World war 1 Collaboration Poem
Poem by my brother Trevor
If I could change the winds of fate, Each soldier would go home, For it's they who gave us freedom, And a spirit free to roam. Their dark sky would be golden, Their battle at it's end, Returning to their loved ones, Free to walk beside a friend. Take the bullet from the gun, And let the wars now cease, Let the poppy be a symbol, Let the whole world live in peace. Let us change the winds of fate, Each person say no more, And take the bullet from the gun, Find peace not hate and war.
By Trevor Wiggan.

A Collaboration of Craftsmen Video - The Time to Remember the Missing Soldier micro sculpture and the memorial clock is on display @thebcag The micro sculpture was made from gold, kevlar, and painted using an eyelash, and then mounted onto the tip of First World War Lee Enfield 303 bullet. The bullet tip was then micro-engraved by Graham Short - At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we shall remember them. The tiny soldier micro sculpture was placed and mounted within a beautiful handmade globe clock made by Tom Powell of Osberg & Martin.

"When I was a kid, I had trouble at school because of my learning difficulties. Carving is my body compensating for my lack of other skills". As a kid, I found both reading and writing did not come to me naturally. Autism, Dyslexia and other learning differences were not that well recognised in schools during the 1960s. The older I became the more aware I was of my repetitive behaviours, my fixation on certain activities, and my continued struggle with reading and writing. A few years ago now it was confirmed that I have Asperger’s syndrome. My own experiences show that these conditions have not been anchors to failure, but have been a path to success. When asked I tell people that these differences are my gifts and have enriched my life not held him back. Considering all I achieved it is fair to say that the boy who was continually told I would amount to nothing and be nothing, I have proved them all profoundly wrong. I encourage anyone with learning differences such as Autism and Dyslexia that these conditions are not disabilities, and they can have positive outcomes. Keep believing in what you do, follow those dreams and never give up. Dr Willard Wigan MBE 😁🙏

Horses are powerful, majestic, and are highly intelligent animals. The micro sculpture took me five to six months to get just right. I had to return to the piece many times until I was satisfied. It is one of those pieces that pushed me to the breaking point, but once complete was very very happy with the final result. The horse was made from nylon and kevlar fibres and painted using dog hair. The gold needle is made out of 24-caret gold. The Greatest Micro Sculptor ExhibitionThe Birmingham Contemporary Art Gallery is now open all other exhibitions are open to the public. Willard's World of Wonder officially opens its doors this Friday 23rd July 2021 Thanks, Dr Willard Wigan MBE

Loving life and working on a new wood carving 🙌 Engaging in others hobbies helps me focus, improves my spirit, and increase happiness. I find it helps boost my imagination and makes me feel more relaxed and calm before starting work on my micro sculpture work. 😊
None crafters, if you have never crafted before, and looking for a hobby or a way to pass the time, then choose a craft, just let go and have fun. Research suggests that crafting can help reduce anxiety, improve mood, and increase happiness, all of which can help fight depression and sadness.
Have a great weekend. Thanks, Dr Willard Wigan MBE
