Looking for recommendations
I’ll be graduating next month and im looking to buy a bottle for the special occasion to enjoy.
I’m quite new to the world of wine and would love any recommendations for a special bottle (budget $150) to enjoy with family. Im a fan of dry Rieslings (German/Alsatian), high acidity, as well as Napa Cabs( originally from the area).
I would love recommendations from any region and if it helps I would be trying to source this in the greater Boston area.
Many thanks!

What is a good app that lets you keep track of wines you've tried? Bonus if it has a social network to share with friends.
My friend has an app like that for beer, I'm wondering which wine tracker app is best?

Prefer beer
I’m going to a nice restaurant and everyone will be drinking wine. Would it be considered down market to ask for a splash of soda water with my white wine? Ordering beer won’t be an option.

Sea Smoke, Ten or Southing, or none
It's allocation time and contemplating skipping this year. The prices for both Southing and Ten are the same, and they've have somewhat converged in style.
Has anyone else been disappointed at the last couple vintages?
For reference, I buy quite a bit of Pinot from the region, everything from Melville to Paul Lato, so $80 for something just good, isn't good enough. Dropped Foxen last year because their pinot's have tilted (more?) to Syrah style Pinot fruit bombs that need 8 years at least before balancing out.

Is there an online marketplace/trading place for collected labels?
I know collecting labels is a passion among enthusiasts, and people save them to show off the vintages they've tasted, but I was wondering if there's an arena where people get together (virtually or IRL) to trade/sell/etc. Curious for a project I'm working on. Thanks so much!

Thought the wine community might enjoy this! Found at a thrift store for $8, I believe it was once apart of the Smithsonian exhibition of Mouton Rothschild ‘Paintings for The Labels’. May even be signed by a Rothschild, I’m not sure!

Cotes du Rhone and then some.
Recently dipped into some Cotes du Rhone reds (Guigal and St. Cosme as suggested here) and loved them. Wondering if anyone here has any recommendations for similar offerings from Cotes du Rhone (or elsewhere) and where to head after that (Cotes du Rhone Villages, Gigondas, CdP?). Thanks!

Looking for Literature that Focuses on German Wine Industry
Howdy I am studying for advanced and want to do an in depth with possibly my favorite wine country in the world Germany! Was curious if anybody could recommend any good literature that specializes in the modern German wine industry and regions. Thanks!
P.S. My two main sources for info outside of the Court of Master Sommelier's textbooks are the Wine Bible and the Oxford Companion to Wine both of which I kind of lack on their German information.

The impossible search. It was a Chardonnay, around $10.00-$15.00, CA, WA or OR, lady with a festive Mexican dress on the label, the name was La something, or Le something. Help me find it please.
My husband finished the bottle and recycled it and now I cannot remember it. And I can’t remember where I got it. Google is no help.
