In early July, my cat suddenly became very ill. We overnighted her at the local animal hospital. It turned out that she had kidney disease and the following morning we had to put her down. My blog has been running on queue since then as I decided to take a break. If you don't see any more posts after this one, or if I haven't been responding to asks, DMs, etc. this is why. sometimes writers that are being homophobic end up making their stuff more gay but like we shouldn’t give them credit or pretend they’re a great ally or whatever. i promise you stephen king was not trying to secretly make eddie gay and just “forgot” because he was on so many drugs like he was just giving him stereotypical traits to make him seem weak. just because you see yourself in him and chapter two decided to make it explicit doesn’t mean it wasn’t just homophobia. troy and abed’s relationship is easily the best one in community and makes the most sense romantically but when dan harmon gave them romance tropes and tender moments he was not doing it to be an ally and was not deliberately queer coding troy. like that was just homophobia. and it’s whatever if you enjoy this kind of media because i clearly do but let’s stop pretending homophobic writers are our secret allies.
