Who is Okada Nana (Morgiana)'s favourite Magi character?

In a recent interview, Okada Nana (the stage musical actress for Mor) talked a bit more about Morgiana and the musical in general. You can find the full interview here, but I wanted to share one question in particular that made me laugh:

Q: Do you have a favourite in Magi?

A: That's a difficult one...! Morgiana-chan is of course the one I like the most, but Aladdin is cute, and Alibaba is handsome... . But I think Sinbad must be really strong. I'm still reading, and right now Sinbad is in a situation where he can't show his strength, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of it from now on. He also seems to have a lady's man side to him (laughs). Strong and a lady's man... that's nice (laughs). So I have high expectations of Sinbad!

I do recommend checking out the rest of the interview! Okada is very much looking forward to how magic will be portrayed in the show, and how to display Mor's amazing power.

First look at the musical's production, as well as the trio's actors dressed as their characters. Hopefully we will continue to see more behind the scenes content like this :D

We also have new key visuals for them!

The details on the clothes, especially the fabrics, are very interesting - look at Mor's sleeves, for example.

I'm looking forward to how they will approach the soundtrack. Will they use anything from the anime? At this stage (heh) it's early enough for anything to be possible.

I mean, who here had "Magi musical" on their 2022 bingo cards? :'D

Ah, how didn't I notice this before?!!

It seems that Ugo won't be played by an actor, but by his original seiyuu from the anime, Morikawa Toshiyuki, who will have a "voiceover only" appearance.

Based on that, I'm guessing they will make a giant puppet of him? That would be so cool!

Also yes it's so cool that they are bringing at least one of the original seiyuu from the anime! Season 3 confirmed? XDDDD

As far as I'm concerned, the greatest thing to have so far come out of this Magi Musical is how it energized the fans. The amount of times I have seen people say things like WHAT YEAR IS IT is honestly heartwarming to me.

Twitter went wild over Season 3 speculations (and, well, disappointments because a lot of people saw it trending only to find out it was just a reaction to the musical).

As for me, this basically made me want to reread the manga (again) above all my other backlog, especially the volumes this play it supposed to cover. It's so nice.

Teshima Akito | Judar

This is his first play, and he is happy to be part of the one for the super popular Magi!

Judar has a tragic past, and is a bit of a tsudenre and mischevious, but he is a character you can't hate!

All the sentences! End with a exclamation mark!

Tanaka Shina | Ren Hakuei

She has been reading Magi since middle school, and never dreamed she would get to be in a production related to it.

Thinks Hakuei is a lovely woman of elegant strenght and kindness, deep convictions and upright character.

Calls the world of Magi a "magical world brimming with personality".

Hirose Daisuke | Cassim

Also calls Magi a work with a "charming world brimming with personality", and is very happy to be part of the show. He also praises his castmates and staff.T

Magi Musical | Introduction and (some) Cast Comments

I'm sorry the hype has griped me. Also, I have had no time to review any of this so take it with a gain of salt.

INTRODUCTION

The long-awaited musical of the magical adventure fantasy is here!

"Dungeons" suddenly appeared out of nowhere all around the world.

Aladdin (Miyajima Yugo), a mysterious boy travelling across the desert, and Alibaba (Ino Hiroki), who dreams of conquering the Dungeon and its riches, set out on an adventure to find the ultimate "treasure" hidden there.

Their destination is the 7th Dungeon, Amon, said to have already claimed the lives of 10 thousand people...! In high spirits, the two fearlessly make their way throughout the Dungeon.

Following the two, the evil chief Jamil (Kawakubo Takuji) and Morgiana (Okada Nana), a girl who was enslaved despite being a Fanalis, the strongest hunting tribe, also arrive!

Will these two truly be able to conquer the Dungeon...?!

I love how it's the "long-awaited" musical that caught EVERYONE by surprise ahaha. Seems we are covering volumes 1-2 for the most part, with focus on Amon.

Miyajima Yugo | Aladdin

A fan of the original manga, he originally read it during middle school.

The cute yet strong-hearted Aladdin reminds him of the "Innocent Heart" he had forgotten as he grew into an adult.

Ino Hiroki | Alibaba

He wants to create a show with the whole cast that has the feel of Magi and draws the audience into its world.

... also, he thinks that there aren't any actors who wouldn't sympathize with Alibaba's dream of getting rich ahaha.

He wants to show both Alibaba's strenghts and weaknesses on the stage.

Okada Nana | Morgiana

She was smitten when she saw Morgiana, who had previously been silent with a blank expression, starting opening her heart and showing expressions you would expect of a girl her age.

She loves how Mor is a cute heroine with both physical and mental strength who helps others.

She feels the character will be challenging to play since the two of them are very different.

THE MUSICAL IS REAL, IT'S HAPPENING!!

I'll be translating stuff later as I'm work but OH MY GOD. It's going to cover the first chapter, it seems, as expected by the title of Dungeon Suite.

Confirmed characters include Cassim, Judar, Hakuei, Ugo, and Jamil, so I'm guessing we are covering the aftermath of Amon as well.

So... if you're wondering why am I here... I have read unconfirmed(?) news that Magi might be receiving a stage musical adaptation in June. The alleged title is Magi: Dungeon Suite, the same as Night 4 / Episode 2 of Season 1.

I'm currently taking this with a grain of salt given that I have found only one page mentioning this on March 19th, but am I excited?? YES

Reading Dahlia in Bloom aka Dahlia Wilts no More (I actually prefer the latter) is such a joyful experience~

It's supposed to be about a magical toolmaker, but at times it feels more like a food and wine guide ahaha. Though we are now getting more into the business aspect of toolmaking, which I'm super excited about. Hopefully we will continue to get chapters from different perspectives, as they often really change what we feel/think about the characters in question.

Speaking of which, Dahlia´s and Volf's friendship is so precious... it's obviously going to end there eventually of course because light novel protagonists, but to be honest I'd be happy either way, so it's a win-win scenario for me. Still, I have said it before, but I really want more friendship in fiction... .

We are also getting one of the manga licensed (although not by J-Novel Club somehow?), so I ended up buying the Japanese volumes of the other adaptation, which I liked a bit more from the previews.

Yes I know that I'll eventually get the ebooks of the other one, but unfortunately that will have to wait for quite a long time... .

It can be anything from either of the 3 guidebooks. My own idea was just finding something interesting and going with it, but maybe someone has a better suggestion.
