There's a fine line between empathizing for innocent humans who become collateral damage on any side of the border and supporting terrorism over your own country, valuing the human life loss across the border while ignoring our own countrymen dying, expecting the Indian army to stay quite as Pakistan blatantly attacks civilians in India. Don't cross that line.

I’m an Indian living in India. And you need to read this not for politics, but for truth, and for the lives the world keeps ignoring.
On April 22, militants shot and killed 26 people in the Baisaran Valley in Kashmir. Another 17 were injured.
Except for one local Kashmiri man, a government tally of the dead showed that all were Hindu tourists. Accounts from the injured and survivors suggested many were targeted after they were asked about their religion. The attack, which occurred near Pahalgam, a town in the southern part of Indian-administered Kashmir, was one of the worst on Indian civilians in decades.
A group calling itself the Resistance Front emerged on social media to take responsibility. Indian officials privately say the group is a proxy for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist organization based in Pakistan.
Source – New York Times
Pakistan attempted to target a number of military targets in northern and western India including Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, using drones and missiles.
13 killed in Poonch, J&K and over 30 injured.
The fact that global media outlets and certain international bodies still ask India for “proof” of terrorism emanating from Pakistan after what happened to Captain Saurabh Kalia, after the Mumbai attacks, the Pulwama blast, Uri, Pathankot, the targeting of schools, residential areas, temples (Golden Temple Amritsar) is not just insulting, it’s a complete erasure of decades of trauma.
Representatives of their government were present during the funerals of terrorists killed in Indian strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). If their government had no role, what explains their officials attending these funerals?
Source – Deccan Herald
In an open support to terrorism, Pakistan army personnel attended the funeral of three terrorists killed in the Indian military strikes along with members of Hafiz Saeed’s banned organisation, Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) on Wednesday.
Source – Times of India
It’s not a lack of proof, it’s a lack of will to see it.
Pakistan has directly or indirectly supported such attacks, there should absolutely be global consequences, not billion-dollar bailouts.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recently approved a $1.4 billion loan for Pakistan under its climate resilience fund. Additionally, the IMF completed the first review of an existing $7 billion economic stabilization program, unlocking an extra $1 billion in cash for Pakistan. This brings total disbursements under the $7 billion package to $2 billion. India has expressed strong dissent regarding these IMF disbursements, citing concerns over potential misuse of funds to support cross-border terrorism.
What makes this worse is the cycle: they provoke violence, face internal collapse, and then turn to global institutions for aid without dismantling the very systems causing the violence. Meanwhile, India is expected to exercise “restraint,” again and again.
India launched Operation Sindoor.
This wasn’t random. This wasn’t escalation. This was a focused counter-terrorism response to decades of unprovoked attacks.
Operation Sindoor targeted 9 verified terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
These were not Pakistani military facilities. These were training camps, launchpads, arms depots, and safe houses used by terrorist groups responsible for attacks on Indian soil.
India did NOT strike civilians. India did NOT hit military bases.
This was measured. Focused. Non-escalatory.
When India carries out surgical strikes or precision counter-terrorism operations targeting terror camps that are well-documented, Pakistan often flips the narrative, framing itself as the victim. Civilian casualty claims (sometimes unverified or exaggerated) are used to draw international sympathy and muddy the moral clarity of India’s response.
Once again, Pakistan is playing victim, desperately trying to align itself with global sympathy movements like Gaza, despite being the aggressor.
This isn’t a siege. This isn’t genocide. This is a sovereign state knowingly sheltering, funding, and enabling terrorism across its border. The attempt to draw false equivalencies is a calculated PR move to escape accountability, distract from civilian deaths in India, and manipulate global perception.
I want peace. I don’t want war. No one sane does because it’s always the civilians who suffer first and most.
But let’s be honest: the hypocrisy is unbearable. The same people crying for global sympathy over the death of children and women stay silent when our tourists are shot, our schools are bombed, and residential areas are targeted. Where is the outrage for the Indian lives lost? For the families shattered? For the terror we live with daily? Selective empathy isn’t empathy. You can’t weaponize grief for a headline while ignoring the countless Indian civilians who’ve bled for decades. If you truly care about human life, care about all of it – not just the parts that fit your narrative.

i was debating making this post for a long, long time, because i don’t like getting political on a fandom space, but as an indian, i felt the need to talk about this. i can’t engage in fandom content without feeling deeply guilty & worried for all the soldiers and innocent lives already lost and at stake, so here’s a brief masterpost to spread awareness about what’s going on in jammu & kashmir at the moment.
i have linked all my sources, and have aimed to be as unbiased as possible. if you find any discrepancies or inaccuracies, please don’t hesitate to tell me so that i can edit accordingly.
before i get into any of the actual details, i want to talk about what triggered this entire conflict between india and pakistan: the pahalgam attack, which took place on april 22, 2025.
(it’s also worth knowing that the india vs pakistan conflict over J&K is not something that was caused by this isolated incident; there are decades of history between the two countries dating back to the partition of india.)
the pahalgam attack was an attack on 26 tourists by five armed militants in a popular tourist destination known as baisaran valley (located in india-administered kashmir), which is surrounded by dense pine forest and is only accessible by foot or horseback.
the militants singled out the men & asked for their religion, before shooting the hindu and christian tourists. the attackers also asked some tourists to recite the islamic kalima to identify non-muslims. of the 26 people killed, 25 were tourists and one was a local muslim pony ride operator who tried to wrestle a gun from the attackers before being shot. the tourists included several newlywed couples, and the men were shot point-blank in front of their wives.
some hindu men were forced to remove their trousers to check for a lack of circumcision before being shot at close range. the militants also told some hindu women that they were spared so that they could narrate the horrors of their mens’ killing to the prime minister of india, narendra modi.
the national investigation agency (NIA) formally took over the pahalgam terrorist attack case on april 27. the lashkar-e-taiba proxy the resistance front (TRF), claimed responsibility for the attack.
in retaliation to the pahalgam attack, india launched operation sindoor on may 6, 2025.
the indian armed forces carried out precision strikes at around 1 am on terror infrastructure in pakistan and pakistan-occupied kashmir (PoK). nine sites were targeted, and each were selected because they had a history of association with major terror plots and infiltration attempts against india (such as the 2001 parliament attack, the 2019 pulwama attack, and the 26/11 mumbai attacks). no pakistani military facilities were targeted, as stated during the press briefing on may 7.
you can read about the nine sites & why they were targeted here.
as an additional note, it is worth noting that the central government directed all states and union territories to conduct mock drills on may 7 across 244 categorised civil defence districts in the event of a hostile attack.
following the indian attacks on may 7, pakistan resorted to unprovoked artillery shelling across the line of control (LoC), resulting in 13 casualties, with the poonch sector in jammu being the worst hit. this is not the first time pakistan has violated the LoC ceasefire agreement.
as of the time of writing, several cities/districts present on the border of the two countries have been facing blackouts. this comes as a counter-offensive against pakistani drones and missiles which violated the indian airspace several times over the entire western border with the intent of targeting indian military facilities along the western and northern frontiers. however, india was able to neutralise this attempt to hit military stations in jammu and other locations.
tl;dr: this thread on x offers a more concise version of the same events.
the main reason i wanted to make this post is because i saw this post on x and had to take a minute to recover because. genuinely what the actual fuck. in my opinion, a caucasian british person should be the last person speaking up on this matter. the selective activism and hypocrisy is glaringly obvious.

To those celebrating this catastrophe, remember one thing: no politician, celebrity, or icon will come to protect you when the enemy bombs your city. No one will help you when your loved ones will die, no one. So use the brain God gave you and think before you speak. Make wise decisions

Genuinely WTF?
India never attacked “Pakistan” we just attacked “Terrorists camps”, and since terrorists has no religion, India was just attacking terrorists that would have eventually come to our country to conduct further terror attacks.
