As Eddy got closer and closer he still struggled to sense who he was walking towards. A few possibilities cross his mind and he looked at every inch of the man to try and work it out. The cloak and mask making it difficult. Maybe he wasn't as good at this vampire thing as he thought, or maybe there was a reason why he couldn't work this out.
Soon enough he was stood closer, and the other man spoke. A voice, one that he would recognise anywhere, with almost any distortion. His sense of smell was clearly taking a break, but his ability to hear every single world the man uttered was unbroken.
Edward became angry. Knowing what this reunion could mean for him. He was never supposed to see Sebastian again. Sebastian was never supposed to set foot back in this town again, that was the deal they had.
If there hadn't been so many people around, he would have rushed fourth and dealt with this little problem once and for all. Unfortunately he couldn't. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Eddy whispered. Knowing Seb would hear him loud and clear.
Tumblr media
Another vampire in the room would be nothing short of obvious. He knew they were around. He wasn't a fool. Fighting off the headache, he still was on his guard, looking around him. Not just because of his own more personal situation and secret--but because he had learned over the years. But no one knew that. Yet.
So he acted as cool and casual as he could, and the eyes on him were heavy, as if they knew something. As if he was the one out of place in the room. But the weighty eyes were from someone all too familiar. His senses heightened, and he did his best to continue acting natural. Head turned, Sebastian, found the figure across the room.
He should have expected to see him again. They were, after all, bonded in that way. He'd take advantage of the crowd, to blend in as much as he could. The lights played about in the dark, and it was easy for him to move along the shadows. His eyes remained on the figure as he continued to navigate the room.
It was as if the room was counting down for them, the more he tried to avoid his maker, the less control he had over himself. Even as his face was well-hidden, it still felt as if he had been spotted and recognized.
"So, you found me," he stated, standing right in front of the other vampire.

Edward had been at the ball for almost an hour now but after managing to get past security and blend in with the large crowds of party goers, he was starting to regret making such an effort to be here.
Even when he was human and was forced to attend events such as this all over England, he had never been much of a fan, always sneaking off halfway through the night to have some fun of his own elsewhere. But he was here now, and nowhere near enough people had seen his outfit for him to be able to leave any time soon.
He leaned up against the makeshift bar. Making sure not to damage his relic of a tuxedo in any way. Sipping on his fifth double whiskey of the evening, as he looked around. Clocking a couple of eyes on him, which was to be expected when he looked this good.
But then out of nowhere he sensed a weirdly familiar presence. Tilting his head up as he took a swig of his drink. From afar he spotted a cloaked figure, mask covering most his face, but something was drawing him into the other.
He stepped away from the bar and slowly made his way through the crowd. Trying to pick up on some sort of scent, but something was messing with his senses. Just in case he kept his distance. Hoping to figure out who this person was before it was too late.
Tumblr media
Who: Sebastian & @eddyxftzz
Where: lunar eclipse masquerade ball
There were few things now that would make Sebastian nervous. His identity being discovered, anything that could make him weaker. The fact that he had survived this long had been quite telling. He was taking a risk coming back to his home town, but there had been an itch he needed to scratch, and a lead he had to follow. There was nothing to it, he had to convince himself.
The ball was nothing short of extravagant, with everyone, including himself dressed up to the theme. Kind of perfect for keeping identities hidden and secrets buried. He was doing well, eyes cautiously scanning the room as he walked about. From across the room, he sensed someone familiar. Maybe he was fooling himself, and maybe it was this low dull of an ache at his temples that was clouding his judgement.
He shook his head slightly, locking gaze with the other. The crowd seemed to be following suit and moving aside. Great. Now this was going to be a long evening.

Edward Fitzgerald attends The Lunar Eclipse Masked Ball
Arriving alone, but with no intention in leaving that way. After not receiving a direct invite from the Avery's but knowing there is no way he's missing this, he manages to sneak past the weak minded security that guard the ball, blending right in surrounded by the wealthy Westray residents. His suit may be almost as old as he is, but Edward has always been a fan of vintage items and antiques, since he practically is one himself.

"A cave? no actually I was raised in a fucking castle." It was an over exaggeration, and his family home may as well have been a cave considering how cold and empty it was, but Eddy was not about to have anybody question his pedigree. "Where did you grow up, the pound?" It was weak, even Edward could admit that, but he was drunk, and something about Myles had him weirdly flustered.
Edward laid his glass down on a nearby table, wishing he had another to hand. It was no easy feat being around such a beast without having something to wash away that bad taste Mysles left in his mouth. "No corpse here, buddy." He shot back.
"You keep running that mouth though, there might be one."
Tumblr media
"My charm, my wit... you know," Myles smirked. As much as he disliked vampires, Eddy in front of him was very easy to mess with. Maybe he was just in that good of a mood. He watched Eddy, and his every reaction. Did it amuse him? Absolutely. Was he going to back down, never. The vampire had approached him.
"Now, now, that wasn't very nice..." he shook his head. "What?" he laughed with a cheeky grin at his reaction. Was it really that easy to get him worked up? "Were you raised in a cave or something?" he shook his head as Eddy mentioned something about him staying outside. His nose twitched a bit and his head turned to the side before facing front again, eyebrows raised up.
He chuckled, raising a finger to tap his chin pointedly. "Oh, speaking of rabies, I think the same thing could be said for a corpse," he stuck out his bottom lip with fake empathy. Myles didn't flinch as Eddy stepped closer to him. He just stared (glared) at him with his quiet confidence.

Edward resisted his urge to scoff when she apologised. The mere suggestion that he could be hurt was laughable to him now, but the idea that he couldn't be hurt was a completely false, no matter how hard he tried to pretend it wasn't. Even when they first ended things all that short time ago, he could have taken it a lot better than he did. Unfortunately no amount of brooding, or pretending he was the emotionless shell he seemed to be could hide the fact that inside he was still hurting over this..
He knew what it was like, probably more than most to want to find some identity in this world. Maybe the fact they had that in common was one of the reasons they bonded so well back then. Even after Eddy was turned, and became a real part of his clan, he still struggled. Unsure if he had made the right choice, or if any of this new life of his was right, but even with the ideologies and laws of his species behind him, he liked to think he was still his own person. Clearly that's where him and Audra differed.
"You say that like I don't know what it's like. The rest of the dogs don't want to play with you? boo fuckin' hoo. If I go against my clan I'm dead. That doesn't stop me from living my life. Doing what I want to do, and that shouldn't have stopped you." Eddy shrugged faintly. Knowing he had said too much. It wasn't like any of this could change how things had ended now. She had made her decision.
He could tell she wasn't going to be parting ways with Edward here any time soon. There was still so much more to be said, even if neither of them knew what any of that was.

it was ridiculous, the entirety of this spat was, anyways. or at least, the way both individuals seemed to have been persistently, resiliently dancing around the grittier truths obscured from beneath the surface. nothing was absurd about the leading up to such results, however. the act of her coaxing his protective guard down, both essentially baring their souls to one another, all followed by an unceremonious show of tremendous negligence on her part. granted, she held her reasons for doing so, nothing she could say would likely, magically wash the pain and betrayal away ── and deep down, she understood she held no other choice but to accept that.
shoving both hands into her jacket's pockets now, as though she weren't already warm blooded by nature, audra shifts her weight from one foot to another. and it's laughable to say she's that same nervous young woman again, transported back to the very moment she had came clean and fessed up her deepest, most authentic feelings for him, but it was factual. muffling a shaky sigh, albeit she was one hundred percent certain he'd hear it ── pinpoint it, anyway ── attempts are still made to conceal symptoms of high stakes anxiety.
"i'm sorry for hurting you, edward," audra finally breathes out, gaze flittering from his eyes to his lips in half a second, and back, prior to her continuance, "my apology won't make up for all the times i up and disappeared, refused to give you closure, and i understand that. but i need to let you know it wasn't done out of spite. i was still struggling with how to control being what i am ── between the full moons and trying to find my identity, joining a pack ── everything blurred together so quickly. i didn't want to burden you. and i know, it sounds dumb. we started out as best friends so if anything, i should have been comfortable coming to you with these kinds of thoughts, but i was so afraid of hurting you, accidentally doing something i couldn't come back from while not even fully understanding how to keep what's inside of me at bay, that i figured distancing myself was the answer, and for that i'm so sorry. you have every right to feel how you feel, but since we're going to be seeing each other around town pretty frequently, at least i could get that off my chest." gulping harshly, her vision momentarily drifts off to nothing in particular, scavenging about her brain whatever else to say before settling on a surrender, eyes meeting his again. "shoot off more insults you've got up your sleeve," a bitter chuckle emits, "can't say i don't deserve it, cause i do, but... there goes. anyways, have a goodnight." the irony of her farewell having been uttered considering she hasn't moved an inch, for the simple certitude being she doesn't find herself wanting to just yet.

Edward couldn't help but smirk at Luke's little joke. In any other circumstance he would have rolled his eyes, and tried to ignore such a juvenile way of 'flirting' but this wasn't an ordinary circumstance, and Edward was having just a little bit too much fun to dampen the mood. He couldn't quite ignore Luke's next comment though, pulling his lips away for just a moment. "Shut up." He demanded, not wanting to be reminded of what the boy was, as he leaned in again.
He pressed his hand against Luke's chest. He could feel the man's heartbeat, rapid, but at the same time steady. As he sinks his teeth in again. His tongue assisting slightly every time he pulls back an inch. Until he hears Luke ask him to take more.
He pulls away(reluctantly) and looks into Luke's eyes. Lips tinged and bloodied. Fangs on full display, eyes locked onto the man like a beast with it's prey. "No need to rush" Edward whispers. It's been a long time since he's had a drink so willing, something about it making the entire experience just that little bit more pleasurable for the vampire.
Tumblr media
Luke's knees weaken, and within seconds, he finds himself softly slumping against the wall behind his shoulders, the hand on his back being the only thing keeping him steady. Luke had expected a vampire's bite to be many things, but not this weirdly intimate and tingly. Edward draws himself back, and Luke's pupils are blown as well as his lips slightly parted. "You know what my blood says about me?" His lips hint a soft grin, "I've got an A+ personality."
Some blood is dripping down his throat, tinting his shirt a bloody red. "Does it taste like dog?" He snorts, softly, eyes constantly looking up at Edward, "Because you pretty much acted like it would, hate for werewolves and all. Does not seem much like it now." Teasing, treading dangerous waters, his greatest talents. "Would you like some more?" Now he's whispering, too. His heard is still beating fast, and in a matching speed, the blood is slowly dripping over his skin, "Wouldn't want that to go to waste."
If his father knew where he was, he would destroy the whole city out of anger on his way to Eddy's apartment. And Luke loves it. But now that he's here, there's more to it -- Eddy is doing something to him, and Luke has not yet decided if it is good, or bad. "I can handle a bit more.", whispering again, "So come and take it."

As he stood there looking upon the girl Edward liked to think he showed great restraint. He would be lying to himself if he had thought the words he picked up on didn't hurt a little, and if he were to say he was over the situation. Truly he wasn't sure what it would take to get over what had happened. Back when he was mortal Edward had always found it took him longer than he showed to get over break ups, even the amicable ones.
He hated feeling this way about anybody. The fact that he had opened himself up, which was no easy feat for a man like Edward. He had bared his soul to this woman. There was truly a time in his life where he would have taken a steak to the heart, or stepped fourth into the sun for the tattooist stood before him, and now he struggled to even look at her. That didn't stop himself from maintaining his stare though.
His blank expression cracked into a light smirk at the suggestion he had any desire for werewolves. "Kink? You were a fluke if anything, Caldwell." Eddy's smirk faltered just as quickly as it appeared. He stepped a few a couple of steps towards the girl, reluctantly. Not breaking his contact with her for a even a moment.
Hear her piece. There had been many many opportunities in which Edward could had heard her side of the story, but none in which he cared to hear her out. In Edward's eyes a middle ground could not be found when he was so above her in every way he could think of. Still, with only a glass of wine waiting for him in his quiet apartment, and his night at the club not proving at all fruitful, he was a little willing of the entertainment, of letting her plead her case.
"That's Edward to you now, Audra." He remarked. Nicknames being reserved for his friends and people he actually cared to be around. "And go ahead. Tonighst been rather dull, I could do with a laugh."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that evening in westray presented a perfectly cool setting ── moderately deserted streets, soft glimmering of lights illuminating sidewalks ── a setup practically made for beings of their alignments, otherworldly creatures to emerge and frolic about. except, audra was the furthest in the mood from desiring to run amuck, no. instead, her ideal getaway would've been within the premises of her apartment, standing under a scalding stream of water and cracking open a cold one after to wind down. much to her displeasure however, said plans would be a bit delayed at the discretion of a tall, dark haired immortal standing mere feet away.
"here we go," an utterance resounds just beneath her breath combined alongside an eye roll heavily emphasized with vexation. as much annoyance racked her senses in that particular moment? audra couldn't cast blame on edward for being as exasperated as he was. had the shoe been placed on the other foot, she was sure she'd feel the same way. to trudge through life ── so many traumas and turning points having occurred ── promising self to never get too close, only to finally be persuaded and as a result? to be ultimately shattered, to become a more hollowed shell of an individual than initially intended.
even at odds with one another, and for good reason pertaining from both perspectives, audra still found it deep within herself to understand him. now if only he could understand her. inner musings contradict her actions as similarly as his own did for him once audra discovers herself responding, "surprising you haven't invested already." continued jingling of keys echo into the abyss of the night while she shoves them into one of her leather jacket's pockets, "considering your werewolf kink and all. appreciate the offer though." the sarcasm was painfully hard to miss.
legs are edging towards the precipice of carrying her around his form, to travel back to her personal headquarters before the exchange between both parties escalated too far, too soon. and audra makes a mental note to not stoop down to his level, cease from throwing out harsh insults about vampires or 'walking corpse' diatribes. because for one, she was once very much involved, very intertwined with said vampire, so she'd be a hypocrite ── and that she couldn't allow ── but for two, she would later on acknowledge to her core that she wouldn't have truly meant anything spoken prior. and she couldn't afford to say or do anything else she wouldn't willfully own up to, not since leaving him especially.
"as much as i do enjoy a good back and forth, it's getting old, and it's late," she sneers, professionalism long gone from her tone compared to several hours ago, "unless you're willing to hear my piece about what happened and reach a middle ground, then great, let's be adults for a change. otherwise, i'll leave you to it. so... what'll it be, eddy?"

Eddy's cunning smirk dropped quite dramatically at the notion he would not be leaving with the book today. His boss had demanded it, and he knew all too well what happened when he upset his boss. In any other situation and perhaps with any other person, Edward would have likely grabbed the book and ran. He wasn't going to do that now though. He was in the presence of a lady, and if his boarding schools days had taught the old man anything, it was that you always show respect in the presence of women.
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I only borrowed it." Edward pleaded, his muddled accent suddenly laying it on heavy with the stereotypical British charm, hoping to win the girl over. "What if I pay you. I really need to borrow this book. I'll do anything, just name your price." Edward had accumulated quite a hefty net worth over the years, even if he did work a rather menial job. He'd likely put forth all his entire bank account to take this book right now, if it meant avoiding his boss' wrath if he were to come back empty handed.
Tumblr media
as eddy declined the coffee, kate nodded and walked to make herself one. sleepless nights were slowly getting her as she fought the urge to take a nap. this was certainly not professional, not in front of a client after all.
hearing his question if she found it, the woman looked at the shelf and answered from the back shop. "just a minute!" she then finally recognized the cover of the book her grandmother once showed her. this collection was particular, she wasn't allowed to sell that book, nor to even lend it. if one requested it, they would have to stay here and read to gather the information they needed. as she walked back to eddy, kate smiled at him and slowly set the book on the table.
"there you go." she then added: "i unfortunately can't let you go home with it. this is a personal collection and i vowed to my late grandmother to keep it safe. you can browse the information you need here, though."

Deep down Edward knows this isn't a situation he should ever find himself in, but at the same time he can't help but indulge. It had always been the worst kept secret that his hatred for wolves was purely combative. If it hadn't been for Audra and the tragic little love story that had unfolded there, maybe Eddy would be feeling a little less conflicted right now with Luke's neck between his lips. Still, he showed no signs of backing away.
He was more than used to hearing his prey plead between heavy breaths, but with Luke it felt all too different. He wasn't begging to be spared like most that felt themselves in presences of Edward's hunger, but quite the opposite.
As he felt the touch of the man's hand against his chest, he couldn't help but reach forward, and press his fingers against Luke's waist, partly to steady himself but also because he just yearned for the man's touch.
"I heard you." Edward mutters back as he sinks his fangs into the young wolf's scalene. It had been quite some time since Eddy had felt a person's heartbeat through his lips, often opting for second hand options when it came to quenching his thirst, but he was so glad of this change.
The smell of Luke's cologne intensified, but Eddy soon found his way through the musk of it. The taste overwhelming his senses as he slowly began to drink. Not wanting to get too carried away he pulled back after a few moments. Locking eyes with the young man. A soft smirk hidden beneath a bloodied jaw.
"How nice of you to drop in." He whispered. Trying to resist every urge inside of him to attach himself again. Never the type to want to rush a good time at the risk of wasting it.
Tumblr media
It's weird, really. When Luke is pulled forward, his inner wolf wants to resist, wants to claw his way out of the embrace and escape. The teeth daring to bite trigger his reflexes to submit, and while he does not draw away, Luke allows himself to melt into the vampire's touch, and to bare his neck. Anticipation is rushing through his body like a lightning, one hand finds Edward's chest to steady himself, his heartbeat speeding up even more. "What are you waiting for?", Luke gasps.
He's not entirely sure what brought him to Edward's apartment. Maybe it had been his father's behavior, or the multiple fucked up fights at the Sixth Sense. Maybe, deep down, he did not distaste Eddy as much as he wanted to, solely because of his species. But he smells so earthy, like the forest, after it has just rained, so good that Luke catches himself sniffing in his scent, his mouth slightly agape. "Please." He says the word so softly that his voice almost cracks, his fingers digging into the fabric of his shirt. The smell of the rainy forest is mixed with red wine, deliciously.
Seconds later, Luke finds himself leaning back against the door he just came through to steady himself, desperation glowing in his eyes, "I said please.", spoken like a rich brat, that was never denied anything, and always gets what he wants.

Edward had finished up an absolutely dire shift at the club and was heading home for the evening with no plans other than to sit on his sofa and catch up on all his soaps, the only thing he ever really used that old box in his living room for. Wanting to prolong his leisurely stroll back to his apartment to try and take his mind off of the fact he really had nothing to rush home to, he had found himself taking an alternative route back. A scenic route, if you could call it that.
The only thing he hadn't taken into account in this little routine shake up, was that his new way home had taken him right by that crappy little tattoo shop at closing time. He looked up from his path and as the sound of jingling keys and that all too familiar scent hit his senses, he found himself staring, ticking off every creepy vampire stereotype in one go. Stood in the shadows, eyes fixated, wishing he could just rush off into the night, but she had seen him now. It was much too late for all that.
"Argue?" he almost scoffed at the very thought that he would ever waste another moment of his time, that he had plenty of, arguing with the girl. It was hard to believe that there was once a time in Edward's life that he would had done anything for the woman stood before him. The word love didn't come easy in Eddy's life, lust, sure plenty of times, but love, that was always a thing vampires were discouraged from doing. He was never very good at following the usual vampiric rules though.
At first he truly debated just rolling his eyes and going in another direction, but unfortunately Eddy had time tonight and wasn't in the mood to be the bigger person.
"You know I'd offer to walk you home, but I sadly didn't bring a leash-" It was harsh. Petty. A little mean. Extremely childish. Even by Edward's standards, but the sight of the woman put him in a mood, and not a very good one.

exhalation of a long winded sigh rushes from audra as she steps over the threshold to her occupation, fumbling keys into the door's keyhole to lockdown, marking yet another day's denouement. her love for tattooing was irrevocable, passionate, on the verge of consuming, even ── though the brunette would be lying if she didn't admit to some customers being an absolute piece of work. shaking curled tresses about in an attempt to rid her reverie of negative thoughts regarding the previous nine hours, that all too familiar 'click' indicates the security of inklined, audra subsequently spinning on her heels to advance towards her path back home.
or that was her plan, anyway. standing before her was edward, best friend turned lover turned enigma ── the latter which was her doing. sensations of giddiness and excitement elicited by the mere sight of him are now otherwise replaced with guilt and melancholy, though a hint of yearning remained apparent. "not in the mood to argue tonight," she quips dejectedly, "just wanna go home, s'been a long day. now, if you want to continue standing there like a deer caught in headlights, then by all means..." eyes languidly gazing at him, brows rise, expectant of a response. she knew all too well he'd have nothing nice to say, why would he? he wasn't the one to send their relationship to the back burner ── no heads up, no messages, nothing. still, she couldn't deny the portion of her actively hoping they could make amends, hoping he would hear her out and more importantly, understand.

The fact that the mere mention of Eddy's clan rang any sort of bell in the young woman's mind was likely a red flag. It either meant she knew her history, or that she knew their history. He had to play this safe nonetheless.
He took a seat the moment she suggested he do so. Not one for taking orders in any form, apart from when they came from his boss', he was a little taken aback by how much 'power' this girl seemed to have on him, and so soon too. "not thank you" he hollered back when she went to venture for the book. In all his years he had never seen the appeal in any beverage that didn't get you the least bit tipsy, especially one specifically designed to keep you awake since Eddy never slept anyway.
"did you find it?" Edward asked, having little hope, but knowing he'd much rather not go back to his boss empty handed.
Tumblr media
kate noticed the quiet behavior of the man, wondering if he was okay. it happened once that a client became all of a sudden quiet before fainting. she would rather not have this again. although uncomfortable to ask, the witch remained quiet and hoped that this wouldn't be the case. her smile grew warmer as he explained that he was looking for a book. a light chuckle escaped her lips as she added: "well that's a start, you are in the right place." she shook her head and recover her serious face to listen to the details he would give her.
it seemed that the book he was looking for was ancient, which gave her a clue about where to find it. perhaps in the locked part of the library, where most of the books collected by her grandmother rested. as he gave her the name of a group of people, kate's features lit up. "this rings a bell to me." she started thinking, searching in her memory where she may have found that book in the library.
as he introduced himself back, kate smiled. "the pleasure is all mine, mr fitzgerald." the english accent didn't impress her much, she just simply nodded and offered him a seat. "please have a seat, i will go and find the book for you." her smile was natural, professional as she slowly walked in the locked part of the library. "would you like a coffee?" she asked from the locked library as her green hues scanned the books and she pointed a finger out by whispering the name of the venetores. a book met her halfway and she grabbed it to check if this was the right one.

Edward sighed a sigh of relief when the girl seemed to be all patched up and on her way back to the dressing rooms. He knew he had made a good call asking Sofie to come help, but was still amazed at how effortless his friend made it all look and how fast she managed to get the job done.
He couldn't help but smirk at the crappy joke made by the nurse. A rarity from Edward, who never liked any kind of vampire pun or tease. Perhaps the fact that she had patched up one of his best dancers just had him in a better mood all of a sudden, and prepared to let a couple of jokes at his expense slide. "Sweet huh?" Considering his usual clientele Eddy didn't make sweet drinks too often. With his guests sticking to some good old fashioned O Negative, or maybe a vodka rocks. That didn't mean he couldn't make a sweet one though, and the not so young bartender began mixing a fruity little number for the nurse that saved his ass tonight.
"Anything for you Sofie." He nodded, opening up the till and pulling out a fifty "For your troubles. You really did me a solid tonight." He smiled, offering the note between his fingers "I'll keep it in mind, but not tonight, I'm all good." He nodded, though the offer did always sound appealing.
He decided not to comment on her brother, not wanting to upset her in any way right now by sharing his thoughts on the man. Luckily he was soon distracted by her less fortunate attempt at vampire humour.
"You know I'm not a big film guy, Sof - and the more I hear about this Cullen prick the less I wish to see those movies." Eddy remarked, rolling his eyes dramatically.
Tumblr media
"Would you like something to drink?" Sofie gently taps her throat with two fingers, "You seem hungry." When she finally finishes patching up the young woman, she sends her off with a few reassuring words, the suggestions to take one day off of work, and a few gentle rubs to her upper arms. "Take care of yourself and watch your back." The dancer thanks her, then hurries back to the dressing room, and Sofie turns around to the bar, to finally nod at the offer of a drink. "Sure. Perhaps a Bloody Mary?" A stupid, old joke she has made way too often, "Just kidding. Something sweet, like I always get, would be perfect."
Tumblr media
Sofie gently nudges his side with her elbow, "Of course I came. I told you you could call me any time you wanted, and I stay true to my words. My offer also still stands. You know I don't mind giving you some blood, even if my brother likes to pretend I commit a war crime doing so." An amused twinkle passes through her eyes, "How are you doing, Edward? Started sparkling in the sunlight yet, or do I have to wait a few more decades before vampires start doing that in reality?" The amused twinkle morphs into a full-faced grin, "Sorry. Long night."

A night off from the club was a true rarity for Edward and usually he would be making the most of it in any way he could, which usually resulted in a night on the town or somehow ending up back at the club no matter what, but tonight he felt like a change. His nights out had started to become a tad repetitive so to break the cycle he had decided on staying in this time. It felt like it had been decades since he had curled up on his sofa with a glass of wine for a quiet night in, and by the faint sound of an engine revving just outside his door, that quiet night just wasn't meant to be.
When the engine stops, it's sound is replaced by that of a strong heart beat. A weirdly familiar one, as if they aren't all pretty much the same. He stands up from his sofa and heads slowly towards his door. It's not like he's the only person on this block, but something tells him whoever that heart belongs to, is here for him and him alone.
He does his best to pick up a smell. Something he has never struggled with before and always a strong indicator of what sort of danger lurks beyond his doorstep, but this time he seems to be finding it hard to pick anything up other than car exhaust, the whiff of a candle lit in the corner of his own room, and some extremely expensive smelling cologne.
Then he hears it. The moment the boy's voice reaches his ears he suddenly feels like an utter dunce for not realising sooner who it was. That battered engine sound and fancy cologne should have been his main indicator. Against his better judgment he opens the door up. Laying eyes on Luke. Resisting every single urge he has to smile at the boy on his doorstep.
Before he can even welcome him in the young chef is already stood in his living room and for one of the first times in his entire(extremely long) life, Edward is at a loss for words.
So rather than waste any time on unnecessary pleasantries honestly struggling to think of any, he pulls Luke forward. Teasing the man's skin with his teeth.

@eddyxftzz -- eddy's place
Luke's not entirely sure what he is doing. His Porsche is parked on the street, looking more than just out of place. He showered, on purpose, before seeking out the address he has been staring at for the last few hours. It's the middle of the night, but Luke knows vampires usually don't sleep, anyway. His white shirt seems too pristine for the occasion, so he threw on a blue hoodie jacket on top of it, paired it with loose jeans. His heart is beating like crazy, so loud that he can hear it in his ears, and he's sure that Edward can hear it, too. Finally, he knocks. A few short ones, before he swallows hard and raises his voice, "It's me."
The door opens, and Luke slips inside before anyone can see him, if they haven't already. "You get on my nerves.", he almost whispers, "You drive me insane." Slowly, he unzips his hoodie, tosses it to the side, not caring what it hits, "I need you to do it." His voice is more firm now, convincing, "Take it. Whatever you want." Admitting that he feels drawn to Edward is hard, but less when he blames it on his father, and his own, teenage (not so teenage anymore) rebellion. The next sentence makes the hairs on his arm stand up, and makes his heart beat even faster, "I trust you."

Edward really hadn't taken any notice to the name on the card, not caring what was printed on them, as long as they didn't bounce at the end of the night. Curious though, he looked down at the card. Hawthorne. A name he really only knew in the vaguest of ways. He knew it was an important one, but of course maybe this kid was right about them stepping in a place like this since Eddy had yet to actually meet one, until now. "I've been called worse I guess." Edward joked.
"Never said you were scared. Don't strike me as the scared type. I would just much rather not have to deal with a fight breaking out here. You look like you can more than handle yourself, kid." Eddy shrugged. He knew none of the vampiric guests would ever start beef at his bar, not wanting to deal with the threat of the cops being called and everything that came with that, but he couldn't exactly speak for the mortal bar dwellers.
Edward's smirk grew at Rowan's response, but for once, he decided not to speak on it. Pouring the man another drink almost as quickly as he finished it. "You'd have to put down a pretty hefty tip for that to happen, mate. My days of doing private shows are long behind me." Eddy teased.
He looked up at Rowan. Unsure how to unsure yet again. Truthfully of course he had been in town for almost a century. But as with his age, his answer when dealing with humans varied quite often. "Long enough." He sighed, almost deciding to leave it there, but not wanting to sound too ominous. "It feels a lot longer though. This job ages you, and I feel like this town does too."
Tumblr media
"Not fucking bougie enough.", he muses, amused sparkle rushing through his eyes, "You read that name on the card. My family would rather be caught dead than be caught here." Rowan leans back on his stool, "You're exactly my age.", he analyzes, surprised, "You seem like a rather old soul." A pause echoes through his whole body, and while Rowan's body does not move, his eyes do -- up at Edward, skeptical.
"You think I'm scared some robbers are gonna sack me and steal some of my money?" An amused noise follows his question, "Nah, dude. Not scared at all. They can listen all they want." After all, Rowan hopes they come for him, just so he can take them out in a good, long fight. Violence is what he truly craves, but setting a foot into the Sixth Sense might be a death sentence.
"Oh, so I'm the highlight of your days?", Rowan jokes softly, emptying his glass and demanding it to be refilled, "You should have said that right away, dove. I would have come around more often. Booked a special service with the bartender." His whole body hurts, and the alcohol is barely helping with the numbing. "How long you been in Westray?" Because he surely must have seen him around at some point.

"Miss you?" Eddy scoffed. "What's to miss?" Every time a whiff of the retched curator passed by Eddy's nose he truly felt like barfing. He couldn't quite believe that there was a time he tolerated such an odour. Still, those days were long gone now, and he had clearly matured a little since then. He now knew that there wasn't such a thing as a good dog.
He took another short sip of his drink. Keeping steady eye contact with the other as he stood there. Leaning up against the wall. Trying to keep his cool, which was hard to do around Myles, especially when he heard the man call him 'Kid', and as much as he tried to show that it didn't get to him, Eddy had never been good at hiding how he felt on his face.
He pushed himself from the wall and moved reluctantly closer towards Bishop. His unrelenting stare clouded only slightly by the smoke of his cigarette. "I guess it is only right to find you out here, though. Exactly where dogs belong, Outside." He paused, to finish off his glass. "I do hope you're not trying to pull tonight, would hate for any of these nice people to wake up tomorrow with fleas, or rabies, or whatever diseases you beasts carry"
Tumblr media
“Maybe you just missed me that much,” Myles said without flinching. The eye roll just meant that he was getting under the vampire’s skin. Enough to get him worked up a little bit. “I don’t know. I don’t know what you do in your free time. But if you are thinking about me, I’m flattered,” he snarked.
He shrugged. “Making sure that there’s no trouble,” he said, watching the vampire. “I’ll save you some trouble. You can put your fangs away, kid,” he arched his brow a bit. At his next comment, Myles just laughed. “Decent yes, until you come around,”
After a moment, he grinned. “I’m flattered, nonetheless,” he shrugged.

Being a little older than most of the regulars at The Walk, Edward had always been better at controlling his urges at the sight of blood. He knew it was likely one of the reasons most of these vampires came here so often. It was much easier to control those natural vampiric urges when there was less chance of being exposed to it.
He stepped back when the whiff of Sofie's bag hit him. Eyes lighting up soon after though at the sight of the bags. Half tempted to keep one for himself, but knowing there were guys here in dire need of it. He took the bags from Sofie. Tossing one rather nonchalantly to a nearby table of hungry looking patrons. Reaching over and putting the other behind the bar. "Thank you." He nods to the girl as she looks after the hurt dancer.
"Oh shit. How rude of me, would you like something to drink, Sof? and thanks again for coming so soon. I really appreciate it." He truly did. If she hadn't come he would have probably had to take the girl to the hospital himself, since there was zero chance he'd let a team of paramedics in here this late.
Tumblr media
"Right. Blood." Sofie was still getting used to the fact that vampires liked to drink it. Ever walk into a bar after a shift at the hospital, while being a human? Sofie had, and the hungry eyes had been scary. "Hi, I'm Sofie. Here's a good way to get rid of the hungry eyes.", Sofie directs her first words at the young woman, as she draws out a phial, and holds it in her direction, "Ammonia. Crack one open, and they don't run like dogs, but rather like puppies, and away from you. You can also ration it out. Use a glass bowl, pour some water, and then some of the liquid. Gives only a slight stench, but still make sure not to breathe in too much. Can hurt your brain."
Tumblr media
The smell of Sofie's backpack drowns out that of the girl's cut, and before anyone can question, Sofie draws out two prepped blood bags. "A student prepped them too early, and they were meant to be discarded. They're for you.", she tells Edward, "They shouldn't go to waste." She gives the girl a reassuring smile, sits down on a bar stool beside her, and gently lifts her leg into her lap, preparing her bandages and disinfectant, which she carefully rubs over the wound. Someone wrapped a jacket around her shoulders, but Sofie can still see the gorgeous blue bra beneath it, "I need to know where you got that from."

Edward was taken aback by the woman's smile and immediate kindness. Clearly he had been spending far too long around his own kind and wasn't used to somebody being so nice right away. Especially to a total stranger. It was refreshing. Eddy's smirk remained fixed across his lips as she spoke. Her almost hypnotising eyes, and kind smile making him nearly forget why he had begun this interaction in the first place, but he soon found his train of thought again.
"I'm looking for a book." He repeated. As if it wasn't obvious. "You probably don't even have it- and if you do it's probably way in the back collecting dust." He paused, completely blanking on the name, but at least he remembered the subject matter. "It's about a group of people, the Venetores." He thought it best to keep things vague. Luckily Eddy had that helpless and innocent airhead act down.
"Oh, Edward Fitzgerald. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms Hastings." He smiled a touch wider. Forcing that English accent of his a little more than uusal, knowing it added to his charm, and American girls always went crazy for that sort of thing, in his experience anyway.

kate had just ended her class, distributing lollipops for the kids who proved to be quite focused and interested in her lectures. "thank you for your attention, kids. and remember... not all witches are evil, always make the right choices with witchcraft." this was one of her main fights, willing to keep the hastings tradition live as she taught kids at an early age how to recognize what's good and what's not.
once the kids walked out of the library, kate simply cleared the space and made it more welcoming. it was one of her favorite corners: a little peaceful one where book lovers could simply sit and enjoy.
as she walked back in the front room of the library, kate noticed a young man standing there. she never saw him before, but he was quite handsome and had something particular in him that intrigued her. offering him a very warm smile, kate set the pile of books back on the counter before looking at him in the eyes. "yes, sir?"
her green hues watched him as he apologized for bothering her. "rest assured, no one bothers me. i am here to help." she chuckled gently, a light sparkle invading her hues. as he explained that he was looking for a book, kate smiled and looked down for a few seconds before looking back at him.
"of course. the shop is quite big, i must admit." she commented before then asking: "may i ask you what kind of book you are searching for? i have plenty of categories, if you tell me the main topic, i may be able to help you." her tone was warm as she was eager to go on this special mission to find the right book for this man.
"i am kate hastings, by the way."
