The same day I finished Slickrock, I met Dustin Tran in Ouray, CO, and we climbed our first Fourteener—Mt. Sneffels. Its name is whimsical but the face is anything but—loose, ankle-rolling rocks layered on vertigo-inducing grades bring one to a small 5 foot ledge before the summit where a slip of the hand or foot would guarantee instant death.
