if any of y'all see posts about house m.d on tumblr and think "I wanna watch that" you need to know that you can skip episodes. i would argue skipping certain episodes is vital to having an enjoyable house experience. house md is one of my favorite shows and has been genuinely important to me as an autistic queer chronically ill cane user. it also revels in it's main character being offensive for the sake of being offensive with that special early 2000s flair. if you care about the concept of fatphobia you will be unable to have a uncomplicated relationship with this show. for every earthshatteringly homoerotic hilson moment and every profoundly accurate disabled scene we the viewers must pay in some insane misogyny. that's just how it is on this bitch of a show

I think also the thing that makes Raoul's inclusion in the Final Lair so funny is that he's not nearly as fucked. Like. Christine and Erik are facing the culmination of what? A decade? 15 years of a fucked up relationship. Christine believed this man was an angel from her father. Leaving him means leaving that connection to her father behind forever, and this man has known her most of her life. She is just coming to terms with the fact he's lied to her her entire life, and she's scared, and she also knows he's always gonna be a part of her, and she cares about him. Erik after manipulating and controlling the way in which his one human connection saw him for years and years, now stands before the fantasy woman he's created in his head with all their illusions shattered. His raging traumas and insecurities are at the helm, he's dangerous and he's operating on instinct. They have Quite a Lot to say to each other and they are about to Have It Out (tm).

Meanwhile. Raoul literally just doesn't want Christine or him to die. And he'd like to not view the Phantom as a romantic rival. That's it. That's the emotional place he's at. Like 👀 one of these emotional crises is not like the other.
