@rcguish || cat autism

"I'm being punished, aren't I," she muttered finally, pressing her face into her hands. "Are you telling me the cats with coins glued to their heads are normal and not just a one off prank. Is that why one of them spat a whole glob of dark magic at me when I poked it? Do all your coin cats just spit dark magic at people?"
Not that it had hurt or anything so much as just been annoying but the principle of the matter!
"No, you know what never mind. I'm going to go poke the magic coin cats some more. Thank you, goodbye."

❝ I can be charming. I charmed you, didn’t I? ❞

"Sure." She grins, twirling around slightly to face Wolfwood before she lifts a brow at him. "But I think I charmed you, don't you think? That's why you're still here!"
Well, that and her penchant for just believing every sob story that she stumbled over, or chasing off into alleys to help.
"Right mister bodyguard?"

@drgnbld || sorry, i'm blinded by dragons

"Well, you're not the dragon I was looking for." She squints down at the circle under her hands for a moment, frowning. The magic was right this time, the circle was right... She definitely should have pulled a dragon hero, not... some guy. Right?
Maybe she just hadn't pulled hard enough? Unless she had and dragons from wherever he was from took on human forms?
"Unless you're actually a dragon?"

on love and loyalty:
she gives them easily, as she does with every piece of her that she gives away; once given, they're not easily lost. very little will cause leanne to retract her love or loyalty once it's been given, and she'll go to incredibly ridiculous lengths for people she's taken into her circle. as long as someone she's given herself to doesn't cross a line that she can't overlook anymore, she can and will follow them to the ends of the universe without question or thought if they just asked.
reciprocation is not required; it's not uncommon for her to give herself entirely to people who, in reality, do not deserve the devotion she's willing to give and more than once she's done so only to have the other person spare her very little care in return.

Oh he's a lot worse off than she'd thought. With that in mind, Le pops up and into the house to yell for her mother, already reaching for a phone to call for an ambulance. She didn't think they'd be able to move this guy safely without medical professionals if she's honest.
It's fortunate they're as fast to arrive as they are, emts hurriedly working to get him and his pokemon stabilized. Le opts to go with them, both as the person who found him and as an official league representative who could authorize any medical procedures that might be required.
"Oh. You're awake–don't move okay? I'm gonna get a nurse! You've been out for ages, you don't wanna be moving around yet."
Le hopped out of her seat, hurrying for the door. On the floor, Snickers lifted his head to stare at Friede, yawning before propping his head on the bed beside his hand as his trainer stuck her head out the door to speak to someone for a brief moment. When she returned, he stayed where he was, tail wagging slowly.
"Nurse on the way. I'm Leanne; you crashed down in my mom's garden. Oh! Your charizard is fine, by the way. The pokemon center did what they could but some of it just needed time to heal so I've been taking care of him for you. He'll be glad to hear you're awake."
somehow he feels everything and yet nothing all at once. nothing, because if asked where it hurts, there would be no pointing it out, not to where all the pain starts. whoever is poking at him though registers dull by comparison, muted among the wildfire that has erupted throughout his body and the sensation that acid is being directly pumped into his veins.
breathe. breathe. he can't get the air into his lungs. fuck. what had he done? was this it? please don't let this be it. fingers twitch, their tips just barely starting to curl and claw into the ground beside him, as if trying to feel for a missing something — but what?
there's a pokeball, landed several yards away. it's cracked in half, broken beyond any sort of repair.
' … don't move. ' ringing ears vaguely pick up the words spoken to him. though still tensed ( fearful of even the tiniest additional shock along screaming nerves ), the minute movement of his hand stops. but if there's any other sign that the professor is still alive aside from raspy attempts to take in oxygen, it's the few hot tears that break away at the corners of a half-lidded, glassy gaze, and the weak plea that follows—
❝ … help. ❞

"Oh. That's not too bad then." Three for three...? That feels right. "Calofax is particular about bargains. I made it, so I pay it. You'd have to bargain to take on the debt if you wanted to pay it." And no guarantee he'd agree to such a bargain.
"It'll be fine. He's very good about following the rules and doesn't try to bend them."
“It should’ve been my debt to pay, considering what happened.” a beat, as Merlin tried to stall for time. “But… he wasn’t specific. He mentioned something about borrowing your sight for a few hours, I think.” The last book was placed back, and he pushed himself off to another shelf to fix.

"So it is important." But if she owes a favor and doesn't remember it then it's definitely Calofax's doing. She doesn't know why he'd make her forget, but there was probably a reason. Leanne squints for a moment as she sets a few things back in their places.
No, nothing. She'd have to wait for him to come collect.
"What did I tell you I owed?"
“Don’t.” a simple command, the mirth and nervousness bleeding away. “It’s not important, Le.” Merlin fell silent as he tucked books back into their spots.
“You owe a favour, leave it at that.”

"..." A suspicious look at him. "What was that?" Was she forgetting something important again? It felt like it, a little. ... Calofax might have done a little more than expected.
"What am I forgetting?"
“P-Probably for the best,” Merlin was surprised she didn’t remember – well it’s fine. He has to deal with that at some point anyway. “Avalon’s not really a place mortals should be at anyway. The magical pressure would kill you alone by stepping into it.”

"I was thinking more centralized than even this." Maybe later though, she knows she has a potion to mimic this effect somewhere. And if not, she can brew one up quickly. "I've never been so I couldn't compare." The local fae might have though.
“Bad call. Don’t want that.” Did she want trees uprooted and the rivers going crazy? Absolutely not. He wasn’t about to go pissing off the fae in this area if he could avoid it. “Let’s just keep it centralised for now.” He floated away to gently push other things down, letting them fall accordingly – minus the potions. those he carefully pushed back into place.
Merlin did a loop in the air, “It reminds me a bit of Avalon. Gravity isn’t really a thing there, but it kind of is? Paradoxial in nature, I suppose.”

"We should recreate it outside." A sigh. At least he'd been smart about his little experiment and not actually risked anything. Best she could ask of him really.
“Didn’t think it would.” Merlin hummed as he spun around in the air, “Yep! Can’t go any higher than the ceiling. Objects can only go about ummm, table height. I wasn’t about to let things just float off aimlessly. It’s also only centralised here so no one outside the place is involved. Though they might be if they decide to open the door.”

"Yes but this doesn't get you off the hook." She reaches up to tug at him lightly. "Did you factor in a safety limit for how high the gravity lets you float before it stops rising?"
“Where’s the fun in asking questions when I can simply apply my critical thinking skills, and do it myself?” He booped her nose, returning gravity to Leanne and letting her drop onto the bed.
“There, you’re safe and sound. Happy?”

"I could have told you they were wrong, of course it affects gravity." That was the like, most basic knowledge ever. She accepts the steering, huffing at him and knocking her head against his. "I do but some warning next time would be nice."
“Wanted to try a theory out, and come to find out whoever said gravity can’t be affected needs their ‘applying magic to physics is impossible’ thesis thrown out the window.” He’s going to float over and gently steer Leanne to where she’ll fall safely onto something soft. “You’ve trusted me before when I do something like this, do you doubt me still?”
