General Headcanons for Omegaverse

Omegas

Omegas make up about 40% of the society in my AU. So here are some essential facts about them:

- Omegas are considered the submissive dynamic. Both male and female omegas can get pregnant.

- Generally omegas are smaller than other dynamics, have broader hips, females omegas have bigger breasts. You can identify an omega by a sweet scent (think flowers, sweets, fruits).

- Male omegas give birth through anal cavity. They have both uterus and standart male reproductive organs. In my Au they give birth through caesarean section. Omega females give birth like any other female. During pregnancy male omegas breasts are able to swell and produce milk.

- Omegas are the single dynamic to experience heats. The biological reason for heats are to attract a potential partner to knot/impregnate them. Heats happen once in three months for omegas and last around 3-7 days- it’s the time when fertility is at its peak and they are most likely to get pregnant. During heats omegas experience heightened libido, fever and emit a pleasant, seductive scent. Heats are similar to menstruation, but instead of blood, omegas produce a substance called slick to help lubricate their reproductive parts during intercourse. Omegas are very vulnerable during heats, they experience strong emotions, extreme arousal and frequently euphoria. They also tend to produce more body heat, thus causing the fever.

Betas

Betas are the rarest dynamic, making up about 20% of the population. Here are my general headcanons for them:

- Betas are the most versatile dynamic. A lot of AUs make them like regular humans, but I think that betas deserve more recognition so i added a little bit of spice.

- Betas are of average build, weaker than alphas but stronger than omegas. They emit neutral, but calming scents, for example- clean laundry, green tea or lemon.

- Betas can experience both ruts and heats depending on the mate, for example, if a beta is mated to an omega, they will experience ruts, if alpha- heats. If a beta female is mated to a beta male, she will get periods just like a human.

- The only thing that makes betas “normal” is human genitalia.

- Betas are usually the peacemakers. They take the jobs of doctors, therapists, teachers and professors.

- When an alpha or an omega is overwhelmed by a specific scent from another person (whether from stress or euphoria) only a betas scent can neautralize it and calm them down.

- Betas are the perfect balance between nurture and protection. Even if they are not as strong as alphas, not as weak as omegas, they have the best sense of smell and are the fastest out of the three dynamics.

Alphas

Just like omegas, they make up 40% of the population. These are the headcanons:

- Alphas are considered the dominant dynamic. Both alpha females and alpha males can impregnate.

- Alpha females have a retractable penis which is actually their elongated clitoris retracted when in state of arousal. Both alpha males and alpha females possess a knot, which is a thickened formation at the base of their penis. During the time of ejeculation it inflates and gets the person stuck in their partners genitals to ensure succesful procreation.

- Both alpha males and alpha females have wide frames, narrow hips, which means that birthing is hard for alpha females and it can often get complicated. Alpha females generally have smaller breasts but they can produce milk during pregnancy neverthless.

- Unlike omegas, alphas experience ruts. Ruts is an occurence similar to heats, the difference being that ruts are shorter (usually lasts 2-4 days). During them alphas become extremely teritorial and can go feral.

- Alphas often are considered the leaders of packs, taking up the jobs of CEO’s, civil workers and physical labor.

- Alphas usually emit a stronger, bolder scent, like coffee, sandalwood or pine.
