You Do: Thrift
You know that friend you have who just seems to score all the good stuff at the thrift store? They always look effortlessly cool, trendy, classy and not too Granola-ey (it isn’t obvious their attire is all second hand). Well, I will tell you now, don’t dismiss their ability to prosper from the hunt as just luck because in reality, it is a skill. With a tasteful eye, an open mind, and a bit of…

We Love: Balenciaga Spring 2014
Balenciaga managed to march all the bright, sporty whites and structured silhouettes down the runway this Spring whilst retaining femininity. He has met the geometric shapes of the season with edge-softening graphics inspired by nature. The models appeared empowered and purposeful but with a hint of girlishness. And while the silhouettes of his pieces featured many a sharp edge, they placed…

We Love: Kimonos
Having had a lifelong fascination with fashion of late 1800′s through the 1920′s, particularly with the influence of Orientalism,  I am thrilled to be spotting kimono inspired items both in stores and on the runway. Besides my love for their historical context, I would like to promote the kimono concept first and foremost because of it’s versatility.
Finding a kimono that suits you should be easy…

We Love: Glasswing Shop
Although I am too much of a bargain hunter to ever make any serious purchases at boutiques like this one, I love to visit them nonetheless. Glasswing is one of the many cool shops of the beautiful Melrose Market (my new favorite place in Seattle and very reminiscent of Borough Market in London).  Their store stocks everything from women’s and men’s apparel to beautifully packaged office supplies.

You Do: Downton Abbey Casual
We Love: Downton Abbey Casual
A slightly oversized silk button-up blouse creates the perfect 1920′s  style blouse for when you feel like emulating the day look  of the ladies of Downton Abbey this season. Roll the sleeves up to three-quarters length, leave the collar undone and decorate with one or multiple long necklaces. Part your hair far to one side and secure it in a low bun. Pair your blouse with a mid-calf length…

You Do: Spanish Mission
You Do:
On visiting the Mission San Luis Obispo last week whilst in LA, I was reminded of how much I love both Spanish religious and secular art. With its bright colors and floral designs floating over a backdrop of white stucco, accessories inspired by the art and nature found in and around Spanish Missions are the perfect counterpart to your white-on-white this Spring.
Think bright florals, black…
