As the world settled into a hushed lullaby of night, Molly the Unicorn, plush and magical, stirred from her sleep. Tonight was no ordinary night; tonight, Molly craved adventure. Silently, she tiptoed through the quiet house. Her journey led her to a room adorned with childhood wonder—Lily's room. Molly approached the bed where Lily lay nestled. Leaning in, Molly whispered a secret lullaby into Lily's ear, a call to join her on an adventure woven with the threads of imagination. With a flutter of moonlit sparkle, Lily's eyes opened. My Background

From a young age I've always been involved with art somehow. my grandmother being a painter and me spending most of my ime with her. she would paint everything around her house, from vases, to mason jars, to painting murals on her walls, and even painting a mural on her freezer.

ITs something I've always been exposed to, enough to where as i grew older, art became a major part of my life, to where I went to school to get my degree in the arts. I have a bachelors in art with an emphasis in storyboard and animation. Graduating in 2024, and am now working on my masters in public relations, but where does this fit in with each other?

I am a social media influencer. having a large amount of followers on sites like TikTok and Twitch. I have worked with different companies, promoting products and engaging with my audience. With my Masters in Public Relations, I will be able to better understand how to better step out of my boundaries of working behind a screen, but also being able to share my work and know how to properly advertise and share it.

My Blog as a Whole

My blog as a whole will be about the stories I write, the places i go, the projects I'm part of, and silly little life updates. My first few stories will be two tings that are close to me. One being my interview with the two heads of Nano Productions, a production team that im actively contributing my skill in, asking about the upcoming Murder Drones fan game thats set to release sometime in 2026. the second being a story about my Dance team and how they are preparing for their third championship ring as a team, but their first in the NCAA D2 devision.

How long have you been dancing?

I have been dancing since i was in kindergarten, but stopped, i got back into it my junior year of high school and danced all throughout college.

Do you have any pets?

I have so many! I have 4 cats, 2 green Anoles, 2 Bahaman Anoles, a Beta, 2 Tetra, and 5 Molly fish.

What games do you stream the most?

I primarily stream multiplayer games like Lethal company, Content Warning, Among Us, or Dead by Daylight, but I also play single player games such as The Sims 4 and The Classrooms.

What do you want to do with you degree?

My dream is to become a storyboard artist for companies such as Dreamworks of Paramount, but I also want to do public relations for The Detroit Lions, my favorite NFL team.

Where are you from?

Im from Oscoda, a small town in Northern Michigan right on the beaches of lake huron, with the Au Sable river cutting right through town.

New Media journalism – Mastery Journal Entry 

At the beginning of 2023, I embarked on a journey to achieve my master’s degree.. I love writing. So, applying for the New Media Journalism program at Full Sail University was my first choice, as I have wanted to attend FSU since High School. As I attended lectures, I began seeing a different part of the writing I love. Reporting or covering an event and, most of all, documentaries. This, among other tips and techniques of camera usage, gave me the confidence to stand out from the crowd and get the content I needed. While researching, I came across an article, Gen Z and millennial travel: The wanderlust generations, which shares that Millennials along with Gen Z share a trend: travel. This article was published in 2019 but has only grown since then. 2017, Facebook passed two billion active users; in 2023, roughly three billion users will be involved.

Countries have always paid public figures to visit their countries, but an article published on Business Insider shared that even Saudi Arabia was enlisting influencers to help repair reputations. This led me to find out how I could enter that market and do what I love at the same time. New Media Journalism from Full Sail University. My expectation for this course was to understand research, creditability, and professionalism in journalism, writing, and digital content. My original objective was to build a solid base of understanding in communications to use in exercise science. I eventually fell more in love with the art of writing. I then began to see that I wanted to write copy for travel and health.

Learning about writing, research, web design, public relations, and more. Taught me everything I need to know to be successful. I can enter the workforce confidently and work in several professions, such as media communications, social media management, and new media journalism. I will implement these things into my personal life as I plan to write more than just copy or social media management. I will continue to write as I travel and add to the blog I have created throughout the program. Using this as a professional trainer has given me more insight into how I want to continue educating people on health and fitness. As I step into the world of media and away from professional training as the primary job, I want to put the knowledge I have obtained toward documentaries. Shooting the documentary on Smith Tower was my favorite assignment. I had a lot of fun, and being able to do all aspects of media development to upload a solid story about a significant place was a learning curve but the most fun throughout the course. As I end this class and write my last entry for New Media Journalism at Full Sail University, I thank everyone who has helped me get this far. Below a link to my website and my journey this year. Dr. Gradepocolypse vs Mr. Sack o'Potatoes

It was 11:50 PM. The class project was due in nine minutes, but it was hard for me to focus while working next to the beautiful girl. Her project was also almost finished, but a voice rang over the intercom.

“Good evening,” Dr. Gradepocolypse croaked. “To punish procrastinators, I will be cutting power to Metroville City! At midnight, my freeze ray with freeze your grades! If one student submits their work, I’ll consider myself defeated. Good luck!”

And then, the power was cut. The girl’s computer died. Panic ensued.

I pulled my bag of infinite potatoes closer. I wasn’t going to sit idly by like a couch potato – I was a member of the Super Hero Organization, and I was going to help.

This month in Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution my original goal was to become self sufficient in managing my own music and songwritings and gain a better understanding about royalties and how they work when it comes to collecting on works that are created and distributed for mechanical and personal use by others. I gained lots of important information, learning many valuable lessons on traditional publishing, and self-publishing options for songwriters, musicians, artists, and producers. I learned about the history of the art of publishing and how it has advanced and impacted the industry with its evolution bringing new technologies and opportunities for creative artist that don't want to spread the benefits of their works and royalties to larger label executives, but rather keep their copyrights and royalties to themselves and stay in charge of their productions by doing the work or partnering with aggregators that charge less and leave the rights of ownership to the author and creators of the works.

Minority Women in Leadership: Andrea Changes Everything at The Guild Literary Complex APA Style Master's Thesis by C. Schandelmeier

Executive Director of the Guild Literary Complex, Andrea Change, is the focal point of the Capstone Project created by C. Schandelmeier for her New Media Journalism Degree at Full Sail University.

The Importance of minority women in leadership has never meant more than it does now that the democracy of the United States hinges on this very issue. There is no way that this author could have known about this fact at the time that the capstone, "Andrea Changes Everything at the Guild Literary Complex" was written. Andrea Change is the focal point of this epic tale that involves her evolution from single mother, audience member, and poet to becoming the Executive Director of the Guild Literary Complex. As the leader of this grassroots organization that is dedicated to giving voice to the voiceless and marginalized members of society, Change is pushing the organization into the future with fearless vision, the same fearlessness that our country needs to muster to elect its first woman President, and the same fearlessness that Doctor James Carstens has illustrated in his approach to teaching. 

This class has been instrumental in the evolution of this humble graduate student to a Master of the art of writing an American Psychological Association Master's Thesis.  Writing the Literature Review proved to be the most daunting endeavor only because a plethora of links to various authors, publications, and historical data was necessary to clarify the capstone project to the intended audience. Initially, only the core research data was included in the Literature Review section of this APA-style paper. Dr. Carstens made certain to set the record straight and demanded that the links in the capstone "Andrea Changes Everything at the Guild Literary Complex" be thoroughly explained as they are essential components of the Literature Review. 

Even though this graduate student is teaching an entirely new subject this school year for their full-time job as a Chicago Public School teacher, time was carved out to create a carefully crafted APA-style Master’s thesis complete with all the necessary components to lead to academic success, because, as Malcolm X so aptly stated, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” (X, 1964). While this journey has not been easy, it is also important to take into consideration the words of Barack Obama who said, “The future rewards those who press on. I don't have time to feel sorry for myself. I don't have time to complain. I'm going to press on.” (Obama, 2011). This author has a shining light of promise on the horizon with a Master of Arts Degree in New Media Journalism and the process of composing this Master’s thesis has provided a way to press on.

          The three goals I had when taking this course were to learn how to identify and access public records by locating and utilizing various types of public records, analyze information from public records and distinguish it from a personal opinion, and evaluate credibility and reliability of sources while understanding the legal implications of public records. 

          In this course, I gained valuable skills in information presentation and research techniques. Specifically, I learned how to craft visually engaging and informative infographics to effectively communicate complex data and concepts. Additionally, I refined my ability to leverage public records as reliable sources of information when conducting research topics relevant to my beat, enhancing the credibility and depth of my content. Also, I learned how to seamlessly integrate hyperlinks from reputable websites into my articles. This skill not only enriches the reader’s experience by providing easy access to the primary sources, but also reinforces the transparency and authenticity of the information I am presenting them with. By mastering these techniques, I am better equipped to produce high-quality, well-researched content that resonates with my audience.  

          Understanding the difference between public records and personal opinions is fundamental in various contexts. Public records, being official and factual documents, offer a reliable and verifiable source of information. They hold legal weight and are crucial in decision-making processes, especially in legal proceedings where accuracy is paramount. On the other hand, personal opinions are subjective and lack the same level of credibility and reliability as public records. Relying on public records ensures informed decision-making based on objective data, safeguarding against biases that could arise from personal opinions. Moreover, recognizing the distinction between these two types of information is vital for maintaining research integrity and ensuring the validity of research findings. REPUTATION MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES- Month 10

As I am getting close to the end, anxiety has gotten strong. My motivation has lessened, but I see my eye on the prize. I have said it from the beginning, these courses are nothing like what I expected when I started the program.

When I started my goals and expectations looked so different. Here I am, learning something new.

At the beginning:

• Goal: Do not lose who I am and don’t damage my reputation. • Strategy: Remember that our reputation is all that we have so we do not want it to be trashed (Doorley, & Garcia, 2015).

• Goal: Be able to stay positive even in the most difficult situations. 

•Strategy: Being negative leads to losing clients and much more (Sickler, 2019). 

• Goal: Learn to stay strong and stay away from negativity. • Strategy: Others see how you behave, and it influences their thoughts on you. It is your responsibility to show management skills (Kim & Park, 2009). 

After Month 10:

Each month, my goal is to succeed but also take away something from the course and sometimes that something is small. I have never even thought about a crisis manual, crisis communication, or crisis anything except that problems will arise and when it does a plan needs to be in place. 

I have achieved knowledge of a correct way to deal with a crisis. My first instinct would be to deal with it with emotions. Now I have a better understanding of why emotions do not belong in a crisis plan. I also have better concepts to use when dealing with a crisis and why it is important to know ahead of time what employees are responsible for what. When a crisis happens that is not the time to come up with a plan.

Magic or Reality?

 

Molly and Lily, victorious but weary, returned home. Snuggled in bed, surrounded by the familiar comfort of moonlit whispers, a question lingered in the air. Was their magical escapade real or a dream of imagination? As eyelids grew heavy, the enchanting memories danced on the edge of consciousness. The sparkle of Molly's button eyes hinted at secrets untold, leaving the answer to the mysteries of the night suspended in the realm between wakefulness and dreams. In the embrace of soft pillows and plush unicorn, reality and fantasy intertwined, inviting the heart to believe in the magic that transcends the night.

SWV vs Xscape

SWV > Xscape

I see SWV & Xscape have a joint reality tv show coming out. I get it, everyone is trying to get their bag. However, in my humble opinion, they’re not even in the same category. At best, Xscape sounds like a really good high school talent show performance. Whereas SWV had that R&B & Hip-Hop mix that the 90s were so good at delivering. Even hardcore Hip-Hop heads dug them. I won’t even mention the Biggie line that he said about Xscape. Google it if you’re curious, haven’t heard, or have forgotten it. In my ignorant, semi-misogynistic youth I thought it was hilarious. Now, when I look back on it, I wonder how they felt about it. I wonder if they turned off Biggie songs when they came on the radio, or if they stopped dancing when they were at the club and the DJ played “Mo Money, Mo Problems’ or ‘Notorious Thugs’. Anyway, besides SWV being dope, they were one of the first R&B groups that I remember sampling other artists when they had a mashup with the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s ‘Human Nature’. With all that being said I’m sure I’ll watch for pure nostalgia. I’m also a sucker for reality shows, the worse the better see Bad Girls Club, Party Down South, and either one of the shore shows that MTV gave us.

WK1 Exploration: Start A Blog & Tell A Story

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to let you all in on my life and take you through my courses and works while in college!

Before I started Full Sail, I already acquired two degrees: a BA in Cultural Anthropology and a MS in Nonprofit Leadership, but always had a dream to be a director, writer, and producer. 

I had always thought I would be a famous lawyer like Maxine Shaw and Thurgood Marshall. But then I became more interested in the cultural significance of television and race. 

Because of that, I decided to take an aptitude test to determine what I should major in, and Anthropology was the first option. 

Because of that, I attended SUNY Oswego and fell in love with Cultural Anthropology; while incorporating my passion for film and television, I found my love for documentary films. 

Because of that, I became determined to operate my own independent film nonprofit company focusing on documentaries and attended Fordham University, receiving my degree in Nonprofit Leadership. 

Until finally, I became tired of dreaming and working jobs that no longer catered to my passion. And ever since, I decided to pursue my passion for media by attending Full Sail University as a Digital Cinematography major.
