Honestly the possibilities with Amb's identity would be so interesting to explore-

Me personally, I was kinda thinking his major crisis when he was young was the discomfort that came from people around him (*cough * the Director *cough*) making it as if he was supposed to feel uneasy about himself and his physique ( *cough* 'cause the Director is probably homophobic, so I doubt she wouldn't be interphobic too *cough*)

But I think the point is that his line™️ has the potential to be interpreted in many, many ways - and they could all lead to some exquisite cooking.

In the end, it's great to actually have him find his way and achieve his very own happiness :')

I've been messing around with shadows and small details for this one, I don't know exactly what I've achieved, but to be honest I like it lel-

Not too sure about the eyebrows shadow, but at the same time it gives off a nice feel of je ne sais quoi.

And I've peaked with Amb's hair. Look at it. Peak.

Sometimes when I look at Amb's parents I feel a little guilty that I pretty much fell into the cliché of "parent that looks like an exact copy of their child".

Because, well, Rowan is an exact copy of Ambrosius.

But then I remember that's because, when I decided his mom was gonna be a bad person, I categorically refused to have him look anything like her.

And I feel less guilty.

I have something to say.

I hc C!Ambrosius as intersex.

Follow the reasoning for a sec.

There's a line from Amb, in the comic, when he's fighting the dragon beast.

"How's it feel to be stuck in one body like the rest of us?"

What if.

What if he's been going through a veiled crisis ever since he became Champion, because the Institution started pushing its toxic masculinity standards on him.

He'd just wish to be able to change in any way he likes to fit into that image - physically, but honestly also emotionally, because I feel like Ambrosius does enjoy things conventionally considered "feminine" (which only makes him feel worse in his situation)

But then.

Post canon he returns to being comfortable with himself, because slowly but surely he acknowledges that he's the only person who gets to decide and define his own identity.

Not others' ideas or expectations. Just what he feels.

I can't put complex thoughts into words, but I tried.

Yes, all of this because of one single line.

Look, I just think it would add another interesting layer to Ambrosius's character and another aspect to his character growth-

I need someone to tell me this idea does sound cool.

Grandpa Rowan doodle based off @letternumbersash 's post because it's been the nicest jumpscare I got this week (hope it isn't a problem I made a drawing about it, actually 👉🏻👈🏻)

Rowan is sensitive when it come to family, meeting his baby grandson would just have him melt like ice-cream under the sun.

Rowan has always loved being a father, but he can't deny his experience with parenthood wasn't all ideal: he had Ambrosius when he was still young, not doing great financially and married to a woman who, at that poit, he didn't love anymore.

Coming back years later, seeing his boy all grown up, and happy, and and in a loving marriage, and with a kid of his own - it's making him emotional in all the best ways possible ♡
