Welcome to DWMAINSWAP!

This is a blog made for a Dandy's World AU that's been in the works for several months! I'm hoping to continue working on this with my free time and let it really grow into something special. But first. . .

. . . is probably what you're saying. Well, hey there! I'm the sole writer and artist behind this blog. This is all a one-person project (with, admittedly, some use of my partner for bouncing the occasional ideas back and forth) so everything you see here is all done by me (unless otherwise stated). You can call me "Clapper" or "Director" and I use they/it pronouns! If you can't find the right gender neutral term for me, I'd prefer you pick masculine ones over feminine. I'm also open to NEOs if you wanna get funky with it!

My favorite canon Dandy's World characters are Looey, Connie, Astro, and Glisten! Gameplay wise I usually play as Yatta or Looey. I cannot distract to save my life (my internet would never allow, unfortunately)

This blog is based on a horror game! Additionally, the writer behind it enjoys exploring darker topics in fiction. As such, there WILL be uncomfortable/unsettling content shown or referenced through art and writing.

All posts containing triggering content will be properly tagged with a warning (i.e. #tw gore)- PLEASE filter any tags that contain something that may be upsetting to you.

This AU has an entire side focused on the plot of the in-universe show that doesn’t delve into any of the scary stuff. Do not be ashamed if you only want to engage with that part of this AU!

YES!! I LOVE receiving art or writing of my characters!! Feel free to @ this blog or send it as an ask to make sure I see it!

"Can I draw EXPLICIT material of your designs?"

As long as it is the ADULT characters, I am completely comfortable with this! Just please KEEP THAT IN ADULT SPACES. Be respectful of any kids who enjoy this blog and avoid letting them see that. Duh!

"Can I make OCs inspired by your blog?"

Feel free! I'd love to see what amazing characters my work can inspire!

"So what is this blog all about?"

I'm working on an AU master post I promise! But to summarize: this is a Dandy's World AU with the MAINs are swapped to be different toons. Additionally, this is an actor AU where the toons were made to film their show. All characters have been reimagined and renamed! Consider them to be separate characters, because there are some relatively big differences for many of them!

Hello, hello! Why thank you!! Character design/writing is basically my favorite creative outlet so I’m glad it’s enjoyed!

Shrimpo’s still pretty brash and can be sort of a bully- but he’s definitely not as one dimensional as before. Additionally, his poor behavior can be forgiven much easier! You’ll see why once his design and character blurb are out ;]

In case any of you were curious for what stats would be the specialty of the mains in this au! Not sure how IMPORTANT this will be to my writing and such, but if others wanted I could definitely make stats + abilities for them.

As you’ve likely noticed, Mainswap is an Actor AU, and as such there ARE (typically very minor) differences between the characters on and off camera. One of the biggest differences would be with Blimp-O

You’d expect the Glisten of this universe to be the diva, huh? Don’t worry, Blimp-O only actually drops the goofy idiot act around very select people (Well. . . mostly just one- but you haven’t seen them yet :P) Normally he acts just like his show counterpart- it’s just a bit. . . fake.

Hey, hey! I’m a bug christmas quartet fan, and was wondering if you have a design for Bobette or any other members of the gang? It’s okie dokie if you don’t.

While I haven’t thought too hard on their designs yet, just like all the other toons their rarity (or, in this case, plot relevance) is swapped!

Hi, I’m a huge Rodger fan and I would like to see this AU’s version of him. (Was this too straightforward? Am I being too bossy? I hope I’m not doing anything wrong by asking this question.)

Rodger’s design in this AU is still not finalized, but here’s a doodle of where he’s currently at!

In this universe, he’s not actually a detective! Instead, he is a health and safety inspector. He serves as a minor reoccurring antagonist. He’s by no means evil or bad, however. Just takes his job very seriously!
