hey netizens! i'm not sure how many people are aware, but youtube's been slowly rolling out a new anti-adblock policy that can't be bypassed with the usual software like uBlock Origin and Pi-Hole out of the gate

Turns out this was a load of shit.

So, Dwarf Appreciation Week is coming up, for Dragon Age, and as a part of the dwarven community (even though you literally have no evidence but my word, but trust me) I will be participating! I have no idea how many posts I will make, but… I’m going to try for atleast one a day so, look forward to Thorin, Endrin, and the dwarven followers in the future!

So, something I’ve been working on and experimenting with for a bit!

An in-universe map of Ferelden, created roughly two months after the Siege of Adamant, and a month before the death of Empress Celene.

In-universe, the map was produced by one of my Wardens, Sofia Surana. Reading through the lore and noticing some things on the map, while it is largely based around what is achievable through the game’s choices and lore, there are a number of alterations to fit my own canon (multiple Origins alive and as wardens, both siblings survive Lothering, etc).

Also, because I had to reduce the image sizes to fit reasonably on here, I have higher resolutions of the map in an album here: https://imgur.com/a/C14Cya3 (original image upon exporting was somehow about 300 MB)

If your Warden is a dwarf, a mage, a elf, or a woman, I think a common problem they would face is Alistair and Nathaniel constantly being mistaken for them. 

King: It is such an honor to meet the hero of Ferelden 

Alistair: I know it was such an honor meeting her too. 

King: What-

Warden: Hero of Ferelden at your service.

Or:

Orlesian: You know, Warden Commander, you should really think about your policy of accepting anyone into your ranks. Having elves and dwarves in your company may be useful but it must damage your reputation-

Nathaniel: Hm. I’ll bring it up with the actual Warden Commander then. Warden Commander?

Warden Commander (who is an elf or dwarf): I’ll make a note to let Ferelden crumble next time, since Maker/Stone forbid we damage our reputation. 

In short, just a lot of getting wrecked for assumptions all around. Because let’s be real, when stories travel, they change. And it’s not too far fetched to think that the stories of the hero would morph them into a strong, male, noble warrior over time in certain circles.

Headcannon for the Hero of Fereldan

KeirSo, I was curious about other people's headcanons and was searching around. It got me thinking, What are my Headcanons? So here’s what I’ve come up with for My Wardens (with the specific world state):

Universal Headcanon:

After killing the Archdemon the arm of the Warden that struck the killing blow was effectively shattered and didn’t heal properly, thus leaving achs in their shoulders and other joints.

Paragon Thorin:

Dropped the name Aeducan for he became a Paragon

Sees Keiran once a year, either on his birthday or a date Morrigan picked out, while he lived in the Crossroads

Likes to be called  “the Stone’s Guardian” by himself he likes it

While keeping in touch with Morrigan via letters, he is searching for her and stumbles upon a lead for the Cure of the Blight

Runs Amaranthine as a Dwarf and has other surface dwarves as his advisors along with Varel

Before going on his quest to cure the Blight, he visits Mardy and his son one last time as he thinks he might not make it back

Inquisitor Edric Cadash briefly talked with him a few months prior to his departure and gave him a few pointers on swordplay

Arl Eragon Cousland:

Claimed the title of Teyrn for the sake of his bother.

While raising Keiran with Morrigan, he would frequent Denerim to talk with his old friend, King Alistair

Followed through with his promise to Alistair and convinced his brother to put up a statue of Duncan in Highever, decorated with two griffons at the base

When Morrigan went to the Court of Orlais, he accompanied them and then split for his quest

His mabari travels with him
