“Thank you and I agree wholeheartedly,” Felix stated as he cuddled Zoe just a hint more. When Elijah spoke again, his full attention went right back to his husband. Giving a small chuckle, the 25 year old gave a grin as he thought about the sweater. “Maybe a yellow collar if they have those and a sweater would definitely be adorable.”
Starting the car, Elijah pulled out of their driveway and began heading towards the shop. “That sounds adorable- it would suit her,” he agreed, briefly glancing away from the road to smile at Felix. “Can you imagine if we all had matching sweaters? We’d be like our own little family.”

“Something tells me that we’ll figure out what to do with all of the joy,” Felix answered before aiming to press a small kiss to Elijah’s lips. “You are singlehandedly the most amazing person ever, without a doubt. I’m looking forward to continuing this amazing journey with you and Zoe. No matter what in the world happens, as long as I’ve got you, then the day will end perfectly.”
Elijah beamed as they made their way to their car, holding the door open for Felix. “Zoe will undoubtedly make our already perfect life even better, she’s already such a joy,” he agreed as he climbed into the drivers’ seat. “What color collar should we get her? Oh- should we get her clothes? Imagine her in a sweater!”

“Same here, she’s already got us wrapped around her paws,” the drama teacher replied as he continued to hold Zoe close. “I know you’ve probably heard this a whole lot, but I love you so much, Elijah Thompson. I couldn’t ask for a better best friend and husband, you’re so amazing. Every single day with you is honestly the best day of my life, no matter what.”
Elijah smiled widely, wrapping his arm around Felix as they walked. “Don’t worry, I can never hear it enough, Felix Thompson. I love you more than anything and I’m glad I could make you so happy with our new addition to the family. I don’t even know how I’ll handle all this joy with both you and Zoe in my life.”

Felix pushed himself up off the floor with Zoe still in his arms, bright smile still firmly planted on his face as he followed Elijah’s lead. The happiness and love he continued to feel felt like it could power an entire city for a full year or more, that’s how great it was. “Definitely going to have to do that. I mean, she can have some socks, but mostly toys,” he agreed wholeheartedly.
Elijah smiled back at him, overjoyed at how much Felix loved the surprise, reaching out to squeeze his hand briefly before they stepped out into the hallway. “Honestly, I think she’ll end up having whatever she wants - I can’t even imagine denying her anything,” he laughed, locking the door behind them as they made their way to their car.

“Thank you, love,” the drama teacher answered as he held Zoe close while still respecting her personal space. All the while, Felix just couldn’t stop smiling, the happiness he felt was so strong. He glanced up from the cuddling session with Zoe once Elijah started speaking again and gave a small nod in agreement. “Sounds great to me,” he replied.
“Let’s go, then,” he smiled, keys jingling softly as he held them up, “I’ll drive,” he offered as he stood, marvelling at how small the puppy really was. “We’re going to need to buy her some toys too, she’s been playing with our socks and she was being adorable so I let her,” he laughed.

Smiling against the kiss, Felix’s smile became a grin upon hearing Elijah’s approval at the name. Nodding along once more, the 25 year old took mental notes of what needed to be done. “I’m glad you like the name and I’ll see if there are any pet stores that are still open right now,” he answered as he carefully wiped happy tears off his cheeks. “I love you so much Elijah, looking forward to these puppy adventures with Zoe by our side.”
“Here, I’ll look it up for you,” he offered, sliding his phone out of his pocket, “You just cuddle Zoe until you stop crying,” he laughed, taking a seat next to the puppy so he could continue to pet her. “I love you so much too,” he couldn’t help but smile, looking up from his screen for a moment to watch Felix with the dog - it was truly heartwarming. “There’s a PetSmart open - want to go? We can just carry Zoe until we get the leash, I guess.”

“And that’s exactly one of the many reasons I love you. Your kind heart and how it extends toward animals,” Felix responded once he was able to get control back from his emotions. He aimed to press a kiss to his husband’s lips, brown eyes still bright with pure happiness. “How about Zoe? After Zoe Murphy from Dear Evan Hansen?” he inquired.
Elijah couldn’t help but smile at his words, immediately returning the kiss. “Zoe,” he repeated thoughtfully, rubbing her belly when she rolled over, “I like it, it’s cute! We need to get her a collar with her name on it. And a leash. We need to get a lot of things, I only have food.”

Felix nodded along as he listened, eyebrow ever so slightly arching with curiosity as to what in the world was going on. He then heard the racing of tiny feet on the floor, soon spotting the fluffy, white puppy with the smile growing wider on his face. “No words are coming to my mind, I’m so happy,” the drama teacher responded, tears of joy pricking at his eyes as he knelt down in order to be closer to the puppy. Looking back up at Elijah, no words left his mouth, yet the love was clear in his eyes.
A big grin made its way to Elijah’s lips when he saw Felix’s reaction, how well the tiny puppy fit into their little family. He knelt down next to the two of them, rubbing the dog’s belly as it happily rolled over, nipping gently at their fingers. “The family in 31C, their dog had puppies and they couldn’t find a home for all of them. I couldn’t let her go to the pound,” he explained, a fond smile on his face. “We just have to name her.”

Another day teaching, another journey back home to be with Elijah. Felix stifled a small yawn with the back of his hand as he walked in, feeling bone tired, however his husband’s voice immediately put a smile on his face. Accepting the cheek kiss, he returned it before pulling back for just a moment with a small look of confusion on his face. “Elijah Thompson, my amazing husband and partner in crime, what happened?” he inquired.
Elijah laughed nervously. “Well, nothing happened, per se,” he explained as he began to walk towards the kitchen door. “It might be better if I just...” Trailing off, he pulled open the door and the puppy came scampering out towards Felix. She was white and fluffy, her paws slipping a little on the hardwood floors before she skidded to a stop at his husband’s feet.

Hearing Felix at the door of their flat, Elijah quickly scooped up the puppy that was sitting in his lap, setting it in the kitchen and shutting the door between them. He was waiting at the door when Felix walked in and he offered him a sheepish smile. “Hi, love,” he greeted, leaning in to kiss his cheek, “I have something to show you but just- don’t be mad and keep in mind how much you love me? I promise it’s not a bad thing - quite the opposite, actually.”

“Yeah, we should probably do that instead. Yikes, that has dangerous written all over and I’ll be sure to buy you a new microwave when I head out to the store to get art supplies for my classes, we’ll be making Romeo and Juliet style masks. It definitely is still us against the world, the best partnership ever. Through the chaos and the peace, we’ve stuck together and I couldn’t be more thankful for someone as amazing as you, Elijah Thompson.”
Tumblr media
“I think the school would be better off for it. We’d be practically saving lives. And thank you, I’ll put a warning sign on it next time so certain seniors don’t mess about with it. You’re so overly poetic. I love you. Let’s hope we live peacefully together, with just the right amount of chaos.”

“Right, the epic forgotten groceries crisis that followed, how could I forget? Very true, we’ve gotten the hang of the whole adulting thing now, maybe we should include a chapter about that in the book. Well, I look forward to testing these hypotheses with you by my side. Those were some pretty great times, back in our student days. We were young, making vows that it was us against the world and so many other things.”
Tumblr media
“Or maybe we should just pass our adult knowledge onto our student children. They really need it - the microwave in my room is still broken from when a girl tried to microwave a bag of metal cutlery as an experiment. I look forward to it too, and I think it’s still us against the world. After all, we didn’t become such a great team without fighting against anything. It’s always going to be us.”

“Exactly true on the minor fails note, my love. Goodness, the great utensil misplacement adventure, how could I forget? It certainly has been awhile since the last time we sat down and put our gaming skills to work, but I guess that’s what happens when you get married then bouncing right back to your respective jobs. It’ll be nice though, spending time together like back in the old days, now with many added bonuses.”
Tumblr media
“It was the biggest free space left in our kitchen because we forgot to buy groceries. Luckily, we’re a lot better at being adults now. Well maybe the break from gaming was just what we needed and we’ll bounce back better than ever. Or perhaps marriage makes you a better a gamer. I agree, it’ll be nice and reminiscent of our student days.”

“Good thing there’s a section for minor fails too. Exactly, our lives would have fallen into mass chaos like fandoms without preferred alternate endings, so maybe the constant planning is a positive thing. Perfect, it shall be added to the list of topics that should be covered. This is probably super cheesy, but I’m looking forward to doing this with you.”
Tumblr media
“Minor fails are the best kind. You learn your lesson without too much embarrassment. Exactly, without you, I would be the one in charge or organization and you know how that works out. Remember I tried to organize our kitchen and we ended up with our plates and cutlery in the fridge? Aw, it’s cheesy but you know I love it. And I’m excited as well, our gaming skills are beginning get rusty, it’s been too long.”

“Oh, right. Note to self, add that to the list of my epic fails when we get home, so used to planning things out it’s cringeworthy. Thank goodness for alternate endings or else, so many different fandoms would have caused mass chaos. I got lucky too, we were already a pretty great team back in the day and over the years, we’ve become the best team known to man.”
Tumblr media
“I would consider that a minor fail, it’s definitely not epic considering how many times you’ve done it. It’s fine, I like that you plan things out, otherwise our lives would be one big lump of mess. Aw, I agree, our teamwork is definitely one of our most perfected talents and it should be the main topic of our relationship book and seminars.”

“Sounds perfect to me, Elijah, sequels marathon on co-op it is. Set for this weekend and ready at any time. Honestly, same here, so much potential just like with so many of the other ships and only the universe as well as the writers know how things would have gone if it all had worked out.”
Tumblr media
“You know we don’t have to plan things, right? We live together. That’s true, I’m just going to pretend the alternate ending is the real one. And I’m so glad we didn’t go through the whole dating scene all through our twenties into our thirties. I guess we got lucky, or rather, I got lucky.”
