Yeah I kept knitting like that but all of it was too tight, it went much better after I took the whole thing out and knitted it again but much more loosely. I can't say I made it look good but lol thank you for the advice!

So I started knitting today, but the yarn gets really tight on my needle and I can't get the other needle through the yarn. What am I doing wrong? I'd appreciate any advice!

Update: I was knitting too tightly. If you're also a beginner struggling with this, try pulling the piece of yarn you're trying to knit out a bit and you can continue knitting!
