Spring is in the air, even if it snowed last weekend, so why not warm up and at least pretend that spring has sprung with something hot, queer, and magical?

Spring has arrived in the Mossbloom Forest and it brings a bounty of plants and roots waiting to be foraged. Vailintin, a mage living on the boundary of the Mossbloom, enjoys a leisurely walk into the forest for oyster mushrooms and onion grass for their breakfast omelette. But a bush full of honeyberries will divert their quest. After a simple taste, Vailintin wants more. This feverish search will lead them deeper into the forest, across raging rivers, and straight to the heart of the forest itself... ...And the handsome unitaur that guards it.

Springtime Sweetness is 8k words of sweet-heat monsterfucking between the mage Vailintin Delacey and Helior Bloomherald, guardian of the Mossbloom forest. Vailintin is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, and Helior is a cis male unitaur (centaur with a unicorn horn.)

"The Capital..." Vailintin's eyes glaze over as they remember growing up in their father's house. How angry he had been, and how happy they were to leave for their mother's family, despite the treacherous journey. "I grew up there as a child, but I haven't lived there in years. I'm happy to be away from it."

Mizuko rested her head on the back of her hand. She closed her eyes for a bit then a maid disappeared getting the stranger a drink of water. "How long have you lived by the Capital?" The blind woman asked getting up and stretching before sitting back down. "Have you ever been to the capital?" She dropped the whole money thing but would give it to him eventually. "I was born there. It's so uptight and too many people."

Vailintin awkwardly shuffles, waiting for Mizuko to dismiss them. While it isn't the first time that they've been caught between a relationship during a delivery, the crowd of men around the front door should have tipped them off.

"Miss Mizuko, that's entirely too much!" Vailintin yelps as they're offered the money. "I was already paid for this delivery; you don't need to give me anything. If anything, I should be apologizing to you for infringing on your time and privacy."

They keep their hands clasped in front of them, not accepting the money. "No, I have no interest in courting you. If I may infringe on your hospitality, may I have a glass of water, please?"

One of the maids disappeared and reappeared with a couple of pills and water. Then give the man a $200 tip for the flowers before apologizing. Explaining she was just sick of fake admirers and attention at the time. "You want something to drink?" The blind woman asked adjusting herself in her seat to get away from the bright sun.

"Are you hungry?" One of the other maids disappeared and went outside to make the crowd leave in hopes of relieving Mizuko's headache. "You are always welcomed as long as you don't try to court me."
