CHNT S1 FINALE SPOILERS BELOW!!!!

I am near certain that Jedidiah directly and deliberately killed Sydney. I believe it was premeditated. What I’m saying is, I disagree with the notion that he wasn’t directly responsible- that Sydney just so happened to die under his care, and he only told Sydney “your death was my fault” out of self-flaggelatory guilt.

That “what’s the first thing you do with a machine that isn’t working? You turn it off and back on again” line is pretty opaque to begin with… but beyond that, the most damning evidence is the date of Sydney’s death. We know Sydney’s death and subsequent resurrection took place on Halloween Eve or Halloween itself, October 30th/31st… nights when the veil between the realm of the living and the dead are famously the thinnest. That can’t be a coincidence. This makes me think Sydney’s death was premeditated with a time and date… which makes me think he didn’t “just so happen” to die (upon which Jedidiah scrambled to resurrect him)… but rather, his death was induced. Directly. By Jedidiah, so he could preform his resurrection while the veil was lifted. (This does feed into my “sydney is stuck in a liminal space between life and death” theory but thATS ANOTHER TOPIC)

Every day I’m drawn more and more to the drowning theory… I���ll have to write a ramble post on all the potential evidence for it, since it’s got A LOT. The poisoning theory still fascinates me though… and that “[Sydney] died tenderly on the clean sheets it was gifted” line throws me off… hmm. Ok thought dump over do with this what you will
