Dr. Santhosh Augustine: Staying Healthy on a Budget
Dr. Santhosh Augustine is very health conscious, but he knows that it can be difficult to live a healthy lifestyle on a budget. Many people have the misconception that you need to be wealthy to be in shape, but this isn’t necessarily true. There are many tricks that you can use to save money and still live healthfully.

Cook your own meals. Most raw ingredients are not actually very expensive when purchased in bulk from the grocery store, and they are much healthier for you as well. This is because when you cook on your own, you don’t have the same levels of added sugar or grease that you might see from restaurants. If you don’t know how to cook, start by buying a cookbook aimed at beginners, or even look up some YouTube videos that can teach you how to cook.
Run or walk outside instead of paying for a pricey gym membership. You can get the same workout without spending any money at all, plus you get to enjoy the fresh air and explore your city a bit more. You may even want to consider walking or biking to work instead of driving.

Look for coupons, apps, and membership programs that can help save you money on high-quality food or healthy restaurants. Even if these things have high starting costs, you can save money on them by putting in a little extra time and effort.
Dr. Santhosh Augustine looks forward to helping his patients live a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Santhosh Augustine of Lumberton: How Nutrition Affects Chronic Illnesses
Dr. Santhosh Augustine is trained in both orthopedic and neurological chiropractic. He believes that in order to help patients overcome chronic ailments, they need to incorporate the right nutrition along with treatment. Today, more and more proof has come out about the importance of eating the right foods and the power some foods have to prevent disease.
There are many chronic illnesses linked to poor nutrition and inactivity such as obesity, cancer, diabetes, dental problems and kidney disease. The body was meant to function like a finely tuned machine, but without the proper maintenance, it will fail.
Also read:- Dr. Santhosh Augustine: Get Healthy, 10 to 1
Obesity, for example, is an imbalance between the amount of energy used and the intake of excess calories from sugar, starches or fat. Besides increasing physical activity, there needs to be a reduction in the intake of foods high in fat and sugars. Many times, obesity is a gateway to other chronic illnesses such as diabetes and back problems. Obesity is especially rampant in Lumberton.
Diabetes is a growing epidemic around the world. Excess weight gain, obesity and physical inactivity account for the majority of those afflicted from type 2 diabetes. People who develop diabetes greatly increase their risk of getting heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and infections. By getting regular exercise and maintaining a healthy weight, diabetes may be prevented and treated. Diabetes in Lumberton is very prevalent.
Cardiovascular disease is probably the number one killer worldwide. This disease is caused mainly due to poor diet and physical inactivity. The odds of getting heart disease and a stroke may be reduced by eating less saturated and trans-fats, and following a diet loaded with vegetables and whole grains.
While lung cancer is caused by tobacco use, there are dietary factors that also contribute towards developing other forms of cancer such as mouth, throat, esophagus, liver and breast. Limiting alcohol consumption and making sure to include plenty of fruits and vegetables daily may prevent certain cancers.
Nutrition plays an important role whether young or old. Many elderly people are affected by the onset of osteoporosis and bone fractures. Besides regular exercise, eating a healthy diet and taking in adequate amounts of calcium (500 mg per day or more) and vitamin D may help delay the onset of osteoporosis.
Dr. Santhosh Augustine works with many older patients who already have the onset of osteoporosis and helps them alleviate some of the pain. He not only performs adjustments which help with the discomfort, but also forms a nutritional plan for them to follow. Even if someone already has developed the disease, it may still be slowed or even improved through proper nutrition.

Dr. Santhosh Augustine of Lumberton, North Carolina: Getting to a Healthy Weight
Dr. Santhosh Augustine of Lumberton, North Carolina is a professional chiropractor that has been working in the field for many years now. One of his focuses as a doctor is to make sure that his patients are in overall good health and condition. This includes getting to a healthy weight by eating a proper diet full of fresh, raw greens and unprocessed foods. Even better, there are many simple tricks and tips out there that help you cut corners to cut weight. This means you do not drastically have to change your everyday routine in order to start seeing results. Good news for those having trouble with maintaining a healthy diet.

One simple and easy trick to help lose weight was published in a study of fast food restaurants by the journal of Psychological Reports. This study would find that people who dined in relaxed atmospheres with low lighting and mellow music tended to eat up to 175 less calories than in a normal restaurant environment. This means that by simply setting a mellow and relaxed mood while you eat, it could help you combat overeating problems and help you cut up to 18 pounds in a year. This is likely because many overeaters simply eat too quickly and don’t realize they are full. When you are relaxed however, you are likely to eat slower and recognize that you are full faster.

Another easy tip to help trim the fat is to start eating your fruit instead of drinking it. One study done by the Harvard School of Public Health would learn that people who drank one or more servings of fruit juice every day would increase their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by over 20%! On the other side of the spectrum, people who would consume two servings of whole fruits each week like blueberries, grapes, and apples, reduced their diabetes chances by over 23%.

Unfortunately, many of us have strayed far from the path of healthy eating and living and have become accustom to bad foods and behaviors. That is why if you are looking to get in better shape and be healthier, you may first have to break away from the bonds of addiction and bad habits that you have developed over time.

One way to start eating more nutritious is to stay away from your weaknesses. According to Eatthis.com’s Nutrition Advice, “If you see it, you’ll eat it. If you don’t see it, you’ll still eat it—but not so much. That’s what a study at Google’s New York office, dubbed “Project M&M” found. Office managers discovered that placing the chocolate candies in opaque containers as opposed to glass ones, and giving healthier snacks like nuts and figs more prominent shelf space, curbed M&M intake by 3.1 million calories in just seven weeks. A similar study published in the Journal of Marketing found that people are more likely to overeat small treats from transparent packages than from opaque ones. Out of sight, out of mind, out of mouth.”
By avoiding the foods that you hate to love, you lessen the chance that you will eat them and compromise your diet. To make better choices, make good healthy food more visible. Dr. Santhosh Augustine of Lumberton, North Carolina advocates a healthy diet.

There are many types of food that may speed up recovery and aid in muscle repair.
Usually a diet high in protein and potassium is best for muscle repair; plus plant compounds and omega-3 fats may help to reduce inflammation. These are just a few of the foods that should be added to one’s diet: salmon, blueberries, wild rice and yogurt.
For bruising and inflammation, getting plenty of Vitamin C and Vitamin K are important. Another key ingredient that can mimic over-the-counter anti-inflammatory is leocanthal, a natural substance in olive oil. Eating raw spinach with sliced strawberries, with a dressing made with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Top off the salad with sunflower seeds or pine nuts. For further reduction of inflammation, incorporate pineapple and papaya.
Dr. Santhosh Augustine feels that many people who are suffering from chronic pain may be helped naturally. Dr. Santhosh believes that through chiropractic treatment, many can lead normal lives again.

Health Benefits of Regular Exercise by Dr. Santhosh Augustine
Dr. Santhosh Augustine is an award-winning medical research scientist who has worked for many different biotechnology companies over his long career.
Dr. Santhosh Augustine has been preaching the benefits of regular physical exercise to people throughout his career and offers these three tangible benefits of exercise to everyone:
• Weight control.
Aside from reaching self-imposed milestones for weight, losing and maintaining weight loss can have a large effect on one’s mental health. Losing weight also makes regular exercise easier and prevents a host of potential problems directly or indirectly related to the body taking on too much weight in the future.
• Preventing cardiovascular problems.
Regular exercise, especially cardio workouts, strengthens the heart muscle and makes your arteries and other veins improve their elasticity, which allows them to carry blood more efficiently. Exercise also reduces blood pressure, which, when too high, stresses out your heart and circulatory system.
• Preventing cancer.
Cancer is more random than heart disease, which Dr. Santhosh Augustine warns is the number one killer in the United States, but researchers have identified many different risk factors for cancer that involve lack of exercise.
Dr. Santhosh Augustine has committed himself to being and staying active for most of his life, and it has paid off so far in his daily habits and health.
