Update 12 December 2024

A crap ton of things have happened since the last update, but here goes. First, two episodes of Meet the Goblins and Gremlins have launched and it's been a huge success! So happy with it!

Furthermore, I wanna do more of these vids and do more streams as things are looking up there, but unfortunately things have to be put on hold.

Mainly due to the fact that I am in the process of suing my boss IRL due to him not paying my salary and that of my colleague. It has taken so much energy from me that I had to report myself sick, since I couldn't handle it anymore.

So I am going to take the rest of December off. From working, streaming and making videos. Depending on how things go, I'll probably return in January.

I'll still make Best Bits Monthly videos, but do keep in mind that the 2024 edition will take a while.

Also please don't donate me money when you can donate to the Jingle Jam. There are plenty of people that really need the money more than I ever have to.

OBS Keeps Losing Connection

Hi folks! Another update. A rather frustrating one unfortunately. As you may have noticed watching my streams, my OBS keeps losing connection. After a lot of trial and error, I just can't find the source of the problem.

So unfortunately, I'll have to quit streaming until the source of the problem is found and solved forever. But what now?

Well, all I can really do now is make videos on the YouTube side of things and leave it at that. I can't stream anymore, so yeah...

If anyone knows the solution, here goes: 400 download, 100 upload. Twitch Inspector states unstable connection. No amount of server switching solves it. I go from 10k kbps to 0 every 10 minutes or less.

I'm sure there's information in the logs, but I have no clue how to read them and if the answer lies there. Unlikely though. But if you have the solution and answer, please let me know!

Other than that, I'm sorry, but until this problem is solved, I can't stream anymore. Hope to be back soon though.

Update 3-9-2024

Hello everyone! Been a while, but I got another update for you here. It's got to do with what I do, why there's been a small lack of content lately and what will happen next.

So first, as you know, I have a job. It's been wonderful and lifechanging. However, nowadays, I am getting stressed out due to many things going wrong that I have to fix, even if I didn't make the mistakes myself, and I am just not enjoying it anymore. I'm currently looking for another job, but for now, I am just giving it my all until I am free.

With that, it's been difficult to doing both content creation and my job at the same time. That is why I have taken some time off. It's why there's a lack of content lately. I needed time for myself.

But what now? Will this break continue or will I come back? Well. I have been thinking. I do believe it is time to add a little change to the mix. Best Bit of the Week and the YouTube Shorts are hits and misses. One moment, I am struggling to get over 10 views and the other moment I am getting over 400 views.

It has made me realize that change is in order. So I am going to drop YouTube Shorts and Best Bit of the Week for now and focus on new projects and see how they go. Best Bits Monthly will continue as usual.

As for livestreams, with WoW War Within live now and other things coming soon, I might return to streaming, but only after I have bought a new PC, which might take a month since I need money. (Please don't donate large sums of money, I got a job)

Once I have the new setup, I'll return to streaming and see what fun we can have.

Results of Best Bit of the Week video

While Tiny Tutorials wasn't a great success, Best Bit of the Week certainly is! So to explain a little on what's been happening. I wanted to post more vids than just the one per month.

To ensure that we get to that point, I wanted to do a minimum of 1 video and 2 shorts per week. That is now the case with 2 Best Bits Monthly Shorts and the Best Bit of the Week video.

With that, you're now getting a steady supply of content at set days and times and if we want more vids to be made, we can always experiment with those.

But this experiment, Best Bit of the Week, is a huge success and I've decided to make it a habit of posting such a vid. So if you have a Goblins and Gremlins clip that you really want to see appear in Best Bit of the Week, I've got a Discord server where you can post just that!

Results of Tiny Tutorials Pilot Episode

So very recently, the Tiny Tutorials pilot episode came out. Unfortunately, it wasn't as well viewed as I hoped it would be. However, experimentation is key to learning a lot of things and I learned quite a bit from this experience.

So what's next? What I want to do is to return to the YouTube Shorts and do around 2 per week and make a video titled 'Best Bit of the Week'. It's where I pick a clip from past, present and future and put them on YouTube. They might even be clips that were cut from Best Bits Monthly.

Update (15 April 2024)

Gonna be honest, this is an update that's similar to previous updates. In my previous update, I was going to do more to address the lack of content produced on my channels. More streams, more vids, more everything. Yet, I have done very little if anything at all.

It's mainly because my job is asking a lot from me and I am reaching my limit of what I'm able to handle. Hence why I haven't done anything with Twitch or YouTube at all (apart from Best Bits Monthly of course).

In the week of 22 April, I'll have a week off though. I wanna spend that time doing things for the channel and see what works and what doesn't. 2024 is still the year of experimentation, even if IRL keeps getting in the way.

With that said, keep in mind that content is going to remain lacking for a while still. It's very likely this trend will continue until the end of June.

I do want to say that I apologize for the lack of content once again, but once everything is dealt with, I'll do my best in improving the amount of content that's being produced.

Lack of Content (4 March 2024)

Hi everyone! New blog!

Lately, as people might've noticed, I have only done Best Bits Monthly and nothing else. Hardly any Shorts, no other vids and no streams for a while. What's going on?

Basically, several things were going on. My job is keeping me really busy, especially since I had to replace someone who quit, had to deal with the passing of my grandfather last month and my motivation for content creation has gone out the window.

Let's say that it's been a rough few weeks and I'm only just picking up the pieces again. Mentally, I've been in better places truthfully, but with all the bad stuff from last month now dealt with, I'm ready to motivate myself to do more again.

With that being said, what content should I make? I've been holding off of making Tiny Tutorials for a long time now and it's time I get to do something about it. So I'll look into producing two pilot episodes: One Minecraft Create and the other Satisfactory.

Other than that, I'll look into making more Shorts, more previews and more content overall. Might even stream again.

Experiment One: Success!

Hello everyone! I've just concluded an experiment on my YouTube channel and I've learned a lot from this!

So recently, I found this YouTube Short from a YouTube channel called PirateSoftware. The good man talking spoke about a way to do YouTube Shorts correctly. Want to know what it is? Click HERE!

Trying this out, I've learned that, using my private YouTube account, instead of seeing YouTube Shorts appear in my sub feed, I saw them appear in the front page!

What happened as well was that I started to gain subscribers on a daily basis, which is brilliant!

But what's next? I am gonna start planning and creating new YouTube videos alongside the usual YouTube Shorts and see what works and doesn't. Expect a lot in the future!

Where I have been (24 December 2023)

Hello! It sure has been a while since I last posted an update. 9th of September, I posted here for the last time and while I have been able to stream No Man's Sky and Minecraft All The Mods 8 (and 9), I haven't been able to stream a lot lately. But they are for good reasons.

Lately, I have been working hard at my volunteer job since July. That job is set to become a real job in the new year. My focus will be set on that job for the next half year.

But what will happen to the content? Truth be told, I don't believe that I am going to be able to grow on Twitch as it's a platform that doesn't have strong discoverability nor is it a place to grow ones own content creation carreer.

So what will I do now? Best Bits Monthly will have a special Best of 2023 edition alongside the December edition. As well as that, I will look into making YouTube videos or streams.

2024 will be a year of experimentation and I want to try things and see where I'll end up. If I am able to grow as a content creator through means that I am happy with, then that's a win for everybody.

In closure, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year. Will be seeing you in 2024 for new streams, new content and much more.

Update: 9-9-2023

Hello everyone! A little update for you all! I haven't been streaming at all lately nor making any vids, apart from Best Bits Monthly. I wanted to take the time to explain why and what will happen from here on out.

Simply put, with my volunteer work, it's been difficult to plan anything nor find the energy to stream. It's been hectic and stressful as of late. While I still enjoy my work, my contract ends at the start of October. No clue what will happen from there.

However, when I do have the energy to do things, I want to look into trying No Man's Sky (if it doesn't lag me out ofc) and Minecraft All The Mods. Wanna play Starfield, but my PC won't be able to handle that and OBS at the same time.

I've left Twitter

As shown below, I'm officially gone from Twitter (or X, which ever you prefer). This is due to the possibility that past harrassers and bad people can return to my timelines and trouble me again.

It's important for all of us to have the tools available to protect ourselves. If such a tool doesn't exist, then you can get attacked more often than you might think.

So with me out of Twitter, I'll continue my social media work over at Bluesky and here. Hope to see you soon!

Addressing Lack of Content

Hey everyone! Even though I've been making YouTube Shorts and doing at least 1 stream per week, I do feel like there has been a lack of content and I wanted to address that in this blog.

Due to my new volunteer work, I've found it difficult to focus on content creation as well as I felt like the combination of work and making vids/streams makes me feel overworked. So I spent the time resting and not doing enough for my channels nor the content.

But fear not! The July edition of Best Bits Monthly will be made as usual and I'll continue to make Best Bits Monthly Shorts. I'll also start looking into making a brand new series of tutorials: Tiny Tutorials!

They're videos that explain specific things in 5 minutes or fewer. There are so many 20+ minute videos out there, I felt like they could be split and condenced to 5 minutes or fewer vids. Makes it far easier to find, learn and understand.

I'll start recording Minecraft Create Mod: Speed and Stress - Tiny Tutorials very soon. It'll explain the main units of the Create Mod and help you prevent overstressing your factories.

So that's YouTube, but what about Twitch? I'm thinking on doing more than 1 or 2 streams per week again, but they won't be scheduled in. It's when I feel like doing them. I've made that choice to balance myself and prevent myself from being overworked.

To end this blog, I wanna apologize for the lack of content lately, but I hope that with all of this, we can enjoy more content together again. Thanks for the support!

Update 1 July 2023

Starting off: Twitter is not in a good place with its limits. This might mean that we will have to pick an alternative place to do our regular social media stuff. My personal pick being here, Tumblr. We'll have to see what the future will bring.

Furthermore, I have made and uploaded the June edition of G&G Best Bits Monthly and thus returned to the series earlier than first announced. Of course, content will resume as planned.

As for streams, I might do more than 1 stream per week, but the coming weeks are going to be hectic with a new volunteer job starting soon.

The Best of Best Bits

Good news everyone! I am currently working on a brand new series! Taking the Best of Best Bits Monthly and putting them together in an 8 to 10 minute video to highlight the funniest moments of Best Bits Monthly!

Will be working on other projects as well and they'll be announced as the projects go on.

Giving a Second Chance

Disclaimer: I've excluded names to protect their identity and privacy.

Remember my post about me leaving the Goblins and Gremlins? The one where I claimed that one of the leaders failed in well treatment and such? I wanna make this blog to take those words back as things have changed over the last few weeks. Let me explain.

So to provide with some context, a post was made by someone on Twitter, claiming that said leader treated others poorly, was exclusive and would send inappropriate messages to others. These claims, which I first believed, I now am doubtful about.

What the leader did admit to in his statements, is that he was poor in his communication, easy to lash out and quick to ban people due to his mental health. He has since started to work on himself.

So with his statements, and the statement from Lewis of the Yogscast, I now put the allegations in doubt. I'm not sure if these allegations are accurate anymore.

With this realization, I am going to give the leader a second chance and wish to apologize to him for me leaving G&G and making the initial statement. With that, I will want to put this dark chapter to bed and want to move forward.

Will this mean I'll return to G&G? Not yet. I wanna wait a while until I've made my final decision. For now, I'll do what I do and see where it takes me. Thank you for your understanding and again, I apologize for the poor choice of words in the initial statement.

Plans For the Future

After all that's happened, I think it's time to talk about the future and not the past. The future's always fun, so let's talk about that!

Of course, I am currently taking a break from everything content creation due to everything that's going on, but my birthday on the 9th is coming and I want to do some fun things on my birthday.

First, I want to do a double stream. Afternoon and evening, I'll be streaming.

Second, I'll accept the challenge to make anything with Canva and YOU get to decide the promts (I can skip if I find them uncomfortable or too hard to do)

And third... Well, we'll keep the third for when it is my birthday. Just to tease you a tiny bit.

Either way, I am grateful for all the support and love you've given me these days and I promise I'll do whatever it takes to bring you entertainment once again!

I have left the Goblins and Gremlins

Yep. That's what has happened. I have decided to step down from the Goblins and Gremlins in light of recent controversies. I'm someone who values well treatment of others and, unfortunately, one of the leaders of G&G failed in such responsibilities.

And so, I cannot remain in G&G as its member and editor. Which means that G&G Best Bits Monthly is cancelled. I am going to take the time to re-evaluate matters and look into solutions to keep going.
