomplish her commitment.  Thus more effort is seen!  She writes letters and plagiarizes them with the king’s signature.  Her effort continues as she seals them with the royal seal!  Not done yet, Jezebel sends them out to the officials and the leading citizens!  This sounds like a lot of effort to me!  She is devoting a lot of effort to sinning!  Not done yet, she finds a couple of scoundrels to falsely accuse Naboth.  Finished? Not quite!  She orchestrates the murder of an innocent man!  In verse 15, not included in the scriptures above, she sends a report on her sinful endeavors to king Ahab; more effort connected to her sin!
Read the whole story when you get a chance.  But to show that sin takes too much effort and the time you devote to it does not pay off in a good way; I inserted verse 23 above in this morning’s reading to reinforce the tip.  Make sure you understand that the Lord, our omnipresent God is everywhere and He is not in the dark about Jezebel’s sin.  He pronounces her death.  (Read the italicized tip again my friend!)
You know, we would all have to face eternal death if it was not for Jesus who died on the cross for our sins!  While we will not be perfect in this life, we have to be grateful for His perfect, atoning sacrifice and we should be motivated to do what’s right.  Listen!  Doing what’s right is easier.  You know it and I know it.  Have a good day and remember the all-time best time management tip!
“For sin pays its wage—death; but God's free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 GNT)

“I TURNED IT OVER TO JESUS!” (5/14/19)
“And there came a man named Jairus, and he was an official of the synagogue; and he fell at Jesus’ feet, and began to implore Him to come to his house; for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. But as He went, the crowds were pressing against Him.  And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped.  And Jesus said, “Who is the one who touched Me?”  And while they were all denying it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You.” But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had gone out of Me.”  When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.” While He was still speaking, someone came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.”  But when Jesus heard this, He answered him, “Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be made well.” When He came to the house, He did not allow anyone to enter with Him, except Peter and John and James, and the girl’s father and mother. Now they were all weeping and lamenting for her; but He said, “Stop weeping, for she has not died, but is asleep.”  And they began laughing at Him, knowing that she had died.  He, however, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Child, arise!” And her spirit returned, and she got up immediately; and He gave orders for something to be given her to eat.” (Luke 8:41-55 NASB)
Have you ever used the phrase, “I turned it over to Jesus?”  What did your usage represent?  Was it phraseology?  Was it theology?  Was it a saying? Or, were you implying that you have been praying?  Were you signaling that you were trusting in the Lord or were you just trying to talk like church folks talk? Trusting or talking? Which was it? Were you just giving up or were you going up to that place from whence commeth our help?
This morning I have given you a longer passage than normal.  Be blessed and read it again.  Then, consider what it shows you about turning “it,” whatever “it” may be, over to Jesus.  See if your examination of the text results in findings that agree with what I extracted from it to help understand what we mean when we say, “I turned it over to Jesus.” Here are mine!  (1) Jesus should be asked to come to the “place” (physical, social, psychological, or spiritual) where your problem is prevailing.  (2) You must have faith that Jesus can help you.  (3) You cannot get discouraged because someone else’s problem is fixed while yours has not been remedied yet.  “Yet” is the key word in that last sentence.  Hang on in there since you are committed to turning it over to Jesus.  (4) Turn it over to Him and hold fast to your belief that there is always hope with Jesus.  (5) When you do turn it over to Him, stick with your decision, regardless of what others say or do.  (6) If it involves doing what Jesus said, that’s simple.  Just do it!  (7) Be amazed at the outcome; add some words to the closing sentence in your story, “I turned it over to Jesus… and everything is alright!”
“Her parents were amazed." (Luke 8:56 NASB)

“EXTRA!  READ ALL ABOUT IT!” (5/13/19)
“I love You, O Lord, my strength.”  The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:1-2 NASB)
My first assignment in HR simply referred to as “Personnel” at the time, included writing the bi-monthly newsletter for my division.  Two other local divisions of this major corporation issued one page bi-monthly publications.  Their issues looked more like news briefings, as opposed to a newsletter.  I could have settled to follow the established pattern, but my inner being would not let me settle to just meet the standard set by the “competition.”  The competitive juices in me surfaced to the top of my mind, ideas were popping out of my few creative pores, and the tips of my fingers were anxiously ready to translate ideas into a terrific new format.   As opposed to adopting the format of the other locations where they used letter size paper (8 ½” by 11) and printed stories on both sides, I opted to use a ledger/tabloid size (11”x17”) and print on both sides as well.  It was not a typical news release; not a news briefing; and not a news release.  It was a newspaper!  It took a lot of work to publish that paper, but it paid off, seeing how I learned to report important happenings in a timely, accurate and meaningful manner.
I want to try and utilize those reporting skills this morning to share what I learned yesterday at church.  Two accounts, one from a segment of our worship service called “The Teaching Emphasis” and the other from the sermon preached by a guest minister from northern Indiana.  I want you to read all about it!  The Deacon who presented the “Teaching Emphasis” relied on Psalm 18 to edify and educate us.  He noted that in the first two verses above, David employed the word “my” multiple times and he encouraged those in the pews to emulate David and see God from a personal perspective as, “my strength,” “my rock,” my fortress,” my deliverer,” “my shield,” my salvation,” and “my stronghold.”  Now make sure to go beyond reading this as a report and re-order your life to reflect the same faith and confidence that David did in the first two verses of this Psalm.  Apply the brief teaching in a big way as you go through your day.
Let me continue my reporting.  The minister who spoke at the morning service, she preached  strong and in the Spirit; showing us some lessons from Exodus 2, all modeled by Moses’ mother.  The lessons were not only appropriate for mothers on Mother’s Day, but they could benefit all men and women who have made the Lord their God. That includes you, so benefit from my reporting, okay?  She let us know, like Moses’ mother, sometimes you have to let go for the greater good.  Then she progressed to proclaim that we have to trust in God for His providential care. We were then informed that our level of faith will dictate the outcome of our personal stories; yours included! Another point of emphasis, also tied into faith, showed us that our ability to activate our faith will assuredly benefit others.  Integrated in her message was the observation that Moses never lost sight of who he was when he had grown to adulthood.  Incidentally, that point, when examined closely, shows that the psychologists are correct about the impact we have on our children between the formative years of 0 to 5 years old.  Moses mother nursed Moses for Pharaoh’s daughter and in those times they were not weaned until a couple of years.  But Moses, during those infant and early childhood years, learned something about his people and their faith.  Before closing and leading to the cross, where all good preaching ends, our guest minister reinforced that we must pass on our faith to the future generation! Remember this point because our ways and our choices, our talking and our walking, our beliefs and our behaviors are often adopted by the younger generation.
This is Mark King, reporting for the benefit of the kingdom of God!  This is extra reading for you!  Be sure to read all about it!
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear." (Matthew 11:15 NASB)

“SIMPLE TIPS FROM A SINGLE MOTHER’S STORY” (5/12/19)
”One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to God. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.”  Elisha said, “I wonder how I can be of help. Tell me, what do you have in your house?” Nothing,” she said. “Well, I do have a little oil.”  “Here’s what you do,” said Elisha. “Go up and down the street and borrow jugs and bowls from all your neighbors. And not just a few—all you can get. Then come home and lock the door behind you, you and your sons. Pour oil into each container; when each is full, set it aside.”  She did what he said. She locked the door behind her and her sons; as they brought the containers to her, she filled them. When all the jugs and bowls were full, she said to one of her sons, “Another jug, please.” He said, “That’s it. There are no more jugs.”  Then the oil stopped.  She went and told the story to the man of God. He said, “Go sell the oil and make good on your debts. Live, both you and your sons, on what’s left.” (2 Kings 4:1-7 MSG)
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms still with us this morning!  And may happy memories make your heart swell and saturate your mind of the strong Mothers who have departed from their sojourning through this barren land.  Do you remember how we were raised to honor mothers, all mothers, when we went to church in times past?  White flowers were worn in memory of deceased mothers and red flowers were worn if a child’s mother was still alive.  Some maintain that tradition while unfortunately, others have let this tradition slide into the category labeled “The honorable things we use to do.”  We need to bring that tradition back!  For certainly our sacrificial, selfless, saintly, and strong faithful mothers deserve to be remembered!  If you are one of the future mothers reading this meditation this morning, you should be motivated to assure that those same adjectives can apply to you!  If you know any future mothers, pass on these quick tips from the single mother’s story in the text above.
First, note that the single mother, a widow, was previously married to a godly man, a prophet in this case.   So before motherhood even becomes a possibility, you make sure to match with a mate that is also a godly.   Being equally yoke with a person who is God connected is a tip to still take serious! Second, even though she took on the role as a single mother, she did not let that take away from her faith or turn from her parental duties.  We see that by her actions.  She called out to God’s representative in hopes that God would intervene in her circumstances and help ensure that her children’s futures would be brighter than the darkness that was upon her.  Putting your hope in the Lord is always the right thing to do, regardless of circumstances, conditions, or the crisis that creep into our lives.  Third, she acted on the word of God’s representative as a matter of faith.  The improbable and the impossible, become in no doubt, a reality when we walk by faith and not by sight!  Another strong tip!  Are you beginning to note that these tips will work for fellows as well as for future mothers?  Good! One more tip before you got to church this morning.  Fourth, the single mother in our text shows us that obedience results in blessings, being better off than where one started, and benefits for your beloved will be seen!
I’m done!  Go have a great Mother’s Day!  And, male or female, review the four simple tips above from the single mother!  Let God’s word bless you in the days and years to come!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV)

“THAT’S WHEN HE BLESSED ME!” (5/11/19)
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NASB)
The end of the year 2017 was fast approaching, 2018 was ready to be introduced, run out on the field of life and become the days of reality. A decision had to be made, so advice was sought from others, on top of approaching the throne of grace, praying to our all-wise God to direct my path.  My options were continuing to pastor while giving publishing for profit one more try or to pastor a small church and promote a sense of godliness among people that make up the larger, universal church with no pursuit of financial proceeds. Not only did the latter match my passions, it went along with my personality, lined up with my gift profile, and most importantly, it aligned with God’s purpose for me.  I believe I have told you this before, but if God had not sent an advisor to me with heavenly guidance to choose the latter option; I would have pursued purchasing for profit.  I thank God for His guidance; His confirmation that I was to choose the latter option and be a witness for the Lord, showing myself as a willing worker, and proving to be obedient to the Great Commission to go ye therefore and make disciples of all the nations.
The Apostle Paul became a key role model for reaching people in a steadfast way, even during times when literally imprisoned.  You know about the prison epistles that He penned by the inspiration of God, don’t you? What you don’t know, perhaps, is that I am imprisoned, not by ruling authorities, but by a serious inner ear infection that minimizes my ability to travel long distances.  How was I ever going to reach places I have never traveled to, even in this nation?   How was I going to reach countries spread over the globe?  I need to tell you, don’t let any obstacle get in your way.  For I have learned that when God calls you to do something, He will provide with what you need to accomplish your calling.  For me, God provided me with this meditation ministry that has spread like perpetual dominoes thanks to readers like you.  God also provided me with an individual who voluntarily posts them on a blog website daily; a technology that I had no knowledge about whatsoever.  Also, leaders of the church decided to post weekly sermons on social media.  As I said when God calls you to do something, He will provide you with what you need to accomplish your calling.
There is one more lesson today.  When you do decide to do what the Lord calls you to do, that’s when He blesses you; blesses you beyond expectation!   Here is my proof.  Just yesterday, my wife shared a positive response from an individual who had watched last week’s sermon on social media.  That individual lived in Pakistan.  Others have shared the daily meditation with friends across the nation and worldwide.  I felt so blessed yesterday because I realized that God led me to overcome obstacles like only He can.  He revealed that He has used me to reach people in most of the continental United States and five of the seven continents of the world!  I stepped out on faith and God stepped in and blessed me!
Now whatever God is calling you to do, step out on faith and pursue your calling! Whatever your part of the body of Christ may be, remember we are all members of one body and Christ is the head! Decide, deliver, and delight yourself by being able to say in due time, “That’s when He blessed me!”  Go now, and use your gift to the glory of God!
“Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out." (Proverbs 16:3 GNT)
