Dustin, does your leg being a bit longer than the other bother you at all? Does your hip dysplasia ever hurt?

Dustin: This leg does a big step and this leg does a small step. It hurts when I walk too much.

Rob: He's a bit wobbly in general. I thought more leg exercise would help him build up a resistance, but the doctor said it doesn't work that way. We just have to wait until we can afford the surgery and, in the meantime, reduce how much he's on his feet. It'll just get worse as he grows up.

Dustin: Stairs are bad. They make my leg hurt.

Rob: Stairs and any kind of incline or rough terrain, unfortunately.

What does a day in the life of Dustin Watterson look like?

Gumball: Well, he–

Dustin: No, Baba! It's my question!

Gumball: Okay, okay, buddy! Go ahead.

Dustin: I wake up in the morning and I eat breakfast with Baba and Dada. Then Dada goes to work and I get sad because I miss him...

Gumball: Aww.

Dustin: But it's okay, because Baba is still there. And sometimes Scylla and Marino come over. Or I go to their house with Uncle Darwin and Aunt Carrie.

Gumball: You like getting ice cream, don'tcha?

Dustin: I love ice cream! Sometimes we get it for lunch.

Gumball: What happens after lunch?

Dustin: Before dinner, me and my toys have a tea party. Then Baba starts making food. Then Dada comes home and we eat our dinner.

Gumball: Then it's bedtime and your Dada reads you a bedtime story. And he always falls asleep while putting you to sleep, even though he says he's going to stay awake and come back to bed with me... (rolls eyes)

When did your glitches/skin start healing and coming back?

Gumball: Aww, Rob, we get to talk about your awkward phase!

Rob: It started when I was around 14 and... yeah, I did look awkward for a while. My hair went from solid to spiky to this weird hay-like texture, and then it was back to normal.

Gumball: Plus, you only had that little bit of midriff, the rest of your shirt was empty. Then it sort of grew up, but really slowly, so you just had part of your torso missing for most of your teen years.

Rob: The doctors would not leave me alone about that. Probably some kind of medical mystery or whatever... I don't like doctors.

Gumball: And I think your blue skin still spreads further every few years, but you're too old and senile now to heal the rest of the static away.

Rob: Really, Gum? I'm 29. You're 28.

Have you ever caught Dustin plotting world domination?

Rob: He thinks about it.

Gumball: What? When?

Rob: I've caught him throwing his toys across the room, pretending to be an evil genius piloting a giant mech suit of destruction.

Gumball: Why are you smiling? We're not supposed to support evil!

Rob: I wouldn't be against it...

Gumball: Rob.

Rob: Well, we just have to make sure that he stays on our side.

Gumball: Rob!

Rob: Family must come first or evil cannot prosper!

speaking of nicole and richard! what are gumball and rob's relationships with them like?

Gumball: I'm fine with my parents.

Rob: Not me, my parents have a "not existing" problem.

Gumball: Um... well, I think my mom is proud of me for having a career, and my dad is proud that I'm taking after him. Even though I'm not... I'm not, right, Rob?

Rob: No, no, you're not lazy.

Gumball: Good.

Rob: Nicole used to be suspicious of me and I can't blame her. But she likes that I make a lot of money and don't commit crimes anymore.

Gumball: She thinks that you don't commit crimes anymore.

Rob: Hey, I have a job and a life to keep now, so we don't talk about that. And you also got into plenty of trouble as a kid that never got brought up again.

Gumball: Oh, yeah, more so than you!

Rob: Heh, anyway, your mom is scary, even when she's nice to me, so I'm going to stay on her good side.

Gumball: As we all should.

Gumball, what made you want to become a chef? Have you worked at any five-star restaurants or anything? Haha

Gumball: Well, when I was younger, I had no idea what I wanted my career to be. It was Rob who convinced me to enter culinary arts.

Rob: Since I've always loved your cooking.

Gumball: Aww, babe, that would be more flattering if You didn't grow up eating trash.

Rob: Hey, but my stomach is sensitive and you've never upset it.

Gumball: True. Anyway, my first official job was a fry cook. Looking back, it wasn't as big as I thought it was, but I loved every second of it.

Rob: So we graduated from college with Cinematic Arts and Culinary Arts degrees respectively.

Gumball: And I actually was a pastry chef at a pretty nice restaurant before Dusty was born. Not that he killed my dreams or anything, because being a dad was one of my dreams too.

does dustin spend time with his grandparents as well?

Gumball: Yeah, he does! They're not our first option for babysitters, but they love Dusty and we try to visit at least a few times a year. I think they appreciate how he's calmer than five-year-old me.

Rob: Not the calmest, though. He has his moments.

Gumball: True. And sometimes I get worried about what my mom teaches him.

Rob: What do you mean?

Gumball: Well, I don't think it was TV or Darwin's family that taught him "When life gives you lemons, squeeze them right back into life's eyes".

How well does Dustin get along with his cousins?

Gumball: They get along great! ... Most of the time.

Rob: It's just that Dusty has some issues with sharing, letting other people get their way, that kind of thing.

Gumball: We always taught him to be nice, but he gets that from Rob.

Rob: Uh, no, gets that from both of us. We were both jerks.

Gumball: Yeah, true. Anyway, sometimes Dusty gets greedy with toys. But Scylla is taller and Marino floats, so he loses the fight pretty quick and gets all grumpy about it.

Rob: But then he forgives and forgets when you get him ice cream, so it all works out.

oh can i ask when your relationship with each other got more serious? how long have u guys been dating and how did it all start?

Rob: Gum and I were serious from the start, honestly.

Gumball: Were we?

Rob: We... were?

Gumball: Didn't feel serious to me.

Rob: I thought it was serious the whole time.

Gumball: Ha, well, that's just in-character for you, isn't it?

Rob: (rolls eye)

Gumball: We started dating a bit after me and Penny broke up, so around... gosh, 15 years ago.

Rob: What happened, again?

Gumball: Nothing really happened. We just, like, got bored of each other. I ran out of ideas to impress her.

Rob: Right, so she ran out of reasons to keep tolerating your bull–

Gumball: ROB!

Rob: (smugly smiling)

Gumball: ...Anyway, we're both still friends with her, but she lives a little far away now after cutting contact with some family members.

Rob: Gum and I were already more like friends than enemies when that break-up happened, and we started to get interested in each other.

Gumball: Yes, you see, Rob came to my doorstep and begged me–

Rob: That's not what happened! You asked me out.

Gumball: Well, I'm not the one who got so flustered that he fainted.

Rob: Ugh, we're going to be here all day.

Rob, how's the filmmaking job going? What kind of films do you specifically work on?

Rob: I specialize in directing action and drama-type films, occasionally horror.

Gumball: I'm glad I could convince you to take year-long breaks between those films.

Rob: Well, we would make more money if I didn't, and I really don't think I need–

Gumball: Shh. Babe, I love you for your perseverance, but you need breaks.

Rob: Fine. I guess I do, since these projects are at least a year long by default. And I spend almost the whole week at work during filming and post-production. So, yes, being a director can be intense but I enjoy it. I'm passionate about these kinds of things.

Gumball: Shocker.

Gumball: Not a scrapbook, but me and Rob have lots of pictures in our bedroom. They take up almost every wall.

Rob: And I have a bulletin board full of photos and drawings in my office at work. It boosts my morale.

Gumball: Maybe we should make a scrapbook!

Rob: We take so many pictures, it would be more like a series of scrap-novels.

Gumball: Pshh, yeah, at least ten of them.

Gumball: She was my idea! It wasn't long after our honeymoon when we decided to visit the local animal shelter on a whim. Of course, we adopted her for her amazing "family dog" personality and gave her a pink collar.

Rob: You adopted her because she looks like me.

Gumball: Rob, we've been over this.

Rob: Look, I don't even care, but I want you to admit it. This dog ignored us completely while the other puppies were sticking their paws through the bars to get to us. You wanted her because she's one of those cyclops dogs.

Gumball: She has black fur and a green eye and long ears! You don't!

Rob: Heh, argue with the wall.

Gumball: We just have to work something out with his teachers, 'cause they can't make him do PE or anything like that. Lucky.

Dustin: That's because one of my legs is wonky.

Gumball: Yeah, sorry honey, but we probably won't be able to fix that until you're in high school.

Dustin: Why?

Gumball: Something about how long it'll take to pay off your heart surgery... I dunno, it's Rob who does our finances. Don't worry about it, buddy.

Dustin: The doctor said my heart gets tired too fast. That's why they fixed it a little. (traces line down chest) I have a big boo-boo underneath my shirt.

Gumball: You mean the scar from your surgery.

Dustin: Yeah. Is high school a long time away?

Gumball: I sure hope so. I don't want you to grow up that fast. Aw, no, now I'm getting emotional... Rob, h-help!
