EVERY DAY I DREAM ABOUT SUBBUTEO - a podcast from EDIDAS. "Flickers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your PlayStations" Like most men born in the 50s and 60s, Steve, Pete and Chris loved playing Subbuteo in their childhood. Then girls, music and being cool got in the way. Having failed at all three; in their mid thirties and unemployed - Steve, Pete and Chris rediscovered their love of 'the beautiful game'. Hiding themselves away for fear of ridicule, they fine tuned the rules and perfected their game until they were ready to unleash "their" version of Subbuteo on an unsuspecting world. Twenty years later, real life has got in the way again and this is their story. Who featured in their fantasy teams; what was the drug rule; what the bloody hell is a 'POA'? What happened when they came out of their closet; did anyone take any notice and just what is 'The Beautiful Leg'? The answers to all of these questions and much, much more can be found in the four part podcast EVERY DAY I DREAM ABOUT SUBBUTEO. If you can imagine a Woman's Hour 'special' on Spinal Tap you're halfway there. At worst, EDIDAS come across as middle aged blokes recreating their youth; but the laughter, madness and obsession of it all paints a picture of....oh alright, middle aged blokes recreating their youth but having a bloody good time. Here's to retirement so they can do it all again!
