okay this is something i needed to hear today so i’m making sure everybody on my dash hears it

you don’t have to write your canon character exactly as they are canonically portrayed.

you don’t have to hear their voice in the dialogue you’re writing.

you don’t have to know what’s going on inside their head all the time.

you don’t have to know what they would say in every situation.

DON’T  compare yourself to canon because canon is the foundation of a character, and the whole point of writing is to develop your own take on a character. nobody writes a canon character perfectly, and nobody writes them the exact same.

please understand that canon is just putty for you to work with, and that it’s so much more fun to just write your portrayal the way that you want to.

Ciel continued to follow then other to the table. The set up was much different than his own, and a bit more to it than Ciel had expected. Seeing the mansion, and all if its decor left Ciel wondering.

"That is true... when the fire happened, I had heard nearly half of the country knew."

As Ciel took his seat, the promising words Alois spoke did catch his attention. In the back of his mind, Ciel still knew to be careful. "And how do you expect to achieve that? Unless you know the people that caused the incident, and you were far too young, I'm sure."

Blue eyes narrowed, clashing with a pair of golden ones. Leaning back on his hands on the plush bed, Alois crossed his legs and pushed his foot into the chest of the demon before him, lips twisted into a snarl.

“So, Ciel Phantomhive remembers nothing? And you..” He trailed off, cutting a glare towards the demon before an almost cheery smile came to his pink lips and his long, blond eyelashes fluttered with false sweetness. “You will not touch the Phantomhive boy, not with intentions of harm or otherwise,” Reaching forward, he threaded his fingers through silky black hair, gripping until stands popped off between them.

“You won’t act on your own will unless explicitly told unless my life is in explicit danger, now.. Write me a letter, won’t you, Claude?”

The demon kept a blank look but the anger in his eyes was clear. “Yes, your highness.”

Sebastianed eyed the uninvited guest carefully, his grin still remaining. While he watched, his hands slowly clasped themselves together. "You dont feel well? Perhaps it is because you stay in outside in the cold. Not very smart now is it?"

Just in the moment that sky began to speak of Ciel, sebastian leaned in rather close, merely a foot away from the girl. "Is that so? I hadn't the clue you were so kind. Unfortunately, an order is an order."

Slowly, Sebastian removed a glove from his hand, revealing the mark from his contract. Once shown, he began to raise it up to his opposite eye. "What ever my young master orders, I must obey no matter what he asks. Unfortunately for you, my young master had ordered me to kill you if you hadn't kept your promise."

Sky noticed how he stared at her eating habits, and actually felt embarrassed. She wiped her hands off on her night gown, feeling unusually low class compared to this kid.

She was more than pleased with the distraction to walk him home, keeping by his side in the dark as the light of the fire faded behind them. When she heard the crack, she reacted just as fast as Ciel did, Moving in front of him as he raised his gun and drawing a knife from gods no where, holding it up and glaring into the darkness.
