You're allowed to romanticize life. Every little stir of your coffee, every sip of your tea. The sounds of leaves and snow crunching under your shoes, and the way your breath curls through the air when it's cold. Life is beautiful, never forget.

Ostara Ideas
Tumblr media
Ostara is a celebration of the goddess Ēostre, the namesake of Easter. Ostara celebrates the transition from Winter to Spring. It is a time of renewal and creation. Here are some witchy ideas to celebrate the springtime:
Spring Cleaning: Around Ostara you will probably see a lot of people suggesting you cleanse spiritually but you can also cleanse physically! Clean and organize your space to prepare for the new season. Sweep around your home to chase out the bad energy and welcome in the spring. If cleaning all at once is a lot for you, just try to pick up a few things every day. If you do not know where to start cleaning, a good place is your altar!
Bathing: You can also physically cleanse your body. Use floral scented soaps or incense while bathing to get in the springtime spirit. You can also use a salt scrub to exfoliate your skin and scrub away negativity. This is not just limited to baths and showers! You can also clean yourself with a cloth or sponge. There were times in my life where this was all I could do to clean myself and that’s ok!
Spend Time in Nature: Go for a walk at the park, through the forest, in a garden. I suggest visiting your local nature reserves and botanical gardens. If you cannot leave your home, I suggest opening blinds and windows to let the spring air and sun into your space. You could also have someone bring you fresh flowers to experience the growing firsthand.
Bring the Nature Indoors: Decorate your space with pastels, whites, and dark greens. Set out a vase with flowers. Burn incense. Use soaps and perfumes made from flowers and herbs. Drink floral teas. Think of the ways you can incorporate the natural world into your indoor space. If you take things from nature be sure to give thanks and leave offerings.
Garden: Research native plants in your region and plant them on your lawn or in your garden. If you do not have such spaces in your home, look for a community garden in your area. Plots are often free if you apply. If that’s not an option, grow plants on your balcony or in your windowsill. Succulents are very hardy and will grow indoors as long as they get enough sun!
Give Offerings: In my experience, the fae are very active in the springtime. Now is a good time to leave out sweets and honey for them. You can also give offerings to your deities, especially if they are associated with springtime. Some good offerings are baked breads or pies, candles or incense, or floral teas.
Meditate: Find ways to connect spiritually to nature. If you can, meditate in nature or with your windows open. Meditation does not have to be particularly deep or involved. You can just take five minutes to breathe and thank nature. If traditional meditation does not work for you, try just going on a walk or listening to music.
Decorate Eggs: Painting and dying eggs is a long time tradition of Ostara. If you are vegan, consider making eggs out of clay to paint instead.
