Journal ; Hummingbird

Today, while out and about, I found a little yellow and pink hummingbird charm. I immediately thought of Lady Aphrodite, and decided to buy it. Since my last journal, I have been thinking more and more of Lady Aphrodite as the goddess I want to start worship with first, among a few others. So with this little hummingbird, I think I have come to the conclusion that I will indeed start with Lady Aphrodite. The beauty of the little bird reminded of her so. I also got to support a small business with the purchase, so it was a great find overall!

Journal ; Uncertainty in Beginnings

Something I am struggling with as I venture into Hellenic polytheism is figuring out who I want to worship exactly, at least as a start. Unlike many people who start worship, I feel, I am not particularly drawn to any one god or goddess. I want to try worship with just one god for now, while I get my bearings and learn how to practice. So, as I am searching for which deity to start with, there are moments where I feel I want to start out with one god, and then moments where I feel I want to start with another. This lack of direction is partly why I wish there would be a deity calling out to me, but I am just a beginner, and nobody has called me to this religion. I am testing it out for myself to see if I like it and if it fits for me. Many have recommended that when starting, just choose one deity to focus on (while honoring and respecting the other gods, of course), and the rest will come at a later time. But what do you do when you cannot even get past the first step? That is what I am wondering.
