Chapter two// just try to never grow up.

I hate change. Unless it happens subtly, like while I am sleeping, or when life is too distracting to notice. Summer break is usually a period of time where subtle change occurs, and I have known that for a few years now. My hair will probably grow, my favorite artists will release a new album, and I might declare a different book my new favorite. With the concept grasped, I entered this summer like any other. What I wasn't expecting, was a summer that would only highlight and amplify all of the change that was about to occur in my life. Sleepless nights became frequent, and instead of dreams, my brain stayed caught up on test scores and to-do lists. The idea of moving and being on my own is still incredibly exciting, change that I have well prepared for. But the process that is required to get there seems like a never-ending pit of doom. Essays that are supposed to highlight my true personality. Test scores that demonstrate my level of intellect. Applications that will help make my dreams into a reality, if they're even given the time of day. Needless to say, it's a lot.

Thank god for the friends that get me. The ones in books or in the lyrics of my favorite songs. The ones that can offer the most perfect advice, and don't judge me when I cry from being overwhelmed. Thank god for art. For songs. For poetry.

The music evolves with me, and all of the sudden the change is a lot less scary.

I can now say that I understand what @taylorswift meant when she said just try to never grow up.

chapter one// where do we go now?

Hi potential reader! My name is Dylan but my friends call me Dyl. You have probably never seen my account before, so welcome! My online presence has never been super strong, and for the most part I am okay with that. However, I am entering a new chapter of my life and want to document it in just about every way possible. If I am being totally honest, I forgot Tumblr was a thing. That is until I stumbled across it while re-arranging my home screen (as one does obv). A fact about me that you'll learn super-fast, is that I love to write. You will also learn that I am a huge fan girl. Literally huge. It's my favorite past time. From a quick glance at my account, you will notice that Taylor Swift is my favorite celebrity, role model, and artist. I have loved her for as long as I can remember, and as of right now my fav album is TTPD. What a masterpiece. Besides blondie, I adore Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Harry Styles, HAIM, Niall Horan Phoebe, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eillish, and SO many others. I'll more than likely talk your ear off about any of these people because they take all of my money, and I just love them so much. Some of my other passions besides music include books and film. I love to read and will read just about anything you suggest. From Stephen King to Lynn Painter I love it all. Words are just my favorite. My favorite type of movie is the kind that leaves your heart feeling swollen. Either from having the saddest and most tear jerking ending, or from having the most "kiss on top of the empire state building on valentines day" ending. I love them all, but I will just go ahead and say romances are my favorite. I am a Pisces after all. Going into senior year of high school with a dream college that seems impossible to get into, no love interest in mind, a close group of friends, and very little money in my bank account, I would say that I am pretty basic. i have no idea where i am going now... but I am excited to keep track of all of my fun memories. Even if I only gain one follower, I will be happy that someone is enjoying my stories. Please suggest books, music, tell me your concert lineup. I want to be friends!

Dear reader,

I was the luckiest girl on April 29th 2023 in that I got to attend the eras tour. And let me be totally transparent… I don’t think that I have been that level of happy since. I was the happiest girl on earth when I got to see my idol live. ALL that I want for my 17th birthday is to see Taylor on her second leg of the tour.

If anyone knows ANY way that I could make this happen… I am desperate for any method.

And ofc @taylorswift if you happen to have 2 tickets to spare to any US show… I would be FOREVER grateful to take those off of your hands.
