Father Lanthom is my freaking hero. I love that he can objectively assess Elektra’s character without all of the baggage that Matt has. That no matter how Matt may have shared about what had transpired that it was incredibly clear that Matt and Elektra loved and cared for each other deeply and even Father Lanthom could pick that out, and know that from everything Matt had said about her that Elektra really would have been happy for him. But of course, this is just the setup for a ride on the ANGST TRAIN!! 😭

And some spoilers that will add additional context to this scene, if you’re interested: . . . . …this confession scene takes place AFTER his meeting with Karen and is pretty much the last scene for Matt before the final act of the episode. In fact he brings up his reunion with Karen in his confession first, but the conversation quickly moves onto the topic that is truly weighing on him – Elektra!
