This has honestly been sitting in my WIPS for the longest time and wanted to do text alongside it but didn't know what to put so it was just left sitting, that was until the second trailer came out with that little tag line and I was like AHA! Thanks trailer!

Idk what I was going for exactly other than I wanted it to be abstract and spectrally looking, like a page you’d see from scary stories to tell in the dark. I hope I hit that kind of vibe and then finalized this by changing the color scheme to match the feel of the new trailer.

summary -> just talking about his fanancial status

I just wanna make some things clear, Asa is definetly not rich

Yes, he has a PhD in Entomology

But only because some people refer to him as "Dr. Asa Emory" doesn't mean my man is rich

Even if he'd be extremely experienced as an Entomologist (as in the Top 10%), he'd earn $90.000 - $110.000 per year

Which is less than what an General Practitioner (Family Doctor) earns in a year (-> $200.000 - $250.000)

Asa isn't rich, he is just resourceful

Asa (not the Collector) is a pretty minimalist person (except maybe for his bug collection)

He doesn't have a girlfriend or wife, he doesn't wear expensive watches or drives extraordinary cars

He's just a normal guy (well, more or less, but for people like his colleagues)

Which is exactly what he needs and wants!

"But how can he finance his traps/hostages/equippment?"

As we can see in the first movie "the collector", ha had a part-time job as an exterminator (at least I'd assume it's a part time job, since he still worked as an Entomologist) ($600 - $1.600 per month)

Due to his part-time job he'd be able to finance (a lot) of his equippment (if he even does it for a month straight..)

I MEAN, maybe he only did it for this ONE gig at this particular house.. (since he just put that logo on his van and ripped it off at the end of the movie)

But maybe (which I personally don't think) he sells some illegal stuff (like Organs) to finance his 'hobby'

Plus, he is methodical

He recycles, he builds his traps himself and he plans all his things (expenses, murders, probably everything he does tbh)

Plus, I don't think he worries too much about his 'prisoners' -> either they get tortured and turned into one of his art-pieces or they become 'Zombies' (those things from the second movie, ya'll know what I'm talking about)

I don't EVER want someone to describe him as 'rich' ever again (eat the rich) -> he's methodical, he wants to act like a normal and average dude that no one would expect to be a murderer
