Hey I'm back. It was my birthday yesterday (25th), but I was too sad and tired to make a birthday post. Had to contemplate if I still want to but I guess I should.
I don't like this day and don't celebrate much but here I'm gonna use it for an opportunity to thank you all for your support and thank you for being here :)
I'm surrounded by my characters this year haha, they bring me a lot of comfort.

Sorry was perusing your wares(shadowvani) and I saw a tag you wrote saying maybe dark enchantress is one of us and all I can think of is dark enchantress being the side of while lily who loves (toxic) Yaoi and the whole reason she's doing this is just to fulfill her fanfictions
Dark Enchantress is the side of White Lily that writes fanfictions no wonder she's so evil/j
On a side note, love love the phrase "perusing your wares". Make me feel like some kinda wandering peddler. Henceforth from now, within my domain, replacing that phrase w/ "checking out your blog" or "looking at your stuff" and such alike shall NOT be mandatory but highly encouraged cuz I don't wanna pressure people-

comparing ai to the invention of fire is such an insult towards the entirety of humanity.
since the dawn of human history, creations and inventions have done nothing but broaden our horizons. the inventions of fire, the wheel, the spear and the jar/pot/vessel/whatever are such milestones in science and human evolution.
fire allowed us to work metals and clay, light up the dark and scare away predators, cook food and warm up those who are sick.
the invention of the wheel and jars allowed us to have trade, carry things like berries and nuts more easily and also carry around liquids like water which allowed us to treat those who could not get up to get water due to sickness.
the invention of the spear laid the foundation for long, mid and short ranged weapons (bows (throw spear more efficiently), spears, swords (spear with longer tip and shorter handle)), it allowed us to hunt bigger game easier and thus use less energy when doing so, it allowed us to protect ourselves from rival tribes.
all of these being hyper-crucial in the development of humans as a social species. fires to cook food and thus allow for more people to eat (cooked food gives more energy) a larger variety of food safely which allowed for larger groups of people to group up. jars to carry and store water, agriculture, gathering (y'know, one whole half of the 'hunter-gatherer' thing we humans are known for). wheels which allowed for trade with others and travel. spears to hunt (the other half of the whole 'hunter-gatherer' thing we are known for) and defend and protect those who could not protect themselves from predators. all which helped build community and interconnection but also faith and belief and religion. and also allowed for specialization and the creation of jobs but i think i've made my point clear already.
ai is probably one of the first, if not the first, invention to not just not broaden our horizon but also dim it. it encourages not reading cuz why would i go out and read a book when i could just get a (wrong) summery from ai? it encourages being anti-social cuz why would you go out and talk to people when you could just talk to a chatbot? it encourages staying in a bubble cuz why go out and have your opinions challenged when you could just get ai to agree with everything you say and affirm your position?
ai isn't just not at all similar to the invention of fire, it is, dare i say, the antithesis of the invention of fire. it is nothing more than a machine created to predict word and pixel placements trained off of stolen data from what is probably the closest thing to a digital archive of the entire history of humanity and all of its creations. it is an affront to human nature as curious beings which grew to be so big and important due to their desire to ask 'why' and go out into the world to seek answers rather than sit on their ass and expect knowledge to be spoon fed to them.
#rant#ai#god i fucking hate ai#i don't understand how you could get any joy or happiness from just going#what is 'insert thing here'#and just stopping there#the entire joy of searching and learning about something#for me at least#is seeing just how much i don't know and just how much there is for me to learn about it#and ai summaries are the furthest thing from that#especially with all of the wrong and made up sources and citations
