+lots of headcanons!!!

•Speaks with a slight burr. (inspired by the way Sawyer speaks in the game :D listen to how he pronounces "experiments")

•Signs of parent negligence here and there, like the way he's 12 and still holds a pen the most atrocious way because nobody taught him to do it right.

•Does his laundry, cuts his own hair, albeit poorly, and overall is very much independent. To Elliot it first seemed as Harley's own desire since he's extremely serious when it comes to science and he thought it makes sense for him to be overly responsible in general. In reality Harley just didn't have a choice but to learn to do these things on his own.

•Would rather eat his shoes than ask for help, and he only has one pair of shoes.

•Has a strange way of showing affection. Will ignore boundaries of someone he likes and even be rude to them, not intentionally but because he's excited from how comfy he feels around them. Will also yap a lot.

•That is the kind of friendship they have with Elliot. Harley had never felt so comfortable around someone before so he's constantly testing Elliot's patience by treating him almost like a peer. Luckily, Elliot has plenty of patience (not infinity though) and has taken a liking of him, sincerely enjoying doing experiments and just chatting with Harley when he isn't too rude.

And yep, although Harley tries hard to convince himself he's as independent as an adult, he's slowly starting to see Elliot as some sort of father figure. Elliot, in turn, would definitely like to have a child as smart and determined as Harley, not to mention he sees his young self a lot in him, but the boy's bitterness and egoistic pride gradually make it harder and harder for them to get along.

•I have an AU where Elliot travels to Harley's home together with Harley, in order to make sure he leaves the boy in good hands after he expels him from the YGP and maybe to give him some ideas on how to socialise and learn humility in the environment he's used to. Elliot had certain guesses about financial situation in Harley's family, but he had never expected to see what he saw there. The AU includes quarreling and bonding between a silly-ish adult and a grumpy teen, travelling, talks about anything and everything and nearly having a fight with Harley's father :"D The entire time Harley isn't aware this is a farewell trip.

I hope to eventually make some sketches of this AU!
