Project & Team Management
For my last month In the Entertainment Business Masters degree we took an amazing class called Project and Team Management. This class allowed my classmates and I to work together as one team to achieve a certain goal or objective that was presented to us. I got to learn new ways to brainstorm and accept Ideas to find the correct path or answer I was looking for. We got a chance to work on our on projects and elaborate on them which enhanced my social skills and Improved my Leadership side.
We learned how to use the Disc Theory which stands for Dominance/Influential/Steady/Conscientious, we also tested the theory on ourselves an got to learn a lot about ourselves as well as our classmates. One of my favorite projects this much was working on my budget and setting a key start date which will help me a lot in my future as well as kept me motivated to finish my project as well as start some new and interesting projects with others to have better Networking skills.
To sum it all up this class really let me learn a lot more about myself and about the people that will be working either with me or for me. I learned a very Important lesson as well which is always respect and work as one with your classmates or coworkers no matter where they are from because you never know who they will become in the near future after graduation.
Last but not least I encourage everyone to take a team management class to better help you work with others later in the future, I also want to thank my professor for teaching me new ways and techniques to improve my work ethic as well as my social skills.

Entertainment Business Media & Publishing.
For this month’s class I had Entertainment Business Media Publishing and Distribution course I got a great opportunity to learn from an amazing and very experienced professor. I got to learn how to Traditionally Publish and distribute your work as well as Self-Publishing for Books, Music, TV, Newspapers and a lot of very important and interesting ways to become very successful without major labels or companies taking most of your percentages and what is owed to you for being the creator and inventor. I really was interested in learning more on how I can keep all the rights to my work and techniques to finding a good Agent instead of finding the wrong Agent that will take most of your rights without you even knowing.
Entering this course I did not really know what to expect but I was very excited to start Entertainment Business Media Publishing and Distribution because nowadays it is very important to Self-Publish your work the right and legal way as well as market your idea or project to get the same hype or sales as if you were in a Traditional Publishing deal. One thing that has helped Artists, Writers, Game developers and many more Self-Publish their work Is technology and to be more specific the Internet everything can be published and created as well as registered through the Internet and I excited to see how much further Self-Publishing will get us in the future.
To sum it all up, this has been an amazing course and I have learned an enormous amount of great Information to help me build my business to success.I really want to thank my Professor Kimberly Craft for an amazing month of great information. I encourage everyone reading this to go learn more about how Publishing your work really works and most importantly how to Self-Publish.

Advanced Entertainment Law
Coming into Advanced Entertainment Law at the beginning of the month I was a little bit worried about what to expect about this course. In my mind I expected to memorize a lot of rules and laws around the United States Of America. After going through with the weeks I learned a big amount of information that will help keep my business safe and protected, we learned how to protect our business through Intellectual Property like Copyrights, Trademarks as well as Patents, It gave me a better understanding about Copyright Infringement and what not to do and ways to research by going to USPTO.gov to see if a copyright or an Idea has already been registered or invented and is now protected.
We got to research and listen to Interviews and Podcast about specific cases in our industry or line of work, and that helped me have a better understanding on how easy it is to get sued for very small things and what the outcome of infringement can do to a company or a person.
As a conclusion I now know how to formally write and read a contract as well as know how to protect any of my creations or my brand. And I highly recommend everyone to do as much research about how to properly register a Logo or how to formally copyright your inventions and keep them protected from competitors as well as scammers. This was an amazing class and I would like to thank my Professor this month for sharing her knowledge on this subject with us.

Negotiation & Deal Making
Before starting my Negotiation and Deal Making class at Full Sail University, I had so many thoughts running through my head about what I should be expecting of this month’s class. I initially thought we would be learning about how to formally approach a negotiation or how to win a negotiation that has been causing you problems. After the first and second week of this course I started to learn more and more about different way to approach a situation or a person and how to make them feel comfortable around the negotiation that way you could build trust and bond to further benefit both your needs as well as your clients need. My favorite thing that I got the opportunity to learn more about is how to be a mediator for two separate parties that are trying to get to an agreement, I learned and got to witness first-hand how difficult it is to mediate for two individuals with different needs. Another very important thing I learned this month is how to build my BATNA plan or in other words my plan B as well as learned how to put myself in other people’s shoes and see how they would feel in a certain situation. One very important thing I also learned this month is always do your research about the topic or person you will be negotiating with to have some sort of understanding about them as well as an advantage.
To sum it all up after finishing this month’s class I have obtained a better understanding on how to negotiate with a person and how to not let my emotion get the best of me because that could cost me to lose in a negotiation. I appreciated this month’s class and I hope to learn even more about my negotiations after getting a lot of experience in the field of work I will be entering.

Product & Artist Management
Before starting Product and Artist Management, I thought the course was about how to approach an artist and help them push their products into the Entertainment Industry. But after learning and going through the one month class, I learned so much more from how to handle a product I want to put out to my Target Market, to how to find and research how many people would buy my products and much more. I was also a little scared before entering this Course because I didn’t really know what to expect.
The first half of our month in this course was understanding and knowing how to interact and find the right Artist to invest and manage as well as build a solid relationship. I gained a lot of new information and personal experience from our amazing instructor this month and now I am finally understanding how to approach an Artist properly. The second part of this course was the product side of things and how to engage your audience and I learned how to properly calculate and research how to find who I’m targeting my product too and how am I going to budget to make it possible to make more of that product and improve it.
One thing that really helped me understand this course a lot was when I was presenting my product to the class we had to build an upside-down pyramid to calculate and research our Reach, Potential, Share and finally our 1% Target to identify who will truly be interested and will buy my products.
Overall This is hands down my favorite class at Full Sail University, I have learned in one month so much more about becoming an Artist Management as well as know how to sell a product from scratch.
I want to thank my Professor Christine for an amazing class. I encourage everyone reading this post to learn more about their target market and how will their products attract customers.

Mastery Journal Entertainment Business Finance
Elie Abi Lahoud January 29, 2017
For this month I got the opportunity to research and learn more about how to calculate and read the financial side of a business and how to calculate how much you need to start up your company or invest in one. Entering this class right after my christmas break I was a bit frightened that this course would have me do a lot of math problems and memorizing and understanding formulas, but once we were passed week oneI noticed that this class was very informative and not that challenging but more helpful for our future businesses after graduation. I learned so much this month about finance in a business from what a Financial Statement is, to what the Time Value of Money is, Capital Budgeting, Start up Costs and Break Even, Fiscal Policy and Working Capital and last but not least I learned how to fill in a Pro Forma Financial Statement. I now know formulas and ways to read and calculate my companies Net Profit and Gross sales as well as How much my company needs to start up and how much money do my employees make as well as Utilities and other equipments cost to start up your Idea. One of my favorite topics this month was learning more about Investments and what to invest in and what not to put my money into. I learned a lot about Angel Investors and how to always read over everything before investing into anything. To sum it all up, After graduation one very important thing I will always remember when it comes to Financing a Company or a Product always hire an Accountant cause at the end of the day messing up one formula will lead in a failure of your company.

Business Storytelling and Brand Development
Elie Abi Lahoud Week 4 Mastery Journal Post Sunday, December 17, 2016
                                                         300 Words
For the month of December of 2016, I walked into class not really knowing how I was going to start brainstorming for my Business Plan and how I was going to figure out everything in so little time! I got to learn and have a better understanding on how to Brand an Idea or Product as well as how to brand myself separately from my companies branding plan. In Business Storytelling we got a great opportunity to learn more about how to build a story that will catch the viewers or customers attention the most by working on different brainstorming techniques to find the best color scheme as well as creating a Tagline or Slogan that will make your Logo catch everyones attention. We also learned how to build a Business Model Canvas from scratch to bringing a whole company or product to life! I learned how to study the different ways people look at an idea from different points of view as well as how to create Domain names for my Company or website that way people can find us easily. I also really enjoyed learning about Brand Identity, I now have a better understanding on how to look at your strengths and weakness for the name or logo you create as well as how to create a Brand Identity Prism which helped me write down all the ideas I had for my companies Image for example: Capabilities, Internal Culture & Value, Personality and many more. One of the most important things I learned this month is how to research other companies in my domain or field and learn more about my competitors as well as going on USPTO to see if anyone has the same company name or same domain name that way you won’t have problems with Plagiarism or Lawsuits. The second most important thing I learned this month was too work more on my Social Media and fix the way people view me through the Internet, I will be fixing my Facebook, Twitter and I will be updating my Linkedin account to improve the image I want people to know me as.
