LINK HAS MOVED TO A NEW ACCOUNT.

I will be moving Link to how own main account in the coming days and archiving this side blog. I'll let you know when I do that. Any owed replies will come from the new account. I'm doing this to keep my dash more relevant to tloz and untangling things from my Elsa account.

Link’s eyes narrowed, jaw tightening just a fraction. He didn’t respond to the jab about being a silent knight, not to the dismissive wave of Kohga’s hand, and certainly not to the condescending finger crook like he was some stray mutt to be called to heel, but when Kohga spun around with that grin plastered across his face, so smug and self-satisfied it practically oozed off of him, Link’s fingers twitched at his side.

The sheikah slate. Of course he wanted the slate. Kohga’s eyes glittered like a kid asking for a piece of candy he had no intention of paying for.

Link lifted one eyebrow, his expression blank, empty, the way it got when he was sizing up an enemy who thought they had him cornered. He reached for the slate slowly, deliberately, as if considering just how much damage it could do if he used it to clock Kohga upside the head.

Instead, he held it up just out of Kohga’s reach, tilting it side to side, as if appraising it. His eyes met Kohga’s, and for one brief, pointed second, Link let a ghost of a smirk pull at the corner of his mouth.

Oh, yeah. It could take them anywhere. A cliff. A lake. Maybe the middle of a monster camp.

Link’s turned it over once, twice, as if inspecting it for dust. His grip tightened slightly, but his face remained passive, unreadable. The Slate hung loosely from his hand, just out of reach, and his gaze was steady, almost bored. A slow breath escaped his nose. Then he shrugged, as if the whole thing was barely worth the effort, and held the Slate just a little higher, letting the blue runes glint in the light.

"Nothing to say for yourself?" Kohga regards Link for a second or two longer, his hand hanging suspended midair, before shrugging it off with a snort. He wipes his hand on his side as if Link had shaken it. "Alrighty then, you sure live up to your reputation. Silent Knight. Or whatever it is they say about you."

"Well, that's fine by me. I don't like 'em sassy and combative. Those types aren't too good at following orders and gettin' what needs to be done, done. Nope, no fun at all."

"C'mon," he crooks a finger, beckoning Link to follow like a dog, "I've got work for you to do."

Then, getting an idea in that overinflated head of his, Kohga stops so abruptly that were Link not paying attention, he'd run right into the Yiga master's backside.

"Actually," Kohga swivels around on one foot like a spintop toy, "I'm gonna need to see that Sheikah thingamajig for this. You got it on hand? It can take us anywhere, riiiight?"

I'm still sick as heck but getting better. Apologies for the lack of activity here. I've been goofing off on my atla muses but Link is awake and he's been emojied. I'll be getting those replies queued over my days off. I'm hyped for all of them!

Link puts a hand to his chin, pretending to think it over. "Hmm. So, wreck the kingdom, beat Ganondorf, look insanely handsome while doing it... Sounds like a solid plan." He shoots Zelda a playful grin. "Think I should practice my smolder now or wait until after the destruction?"

He crosses his arms and frowns. "What? How is that terrifying? It’s genius! Think about it —all our skills, all our strength, all our courage, combined into one ultimate hero!"

"Okay, okay, so maybe he’d be a little overpowered. But hey, at least he’d be distractingly handsome while accidentally demolishing everything in sight." He gives her a sheepish grin. "You know, silver linings."

He crosses his arms and frowns. "What? How is that terrifying? It’s genius! Think about it —all our skills, all our strength, all our courage, combined into one ultimate hero!"

Link stood silently at first, eyes on the older warrior, his predecessor. The words hung in the air between them. His brows furrowed just slightly in thought as he glanced down at the battered Hylian Shield strapped to his back that had weathered guardians, fire, the malice of evil, and time itself. Then, slowly, he nodded. He drew the shield from his back, holding it with both hands for a moment, as though seeing it differently now. Reverently. Not just as a piece of armor or a tool for survival, but as something sacred.

The wind stirred the grass around them, and Link let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. Without a word, he looked up at the older Link and met his gaze, his voice steady, he said, “I’ll remember.”
