Our Sunday costumes from Ottawa ComicCon 2016 - Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus (motion capture double) from Deadpool. The Colossus suit was our photographer’s idea but my husband loved it and ran with it. Negasonic was a fun costume to do too, even though there are definitely things I’d like to improve about it!

Marvel’s Jessica Jones was a relatively easy costume to put together. And pretty comfortable, aside from all the layers making it really warm! It wasn’t a highly recognizable costume but I enjoyed it. :)

Some friends and I did a Spaceballs group - it was amazing! We had Dark Helmet (me), Barf, Princess Vespa, and her stunt double (my husband). These costumes were hugely popular and SO FUN to wear. :)

I did eventually finish my Fraction Hawkeye costume! And my husband went as my Russian Tracksuit Mafia opponent, lol.

Clothes and makeup tests for Dr. Pamela Isley (I’m only wearing lipstick in the first pic, full makeup in the second one). I need to get a different colour brow pencil that’s lighter and has more red in it.
I like the green shirt but I need to get/make a skirt to go with it. The other pic is a dress that goes just below knee length.

I don’t think I’m skilled enough to make this yet, but maybe someday (though without the ponytail!).

More pictures of my Fraction Hawkeye (post-battle, since I haven’t finished my bow - the one in the pic is digitally added by me, lol) and my husband’s Onomatopoeia costume from Ottawa ComicCon.

I saw u on Saturday as Bilbo and it was great but I'm so sad I missed u today! Fraction - Hawkeye is my absolute fave!! The shirt and makeup look awesome, can't wait to see when it'stotally done :D
Thank you! :D
I will definitely wear it again - I loved it! It was super comfortable, even though hardly anyone recognized me, lol. But the people that did got really excited about it, so that was awesome. :) I should have some professional pictures to share (hopefully later this week, depending how quickly he gets through his backlog from the con). Hopefully I will be able to make a bow and arrows before Toronto FanExpo so I will have even more pictures to share.
Were you dressed up this weekend?

My Sunday costume at Ottawa ComicCon was super casual - I had started a comics-inspired Hawkeye costume but realized a few weeks ago that I wasn’t going to have time to finish it and my Bilbo Baggins costume, so I decided to wear what I had (the shirt, sunglasses, and wig), but go with the “beat up” look that Clint often sports in the Matt Fraction comics. The bruise makeup was suprisingly easy and very effective! And the costume was very comfortable (jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers, yay!).
Though I guess it was a bit obscure - only a few people recognized me, lol.
The wig is a Rocky from Arda Wigs, the sunglasses are from eBay, and I made the shirt from a plain black shirt and some fabric paint.
Better pics to come as soon as the professional photos are edited and posted.

This is my backup jacket (the otherwise practically perfect one is a little tight in the arms), my skirt, and my (finally!) finished underskirt. I have a white blouse to wear under the jacket, but still need to finish my vest. Hopefully this weekend! I have most of the pieces cut out - just the lining still to cut.

More progress on Bilbo! I covered Sting in Worbla (the crossguard was really tricky, but I managed to do it with one continuous piece of Worbla), then smoothed it with spackle and gesso, and drew the design on it. It’s been a little chilly for spray paint, but it’s supposed to be nice this weekend.
I picked up a thrifted jacket and skirt, as I’ve got a week left before the con and was running out of time! :X This jacket is a little tight in the arms so I may not be able to wear it (but I have a backup, just in case). I’ve also got the underskirt (with eyelet trim ruffle on the bottom edge) nearly finished.
I’ve also started styling my wig (a Vegas from Arda Wigs that I picked up on clearance when they discontinued it in Sandy Brown) but I’ve run out of curlers (can you tell I never do anything with my own hair?) so I need to buy some more before I can continue. It’s my first time styling a wig, so if it doesn’t work out I’ll try to use my own hair instead.

Some Bilbo updates - I got some lovely acorn buttons from Celtic Ruins costumes, and started working on Sting. First, I cut the pieces out from foam floor mats, then roughly shaped it with a sharp knife before switching to a dremel. The next step is covering it all with worbla. Once that’s done, I will have to do ALL THE PRIMING/SANDING, lol.
