(This is gonna be quite a long post. I have a lot of feelings and frustrations over this so bear with me.)

This morning I saw some shirtless pictures of Wonho from the second night of their Japan tour on Friday. Honestly, I was pretty surprised.

Maybe it was just an unfortunate angle/pose when the pic was taken, but it looked like he’s lost a significant amount of muscle mass/weight. He’s certainly less buff than he was a few months ago: I read somewhere that he lost 10kg for the Jealousy comeback. This kinda broke my heart a little.

I hope that he’s done this for himself. I hope he’s lost muscle mass because HE wanted to and not because of all those fake fans/antis who were calling him fat/unattractive/a gym pig for the way he looked in Dramarama era. It hurts even more because he’d clearly been so proud of his body then and what he’d achieved with it, only for people to either call him unattractive or literally notice nothing else but it.

I recall that video during DR era where he explained that nobody looks at his face anymore, not even men. All they notice/comment on is how impressive his body is. He said that he’d made a promise to himself that day to lose weight in 2018, to reduce the size of his shoulders and arms to draw less attention to his build. Literally because he wanted to be noticed for more than his muscles. This is heartbreaking.

It shouldn’t be an issue. Wonho is a talented singer, dancer and composer and should be able to look the way he wants without people judging/typecasting/lacking all kinds of self control. It’s his body, his identity. He’s more than his muscles and he’s more than his face. I can’t believe it’s 3 years after his debut and this is still an issue.

And this applies to all idols. What they do with their bodies is nobody’s business but their own. Leave them alone.

It makes me sad, smh.

He said the process of making the album took so long because the producer (Quincy Jones) and himself (Michael) wanted it to be as perfect as humanly possible. They ended up satisfied with the result.

Quincy and Michael often argued because Michael wanted to put the latest beats in music on the album while Quincy wanted to do beats that were popular back in the day.

The song ‘Leave Me Alone’ is about a relationship between about a guy and girl.

He wrote his autobiography, ‘Moonwalk’, during this era.
