“Effie?” he asked, noticing the other as the chair was knocked over, “woah, hey,” he said, going into father mode as he walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “C’mon, let’s go home”
“Quit.” Effie shrugged off Gabe’s hand automatically. She couldn’t calm down no matter what soothing thought she tried to put in her head. She couldn’t grasp why but it wasn’t as if in the moment she cared too much. “What’s that even going to do? Maybe you’ll just disappear on me too tomorrow.”

“Of course it matters.” Ashlyn’s voice was soft as she approached the other girl. “If it means something to you– if it hurts you, it matters so so much.” She assured her, conviction clear in her tone. “We could talk about it… or we could get cotton candy, or pizza. It’s all on me.” She hated seeing people sad like this.Â
“People keep leaving me or they die. What’s junk food going to solve?” Effie saw little no point. Despite all her positivity she was more than frustrated and she couldn’t contain the anger she felt toward the entire situation. “I sound whiny but whatever. It’s fucking unfair.”

“You work here.” The repeated words hid his surprise, concealed instead with an amused shake of his head. Did she realize the potential danger she signed up for? It was like she continued to walk down another rabbit hole. But hey, who was he to tell her what to do and what not? “Curiosity.” The vampire wasn’t lying after all, and next a short laugh left his lips and he took a drink of his glass. “To cheat? Of course not, but thank you for pointing that out.” Some hundreds of years ago, that could have been a different response. “No worries, darling. She’s around.”Â
“Sure do.” Effie knew she’d get that look plenty but that was fine. The surprise factor was pretty fun anyhow when it came to a few people. “Then curiosity's not a bad thing in this case. It’s a pretty cool place. You should stick around for a while if you got the time.” Wife or not she doubted it was a big deal if she was close by or whatever.

“Fortunately, hunger can be cured!” Gen said with excitement. “It’s bow tie pasta with alfredo sauce,” Gen said pouring a bowl to the other. “What can I say I love a challenge.”Â
“Well see that does sound good,” she responded with a smile while taking the bowl. “Thanks. I guess they say sharing is caring and all that.”

Lukas clutched his chest as he leaned against the wall. He was here? In the flesh? The warlock tried to stand up-THUD. He was on the ground again. He heard some footsteps. Luke looked up. “Can you see me?” He rasped.Â
“Obviously.” Effie was almost a few steps beyond the guy when he spoke. Turning she rolled her eyes. “What? You think you had an invisibility cloak or something?”

Guilt or merely regret?..at this point the Siphoner wasn’t sure which emotion she felt the most besides merely being aware that she’d KILLED a person and for what…-just because they got in the way. She hadn’t intended on it; all she wanted was to make them unconscious but then a surge of power just trickled through the cracks and there he was…DEAD.Â
She’d spent way too long scrubbing the blood off her hands, parts of them were tender now (something that would perhaps remain a bleek reminder of what happened for as long as it took them to heal) and she’d spent far too long staring into space, that any passerby was sure to believe she was crazy.Â
Effie nearly collided with the other on her way home. Mostly because apparently she was staring into space. A huff of annoyance and the brunette crossed her arms. “What are you doing?” she snapped. “You’re literally in the way of everyone dude.”

Everything was shit despite a small glimmer that perhaps things were going well. She had a job right? She had friends. Yet two important people were gone and who was to say more wouldn’t go too? Even in the midst of the sadness there was an overwhelming anger that had her kicking over a bar stool in front of herself with a frustrated screech. “Fuck it,” the brunette muttered. “Doesn’t matter.”

She shook her head, “I tended to stay away from anything like this before,” she explained, “but I regret it now that I’ve seen this”
“Oh, well yeah it’s usually huge things like this. Typically in parks and people sit out with blankets or chairs and it’s a big deal.” Something she snuck to see every now and again. “I like the rainbow colored ones.”

“i’m new at this, the whole vampire thing.” Jenna confessed. “I… I shouldn’t of done that and I am so sorry. I really am. I could– if you let me I think I could heal you.”
“I’m sorry someone turned you into that,” Effie spoke. It was a grim reality in her opinion. Who wanted to be one of those things? “Yeah, please. I can’t really afford to show up to work like that...”

Celeste blinked in surprise, never expecting Effie to work in a strip club of all places.  “Oh,” she manages to say. She had nothing against such a line of work, but it was still a shock.  “Did you at least pick a place with good security? You need to be careful Effie. Some people can get a little….too into the show.” Â
“Trying something new.” It was the easier explanation for something along those lines. “It’s Lucifer’s place so I mean. Decent security all in all. I know to remain aware of my surroundings.”

Sid chuckled. “A unicorn would be fun I think,” She hadn’t seen one in a long time now actually. She missed them, and pegasus too. “Ah… I’m not sure. Maybe Sea Salt?” Did that count as a flavor? “Or Mint.”
“Right? Real life one but I feel like people would abuse the fact it’s around you know?” Sad reality of the world evidently. “Never had sea salt. Maybe I’ll have to try that. Mint is a solid winner too though.”

“Really? I hadn’t noticed.” She doesn’t mean to sound sarcastic if she does, she’s just never really cared much for her name and she never knew how to react with compliments. “Nice to meet you, Effie.” Tammy muses as she leans on the bar and nods her head. “Why do you people watch? Do you reckon that they’ve got interesting stories?”
“I think it’s cool.” It was a personal opinion at best and that was fine. She glanced at the other’s and shrugged her shoulder’s. “Maybe. Could be average joes who work nine to five or could be supers in hiding. Could be a array of things. You never know.”

“Take the number anyway. Think about it.” He ripped a piece off and held it out to her. “I’m Charlie.” He was Apollo, but he liked to keep up his alias around humans.
Effie looked at the piece of paper and nodded. “I got a guitar collecting dust at my place. How much do lessons go for that?” She was working and semi more able. So perhaps. “Effie. Nice to meet you.”

his brows pinch together. because he’s offended. hands are left mid air, like he’s still holding the cup ( and wishing it’d just magically reappear ). “ uh, ” he begins, wheeling around, with a raise of his eyebrow ( above the sunglasses he’s wearing because his eyes get a bit… weird when he’s like THIS ) and a click of his tongue. “ i’m sorry, what exactly am i witnessing right now? ”
“A decent person saving you from being a drunken mess,” Effie explained as she kept the glass to her right and out of his reach. “You’re welcome for that.” What if he stumbled in the road or something? As witness to how much he’d been drinking she’d be responsible of course.
