Hearing the commotion at a nearby street corner, he felt compelled to go investigate and see what was causing it all. Chrom was originally in town to grab a few more supplies for the convoy towards home, but of course, the prince was no stranger to assisting those in need.

“I see that you’re sort of outnumbered here – several louts against one, clearly.”

He unsheathed Falchion from its scabbard, which put the brigands further on edge (the ones who knew this was actually the Ylissean prince), before pointing it at them. “Handing brigand attacks are kind of my thing, so don’t you worry.”

Though Chrom’s confidence wouldn’t sit well with one of the thugs who then suddenly rushed at him… with a mere rusted dagger no less. He effortlessly parried it out of the thief’s hand in one quick swing, then following up with a swift kick to the gut.

“Guess it goes without saying that I’m on your side.”

  Chrom earned something of a cocky grin from Zero, before his attention was turned back to his assailants. He had no doubt the other could hold his own, given his confidence, and so he raised his own blade to further threaten the rest of the thugs. “I owe you one. Now, I suggest the rest of you scatter.”

  Of course, they were on edge, though the rush of one of their own had prompted another to take up arms as well. The brigand drew a bow- primitive, even by this world’s standards- and took aim at Zero. When the arrow took flight, Zero didn’t even need to move. The arrow bounced harmlessly off of his armor. 

  Zero knelt down for a moment to grasp the arrow, and moved his saber over the arrowhead. It moved over the tip briefly, and as he moved the Z-Saber away, it became evident that his blade had melted the tip of his arrow. With his display of power, he tossed the arrow to the side and once again raised his blade. 

  “Now, anyone else wanna try something funny? Sure doesn’t look like it.”

  Someone had dropped a tip about suspicious activity in downtown Abel City, and Zero, having nothing else to be doing, volunteered to check it out. He, and a small team of other Maverick Hunters, took to the streets, and eventually stumbled upon an energy reading in an old abandoned building. Huh.

  “Right... everyone, behind me.” Zero drew his saber and slowly pushed the front doors open. Nobody seen, at least at first, but he knew from experience to stay on his toes. He’d already lost the element of surprise; in fact, if a Maverick was here, they had that very advantage over him instead. 

  “If you’re hiding, show yourself!”

  Zero was no stranger to helping others with Maverick threats, but he did remain a stranger in arriving to help a human. At least, he assumed the guy was human; Alia was saying quite a bit about how the energy readings from whatever organic he was going to surpassed even that of some of the Maverick Hunters. 

  Human or not, it still left the threat of the rogue Mechanaloid. Massive, spider-themed; it was nothing new, but it was still a problem. It was made slightly less of a threat when Zero teleported in, as he immediately slashed at one of its legs with his Z-Saber and took it out. Now, for the actual weapons on board this thing.

  “I’ll take it from here! Let the Maverick Hunters deal with this!”

  Though he had no intention of fighting back, he could only hope that someone would find him soon. A couple of petty thugs had stopped Zero on the streets- likely the bright red armor and the massive ponytail- and demanded he hand over whatever gold he had. Of course, he had none, and so the thugs were closing in with intent to attack.

  Zero drew the Z-Saber and activated it, causing them to back off a ways. They were at something of a standstill when Chrom arrived. The issue here was that he’d approached from behind, so the Reploid hadn’t had time to see him until he was close enough for Zero to feel threatened.

  “I hope you’re not here to join the mugging.” He barked, Z-Saber still drawn and ready. “State your intentions!”
