the idea that primo was too old to be nihil's son could be a potential reason for the retcon that he was actually his brother, but like. the part of my mind that actively seeks out angst for any and all characters wants me to say that primo was still nihil's kid. and that nihil was just pressured into providing an heir at a way too young age because the church wasn't satisfied with his output of music (only three songs) and wanted to ensure that his impulsive lifestyle wouldn't get in the way of the bloodline.

it's both funny and tragic to imagine that, in all of those flashbacks we've seen of era 0, primo was already around, and nihil just. wasn't interacting with him. at all. because he probably didn't really see primo as his son, just the heir he was forced to produce before he was ready or even willing.
