March 24, 1945 is the date this bad ol' puddy-tat debuted. His first cartoon was Friz Freleng's "Life With Feathers" (1945). In 1947, Sylvester was paired for the first time with Tweety Bird in another Freleng short called "Tweety Pie" and since then they have become an iconic Looney Tunes pair, almost inseparable. The Bob Clampett directed cartoon intitled "Kitty Kornered" (1946) was the first time the cat was paired with another legendary Looney Tunes character, namely Porky Pig.
