We are not CLOSING, we are ADAPTING! . The announcement last night came like a karate chop to the chest. But as soon as we heard, it really was an easy decision to make. We have had some incredible messages of support from our crew, and we have so much hope for the future. When this is all over we are looking forward to getting back to the box and throwing down again with our community! . Until then, we are providing online programming for our members at this challenging time to keep them focused, motivated and moving. Educating them on things we can control, like our nutrition, mobility, sleep and tools to keep engaged with the community. Staying together even though we are apart at the moment. This will be hugely challenging for everyone as our habits have to change, but this is probably the most important few weeks, as we press down on that peak we are hearing about. What that translates to is LIVES. Your Grandma, mum or dad, uncle, aunt, nieces and cousins. . Start to cultivate some new habits at home, set a routine and stick to it. The dust has settled and we’ve just come back to Earth after an AMAZING weekend @strengthindepthuk watching some of the worlds top CF athletes throwdown. Not only did our team get to experience a slice of the action but they held their own throughout the weekend. Finishing 6th on day 1, 10th on day 2 and 13th overall after the final event. Some tough workouts, complex movements and high skill WODs testing their grit, determination and nerve. A huge thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible, so many volunteers giving up their time to help judge, move kit, score, assemble, pick up rubbish, look after athletes..... the list goes on! .. The range of motion standards define a repetition of a movement. It is pass/fail, black/white, you either hit it or you do not. For example, the ROM for a pull up, is FULL arm extension at the bottom with your chin finishing clearly over the bar. WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT ROM? Hitting consistent and universal ROM defines movement, gives a standard, and develops strength through the full range. CrossFit selects range of motion standards to ensure that strength is developed through the entire movement. We do not just want to be strong in a limited range, we want to have strength through the full range. Hitting ROM further allows for consistency in performance. If you perform a movement to a set standard every time, it gives you comparable data, which helps you track meaningful progress. How else would it be fair?
