I need to know who I can contact to do a story on this HORRIBLE event! On Dec. 20 a HISTORICAL BUILDING in Fremont, CA was RAVAGED by fire. Lysa’s Nail Salon was in that building. Lysa arrived in the morning to see her beloved salon, and Fremont’s HISTORICAL BUILDING, on fire! She tried to put it it out, since it was small upon arrival, but without success. She was badly burned as the fire grew and she called 911. I set up a GoFundMe for her and to save some of Fremont’s history! I desperately want to share it, but I do not know how to get it out to Fremont, ESP to her loyal customers. Every penny helps save this historical Fremont building and Lysa’s business!!! Vegan for 2 weeks

Look at that, i have time to write again! Impossible. Well i had a nice ride on the horses in the bahamas. We took them on a trail ride throughout the island then a swim in the ocean, it was amazing. I spoke to a lady who was on the ride with me. She mentioned she did some of the tai chi and other health stuff on board and conversaiton led to how she became vegan because of the health benefits. She said after a few weeks she felt amazing with no food in her diet from “anything that has a face”. Hmmm interesting! Well i am onboard this ship for a long time (contract ends in June) and the buffet offers sover 75 different entrees a night in our buffet. What better place than here to try being a vegan, for two weeks only? I decided i was going to try it. Plenty of options! So for the afternoon on the island i was a vegan. That lasted until i got back onboard and went to the buffet for a vegan salad for lunch. Being vegan lasted until i saw the ice cream and really wanted some. Ok. Vegan….nah. i was going to try to be a vegetarian instead. Being a vegetarian lasted until that night at dinner when i really wanted pan seared salmon. So. I have officially decided i will be a “pescatarian” (spelled corrrectly?) for two weeks. It is a challenge since i looove a good steak..and lamb…and pork… and it is so prominant here onboard but…. I can do it! Yeah! :) So it began that night after i gave in for a piece of amazing pepperoni pizza…and now its officially been two days.

Infinite Everything

Hey! Long time no write. I have been making mental notes of things to write about but havent had the chance to write due to my average work week of 70 hours. I know, then what the heck do i do with my free time??? Silly me, who needs sleep :)

Well im going to start off this blog by: A. Not caring enough about grammar to fix my lack of apostrophes and other errors, and, B. By venting about my morning here in the photo gallery.

I reallllllly wonder about the general IQ of this world. Heck, i even wonder about mine. But this isnt about me. People get so lazy to search for their own photo and claim that “the photo didnt turn out” (we are frikking digital these days, “not turning out” doesnt really exist anymore), or “we (as in photo staff) must have thrown it away”, or, my favorite, “someone else must have taken it”. Which causes us as the photo staff to say “did you look at every single photo?” (yes!), or “ok let me see if I can help.”

Then we walk right up to the damn picture on the wall and take it off. “It was right here, (sir or ma’am).” I mean, this happens about 80% of the time. Youve GOT to be kidding me. These are adults we are dealing with, people. 50+ years!

You would be surprised, or maybe not, to witness how FAST people are to jump to the conclusion their picture was thrown away or didnt turn out, and then get ANGRY at us for it. I mean, it even astounds me. I mean, SO QUICK. They will look at the wall for a minute then complain its not there when, as mentioned above, we “help” them and walk right up to it.

You serious???? We even have all the photos organized by: event, day, time, and/or background. Easy, people. Most people c ant even remember if they had their picture taken or not or where it was taken (formal night studios).

The other thing that rubs me the wrong way is when another coworker says something to a guest, maybe the previous day, then when the guest comes and I am working and they ask me, and i tll them the info they recieved ws incorrect, its ME that gets yelled at and complained about.

For example a lady wanted a reprint of an 8x10. That is $19.95. Another coworker told her the previous day it would be $8.95. So when i told her that the information she recieved was incorrect and the 8x10’s never sell for that price, it was ME she got angry at. I mean, what did i do? I didnt assist her the previous day, i had nothing to do with it. Not my problem she was given inaccurate info but yet the lady made it my problem really quickly.

I have met some suuuuuuper neat people on this ship. I meet some of the coolest people i will stay in touch with, guests and staff alike. But i have also run into my fair share of guests who treat us like pieces of….well you know where im going!

The other night we were slammed. I was working behind the counter with another coworker and the the gallery was CRAZY. The line behind the counter was very long with people shoving to get in the front. I asked to help who was next and a lady comes up to me asking me to see if i could ask our printer guy to remove a glare that came out in her picture. No problem. I wrote him the note, put the photo and note in the envelope and put it in the box to go down to the lab. Meanwhile she mingled over to another part of the desk, looking at more pictures.

I asked to help who was next to get the line moving. She said to me “uhm excuse me! You were helping ME! I wanted to order more photos from you!” So i told the people who came up to me after i called them, one moment, i would be right with them. I told the lady I was sorry, i sent her photo down to the lab and since she moved away from me I thought she was done.

She said “No i wasnt done! You were helping me then just walked away and started helping other people! What kin.d of service is this around here??” I apologized again for the misunderstanding and asked what she needed help with. She said “forget it! I dont want to be helped by you anymore! Youre very rude to me and i want to be helped by HER (my coworker standing next to me) instead.”

I saw fucking RED. I was this ¦¦ close to saying “Ma’am, seriously, how OLD are you??? Because you look one hell of a lot older than 5!” But because we are professional, i had to smile and say “no problem. Hope you get everything worked out.”

Oh man. Not ok.

Anyway. infinate everything, my title. This ship is nothing like iv e ever experinced. Im talking food here, by the way. Like the other day i wanted some nacho cheese for my chips. It was all out on the stove but the guy said he could refill it for me. Like, it never ends. I have access to my favorite foods, unlimited at that. Mangos, crab legs, lamb chops, kiwis, lobster, sweet potato fries, and much more. Wow this place is amazing.

I discovered two important places on the ship: the bakery and the fruit “store”. Lets discuss the bakery first.

Amazing.

Now, the fruit store. Ahaha just kidding. The bakery satisfies my 2am food cravings. I waddle down the hall to the bakery (on my floor at that as well! Major bonus) and go inside. The guys ley me help bake and on top of that i have access to choc chip cookies, peanut butter cookies (i hate peanut butter), raspberry raisin cookies, blueberry muffins, reg muffins, poppyseed muffins, all kinds of breads, and more all fresh from the oven. It is the most amazing thing ever and i can have as much as i want. Usually i grab 2 choc chip cookies.

Then i have yet to go to the fruit store when it is open. They dont sell it (its all free) but i have unlimited access to bananas, mangos, strawberries, kiwis, pineapples, watermelons, cantelope, and much much more. It is seriously incredible. The other night i had 5 rack of lamb rack pieces (hahaahaha) for dinner and more if i wanted it. It was AMAZING.

Im never hungry.

What else…. Hmmmm.

I rode a horse on the beach today. I was in the bahamas and rode on the beach, swam in the ocean with “Bambi”, and took a nice trail ride. It was reeeeeeally nice.
