evan raised an eyebrow at narcissa’s speech. he couldn’t decide if it were annoying to him or if it, in fact, was quite genius. either way, he allowed her to sit near him. he would settle for her company instead of some random peer who’s presence he most likely would not be able to stand. “very well, black. you know, i’m quite surprised you’re not hanging around with your dear sisters.” he was about to take a bite of his s’more, but hesitated—again. he extended his arm toward the girl, offering up his snack to her. “do you want it?”
❪ ♔ ❫ Having known Evan most of her life, she had watched him grow from a pleasant young boy to a COLD, bitter young adult and she believed that perhaps she could bring the former back with the right attitude. She liked him more that way. And Narcissa ALWAYS got what she wanted. She gave him a small, PLAYFUL smile when he didn't shoo her away and instead accepted her odd explanation of why it was a good idea to sit with her, and only tensed slightly when he mentioned her sisters. She wasn't speaking to Andromeda much these days. She didn't APPROVE of the company she kept and so it was mostly Bella she spent time with.
❝ I was with Bella when I first arrived...she went off to go speak with one of her friends. So, I decided to do the SAME. Lucky you, I chose to sit here. Now it's your job to entertain me, Rosier. Shouldn't be TOO hard for you, now. ❞
She seemed AMUSED by her own words, but pointedly left out any explanation of her middle sister. She didn't even know where she was in this outing. Probably hanging out with one of those mudblood Gryffindors. She smiled at him when he offered up his treat to her but she shook her head, having already decided that she wasn't going to have any tonight. She simply did not trust they weren't tainted somehow. She was HOPING to start her fifth year without any disasters.

“I know, I know.” Bellatrix says, still trying to shake herself out of the funk she’d been in all morning. “could you fix it? you’re so much better at these things than me.” bellatrix wasn’t horrible with makeup but her sister was much better. it was hard to think about asking people in her class for notes, even the other slytherins were wary of her infamous temper. she didn’t mean to be so mean to people. she really needed someone to help her though, a professional. maybe she could get help when she married. she had plenty of her own money but getting help from a healer would be sure to be front page news, “BLACK GOES MAD!” was sure to be front page news in the daily prophet. she sighed heavily and looked in the mirror. it wasn’t awful, she didn’t have raccoon eyes because she’d used charmed mascara. her eyeliner, however, was another story. she’d stopped at a muggle drug store the day before going back to hogwarts and she’d been short on muggle money so she’d only had enough to get some cheap eyeliner. “god, what a day.”
❪ ♔ ❫ Narcissa had already placed her purse on the counter nearest to the sink, her lightly stained blouse already FORGOTTEN, and begun to search for her eyeliner so she could fix that part on her elder sister. She flashed her sister a COMFORTING smile, hoping that it would help at least a little. What else could she really do to help her in this situation ??
❝ Ah !! Here it is. It's the good kind so it shouldn't run so much. Maybe you shouldn't go to the REST of your classes...take a mental health day, you know ?? You can't focus when you're not feeling well, anyway. ❞
She turned her sister so that she was facing her and firmed her grip on her shoulders for a moment as if telling her without words that she needed to stay STILL before starting to wipe away her old makeup with a remover cloth so she could apply the NEW eyeliner.
