a few doors down from me my neighbors have a squirrel bar nailed to the tree in front of the sidewalk, not exactly this but something like this:
it's been there for years and they never "stock" it so it's just sitting there. anyway, i thought it would be cute to make a little squirrel out of sculpey and leave it on one of the stools in the middle of the night. i also made a little sculpey beer bottle with its own label.
it lasted exactly one day and now it is gone. it didn't fall off, i stuck it on with tape. what do you think happened to it? your most fantastical and wrong answers only, please

Should’ve used AI to write this poem cause the organic kind isn’t cutting it
#AI users are big mad on this lmfao#“term papers suck to write” hits so hard for people without critical thinking skills#the point of a term paper is yes 1 so that you produce gradeable work#but it's also so you learn to think critically about xyz and learn how to organise your thoughts and construct an argument#and communicate your thoughts to someone else#THAT'S what OOP means when they say love yourself enough to write your own term papers#if you offload all your thinking and opinion forming to a robot you *will* just lose that skill#I've heard people compare the rise of AI usage to the rise of calculators in times past but to me the difference is doing arithmetic isn't#a core part of the human experience the way *communication* is#if while you're learning you offload all the tasks that are meant to teach you to communicate to a non-thinking machine then you're just no#going to be as good at communicating both via text and in person#I find all the people in my life interesting because of the way they think about things#I love talking to my friends about what they thought about xyz and how they interpreted xyz and how that differed because of their#experiences and prior knowledge#if they *didn't* think about things because they got a robot to do it all for them then like what's the point?#and to the people who are like “love the work of what? writing 101 level slop?”#to reach the level of writing at a PhD level or even a professional level you need to start with 101 level and if you think it's beneath yo#and if you think it's too easy then why not write it in 2 hours and then move on with your life#the actual thing is like if you want to use a tool to do all your thinking for you then that's fine but be prepared to lose the skills#you would otherwise be using to do the thinking for yourself#also christ the defensiveness & rudeness about a person making art that's meaningful to them?? like even ratatouille (the kids movie!!) got#that even the worst sloppiest piece of art that someone took the time to make#has more merit than every lazy asshole with access to chatgpt going “a robot could have done this better”#or “this is bad because I disagree with it”#exhibit A of lacking critical thinking skills tbh#ENGAGE with the poetry if you want to dunk on it it's more fun that way anyway#discourse

the other day I was on a bus sitting behind a kid, maybe 12-13 yo, who was listening to spotify
as I could clearly see what artists he was browsing a feeling welled in me to... connect. To experience the song he decided to listen to on his commute back home. Is it one of his favourites? Will I like it? Will he unknowingly leave a mark on me and my future public transport commutes around the city? Could life really be so beautiful? So I popped my spotify open, typed in the name of the song ive never heard of before, located the very specific album cover and pressed play
