The siren, she calls me. She says "I'm hungry, I would like more sacrifices". How can I deny her?

8th ball started, page 27. I've officially hit 0.0149% of the pages 👍. It's also large enough that one of my dogs demands to lay on it. It has also almost outgrown the backpack I was shoving it in so I could work on it during car rides. I'll transfer it back to the big bag soon.

7th ball, top of page 22. Haven't been working on it since my car died and I left it in the back seat. Car is fixed and the blanket grows!

4th ball destroyed, 5th as well (it was only a small amount). Onto the 6th. The blanket, it hungers.

4th ball of yarn, a bag upgrade, and 17 pages in. I now have two totes dedicated to sacrifices to the Doom Blanket. I have started worshipping it, feeding it sacrifices. It hungrily consumes all around it. All hail the Doom Blanket.

Finally out of the 5 pages of repeating pattern, now into a space of randomness again. With how many 0s are in the code, it's turning into a garter blanket with random interesting bits. The amount of mistakes I've made? Too many. I'm not fixing them, it's not like I expected it to be perfect. The first ball of yarn is gone, and the second is actually not too offensive. 8 pages down!

Still going strong. Fun fact, after page 2 of the code, there's 5 straight pages of the same repeating code. 5. Pages. No. Changes. Long story short, it's a good thing I got a PDF made early in because I was taking multiple screenshots to mark where I was. Also get ready for a horrible color change after this yarn runs out. It is a crapghan after all.

I was recently contacted by another stubborn knitter @sicpvon and it reignited my love for this project. I finally sat down and broke down the numbers.
For this project to be blanket width and end evenly, I will be casting on 536. That's doable! Some fun stats for you numbers people:
There are 715,493 "words", each with 8 numbers. That comes to 5,723,944 stitches. Scary! By casting on 536 stitches, I'll be doing 67 "words" a row. And how many rows does that come out to? 10,679. Game on.
The casting on starts today. Pictures of progress will be posted. Stay tuned for this massive project!

The Doom Knitting Project FAQ:
1. What is this project?
There was this lovely post on my dash about the possibilities to knit Doom. I'm a knitter, I have a lot of bad yarn I could use on this monstrosity, and I've got no life! (Plus I like memes). All knitting will be done off this.
2. Why random yarn?
Look my guy, yarn is expensive and I've got a LOT of yarn to burn through. I've made two crapghans (this will be the 3rd. Yes I'm making it blanket size) and I still have too much yarn that nobody in my house really wants to use.
3. You're not the first, @knittingdoom was first.
Yes they are! But my doom knit will be different, mainly because I'm using random colors and sticking to worsted weight.
4. What will you use Ko-fi donations for?
Feeding my 6 rescue idiots. Seriously, my dogs are on high end food with two on two different prescription diets. While it's not a problem for me to cover this cost, every little bit helps. It's no biggie if you don't donate. Reblogging this crazy ass project will help as well.
5. What is your main account.
@duckydotducky . I post random shit there!
