  ━━   hey, isn’t that EUGENIA HORATIA DEFNE SLUGHORN? i read a daily prophet article on them, once ; the 27 year old pure blood WITCH is a GRYFFINDOR alumnus who has gone on to be a ALCHEMIST AT APOTHECARIUM OF HORACE EF SLUGHORN. i’ve heard they can be quite ANALYTICAL & CONFIDENT, but i don’t know… they came off very RECKLESS & STUBBORN in that interview. it really is hard to know what to believe these days though, isn’t it?

EARLY YEARS Eugenia is far from stupid, and she is self aware to know that her existence wasn’t planned. Both of her parents much older than her peers, and so the way she was raised was somewhat antiquated in comparison.  Horace also had the habit of speaking to her like an adult at a young age prior to her starting Hogwarts. It’s believed that some of her memories of her early childhood were modified, because perhaps she was confound in too much.  She was raised around potions and the elite. With critical thinking lessons from her father, but as she grew older into her identity she started to pull away from that. Seeking out the comfort of her mother that wouldn’t bother her with such nonsense.

HOGWARTS By the age she started Hogwarts, there was one thing she knew in the youthful bones of her body. She hated Slytherin with every fiber of her being. Perhaps it was because it was part of her father’s expectations, and a mixture of hearing all about it while she grew into herself.  There was a triumphal feeling when the sorting house calls Gryffindor, and she could just picture the bemused expression of her father’s colleagues. There’s no way she could be bothered with the Pure Blood narrative, and instead focused on herself.  She hadn’t planned on meeting her best friend in Slytherin, Finlay Moody.  One of the solid three people she could tolerate from the house. Eugenia tried to stay tucked away in the background and focusing on her own magic. Mostly stayed to herself or the few friends she made, and thrust herself into learning. For the most part she was successful, but there was always the Slughorn name following her wherever she went.  It’s no surprise to her classmates that she took the side of the Dumbledore’s Army against the Death Eaters. There’s many speculations on why she would show her allegiance, it ranges from her father doing the same to the simple fact that they reached her first.  Horace would modify her memory around this time, and she believed her mother passed away at the battle. However, the truth of the matter is her mother is still quite alive.  NOW Eugenia throws herself into work as an alchemist trying to invent something to prolong life without the use of dark magic. Trying to replicate the Philosopher’s Stone with some modifications for her own personal reasons. Her father was elated that she took on an interest in potions and alchemy, but isn’t aware of her true intention. She works at her father’s Apothecarium, and aside from alchemy her favorite potion to make is Polyjuice. She rarely speaks to her father, and still to this day dodges the suitors he sends her way. Known to be a saboteur when it came to arranged dates or marriages her father has set up. RUMORS - not confirmed, but likely heard Eugenia knows the location of Horace’s horcux. One of the reasons her memories are modified. 

Eugenia is ‘secretly’ a Death Eater. This isn’t true, but during the battle of hogwarts her forearm was scarred with the mark. She looks onto it as a “blood traitor” scarred tissue, but not everyone thinks that. MEMORIES The modified memories aren’t the best job, and occasionally she has hallucinations that are her own memories. Though she has yet to make the connection, and usually throws it up to being exhausted.

HEADCANNONS

Eugenia absolutely hates her name, and would rather just be called Slughorn. 

Likely knows slight specifics on students that were in the Slug Club. Just because her father would continuously gloat about them. 

Has accidentally created explosions by combining certain properties, and blames someone else entirely for it.

Eugenia has the infamous Slughorn Hourglass and keeps it at the Apothecarium.

Even though she works in alchemy and with potions, she tends to always mess up in the kitchen. Either burning her food to a crisp, or not cooking it long enough.

She knows how to play the piano.

If she’s going through a glitch in her memories, she has been known to sleep walk on very rare occasions. Usually there are warning signs that she’s heading there. ( hallucinations, etc ).
