With Risen out for everyone to enjoy, the series has ended. Without trying to spoil anything (at least till its 2022) for those who are still reading, what do you think Jacka will do next.
Do you think there will be a new series with characters we already know and love? Will there be a new series with new characters, but in the same world where he built everything up already? Or will he start something new?
I honestly would love a new series in the same world. Maybe something in Australia and it's mage structure? Or an adept pushing for recognition and equality as an issue that's been in the books that allowed Richard to manipulate them in events like the Tigers Palace
Honestly there is so many new paths in his world we can enjoy. But what do you think?

If you have written or drawn for fandoms that have little to no content, I want you to know I appreciate you. Your affection for that fandom is so inspiring, and it might be a small fandom but it’s a loved one cause it’s loved by you.
#All 4 of us chilling in the alex verus tags lol#Hi I'm alive just started uni and it kicked my ass#Alex verus

i have two approaches to canon
So if we extrapolate from this one-off line in episode fifteen, as well as this tweet by the creator and the answers given at this comic con panel from 2014, we can infer that this character’s relationship with salad is more complex than it first appears …
*pulls down sunglasses and points a flamethrower at the source material* Death of the author, baby.
#This is me writing my alex verus fic#I spent hours looking up canon details like what metal was put on the dreamstone but rearramged major plot things in a way that actually#Makes zero sense anymore lol#I needed the shop to be around therefore the night stalkers never happened which absolutely tears apart the events that led to alex working#For morden#Oops

I weirdly love that there are crotchety fandom elders around who say shit like “in my day, (insert fandom term) meant this specifically, but now you kids just use it to mean any old thing.”
It seriously gives fandom such a sense of heritage and family, like yes grandma, tell me more about how you had to write fic uphill both ways in the snow when you were my age.
#I am fandom grandma#I have written like 15 double-drabbles in my life#I was like 16 and they were all wincest and I'm not telling you where half of them eventually got uploaded#I used them as lil exercises to write every day cause 200 words was a really nice amount of words for a daily goal

my dad–also a writer–came to visit, and i mentioned that the best thing to come out of the layoff is that i’m writing again. he asked what i was writing about, and i said what i always do: “oh, just fanfic,” which is code for “let’s not look at this too deeply because i’m basically just making action figures kiss in text form” and “this awkward follow-up question is exactly why i don’t call myself a writer in public.”
he said, “you have to stop doing that.”
“i know, i know,” because it’s even more embarrassing to be embarrassed about writing fanfic, considering how many posts i’ve reblogged in its defense.
but i misunderstood his original question: “fanfic is just the genre. i asked what you’re writing about.”
i did the conversational equivalent of a spinning wheel cursor for at least a minute. i started peeling back the setting and the characters, the fic challenge and the specific episode the story jumps off from, and it was one of those slow-dawning light bulb moments. “i’m writing about loneliness, and who we are in the absence of purpose.”
as, i imagine, are a lot of people right now, who probably also don’t realize they’re writing an existential diary in the guise of getting television characters to fuck.
“that’s what you’re writing. the rest is just how you get there, and how you get it out into the world. was richard iii really about richard the third? would shakespeare have gotten as many people to see it if it wasn’t a story they knew?”
so, my friends: what are you writing about?
#Who isn't working through their issues with fanfic?#Absolutely writing about being tired and overwhelmed forever#With some romance and being understood and seen in there cause i don't wanna depress myself further#Fanfic#Fanfic writer#Writer#Writing

if you read a fic, please just. leave a comment. any comment. you can copy-paste comments if you have to. literally any variation “i read this, i enjoyed this, thank you for writing it.”
the basic acknowledgement that their work has been read makes a huge difference to a writer’s motivation.

If you can’t think of anything to say about a fic, writers also like to know:
- what time it is
- how long you’ve been reading
- how many chapters you’ve covered in the last 24 hours
- what you were late for because you were reading
- the woeful few hours you have left to sleep
- the emotional outbreaks you’re experiencing
- the inappropriate place you’re having said outbreak
- the general public’s reaction to your outbreak
- how much phone battery you have left
