🎉🎊 FREE ART DEMO 🎊🎉 Finally, I'll be heading down south on Oct. 8 for a free art demo at @buku.bukukafe ! I've been hearing a lot of great stuff from this cafe and I knew I needed to check them out! This will be a whole day affair, starting from doing art prints and gift wrappers using my machuca tile inspired stamps, as well as making your own stamped buntings (if we have enough time lol). Then in the afternoon I'll be making quick food sketches and do a visual journal spread while I demonstrate some of my journaling techniques! Everything is for free upon dining in the cafe! Finally after two long years, I will be teaching my #PatternCarving #workshop in Metro Manila! Inspired by our very own #Machuca tiles, the workshop will start with postitive/negative carving (Dala Horse 🐴), and then to simple geometric shapes turning them into intricate patterns. This workshop is specially made for beginners who have no experience whatsoever with stamp carving! Around 2 years ago, I was contacted by a friend who asked if I could do his colleague some food illustrations for her upcoming cooking book. I said yes in a heartbeat, who wouldn't? I waited till the manuscript was printed out and distributed in local bookstores. Unfortunately, our branch of NBS didn't carry any PSICOM books. So the next thing I did was to order them and wait for a couple of weeks— well that was the plan but my order never came 😑 And so I forgot to post about it but @practicingmisis was kind enough to provide me copies; one copy I kept for myself, and one copy for Sean 😊 I'm really proud of my work despite seeing some errors now that I know better (lol!) But this simplicity of lines, composition, and tonal values was a new style I never would have done without the book! And so in my upcoming workshop series, I'll be teaching tonal values as part of my Watercolor & Food Illustration workshop! We'll be exploring tonal values using a secret ink (haha!) taught to me by my fellow creatives in the past!
