hey all! long time no see. recently i’ve been streaming a bit of FFXIV on Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/astro_vee

just chilling, mostly - the world has been...a LOT recently, and FFXIV is something that’s been helping me unwind, so sharing it has been a joy.

please please normalise healthy, mature friendships! 

friendship is so wonderful and intimate and such an important type of love, but, just as it’s unhealthy to have your happiness depend entirely upon a romantic partner, it’s unhealthy to have it depend  entirely on a friend.

friends support and care for one another, but friends aren’t therapists or miracle workers and it’s unfair to expect that of them.

so love your friends. develop meaningful and valuable friendships. understand that people get busy, or sick, or tired. give yourself the same understanding. you’ll be so much happier when you remove the unrealistic expectations from yourself and others.

If someone isn't available during your most crucial time, then their presence any other time is useless.

NZ General Elections are Sept 19th 2020

Along with the election, there are two referendums on the ballot.

The euthanasia and cannabis legalisation referendums.

A 50% vote will enact the End of Life Choice act 2019 twelve months after the final votes are counted.

It will only take a 50% vote for cannabis legalisation to introduce a bill to parliament with the details of the bill to be worked out at that time with community input.

Mailing forms to double check your enrolment are already being sent out. You can even enrol if you are outside the country but still a legal citizen or permanent resident. There are multiple language forms available for ESL speakers.

The Covid situation is being monitored and accounted for at https://vote.nz/

Early voting at select locations will be open from the 5th of September, queue numbers will be managed and hand sanitiser will be available.

You can vote from hospitals, rest homes and prisons so even if you foresee yourself being held up you can still vote.
