The top 5 essential pieces for your wardrobe

When it comes to style I have always believed in having key statement pieces you can mix and match with any outfit. Here are the top five essentials that can be verisitle in you wardrobe all year around. Number one is a good quality black leather bag. Black leather goes with everything and will hold up to the test of time. My favourite definitely has to be Baggu's classic black leather tote. Lots of room for all your everyday essential items (and more). I've had mine for over a year and a half and the leather is still as smooshy and beautiful as the day I got it. Number two is black leather healed booties. Dress them up or dress them down you can't go wrong with a staple black bootie. Fryes Chelsea boots are comfy, practical and go with pretty much every outfit. Number three a classic leather jacket. Throw on your leather jacket over a body-con dress and white keds and there you have a cute and casual date night look. Something about a good leather jacket makes me feel like I can take on the world. #girlboss Number four is a loose fitting casual jean jacket. Levis is my favourite brand for jean jackets, loose fitting and the jean is always super soft. A jean jacket is the perfect staple piece to have in your wardrobe take any dress and make it casual by throwing a jean jacket over it. Check out your local thrift shops I always find the best ones that are perfect for destressing and kitching out yourself. Number 5 last but not least, the perfect pair of white sneakers. Keds "womens ace lace up sneakers" these sneakers are not chunky like your usual addidas tennis shoes and a lower cut, they look super cute with dresses, leggings, jeans and skirts! No need to break these shoes in either, comfy right off the bat! I wear white ankle socks with them and I would recommend going half a size down because the leather does stretch. I'm usually a six and half to seven but take a size six in these shoes. These keds will definitely be my go to sneakers all year around! Perfect with any outfit!

For the love of linen.

Whilst shopping for my usual cotton jersey fabric for my headbands ( still being one of my favourite fabrics) I came across this beautiful off white and navy blue striped linen fabric and I knew right away I must create something wonderful with it. Linen has been seen in a lot of local designers collections lately and for a good reason! I decided I needed to know more about this beautiful fabric I picked up and started doing my research and what I found out about it made my love for it grow even fonder. Linen is a light, long lasting sturdy natural material. The process of making flax fibre is very long and consists of sowing, weeding, laying, drying, threading, snatching, trimming the thread, and at last weaving. Linen production does not cause any harm to nature making it a sustainable Eco friendly fabric. The kind of fabric that can last a lifetime and carry on so many memories and stories. Linen fabrics are commonly used in everyday house hold items. The use of linen is far beyond just for beautiful clothing. Scientists have proven to show that pure linen bed sheets give you the perfect deep and healthy sleep. It is practicality and strength is what it is known for, making it one of the most versatile fabrics on the market. Being non allergenic it is great for people with sensitive skin. Linen also keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer, making it the perfect fabric to wear and use all year long.
